Chapter 765: A Space Attribute Beast! - 2
Before Louis could speak, Lily and the others greeted him.
Louis acknowledged their greetings with a nod, then briefly looked at Cyrandel. She nodded back, signalling that she was done on her part.
"Let me first congratulate you on your victory, and also thank you on behalf of the Empire for making humanity stand proud against the other races."
"As your Emperor, it pleases me greatly to see such talented individuals emerge from our land."
Louis swept his gaze around the group. His eyes lingered on Miho for a split second before returning to Lily and Leo.
"Hmm, how should I put it? There isn’t much I can provide you with, considering your... unique abilities." He already had a rough idea of how Leo’s talent worked.
And, to be honest, apart from the specialised training, information hub, and easy access to resources and opportunities the Empire provided, Leo could still become very strong over time, even if he lived alone in the wilderness.
In other words, Louis needed to make full use of the advantages he could offer to keep Leo under the Empire for as long as possible and try his luck at achieving the grand goal of making Leo the ’representative’.
Because once Leo’s position was secured and tied to the World Core, humanity—and in this case, even the elves—would have their future secured for more than 10,000 years. That would remain true even if Leo and Lily decided to move beyond the Empire’s boundaries.
"Leo."
The Emperor’s firm voice immediately drew Leo’s full attention.
"Your Majesty," Leo responded with a slight bow.
"There is little you can hide from me, and I can tell that the people around you right now are those you trust."
Leo nodded.
"Don’t worry about the Elven Empress. She has her own reasons for supporting you and Lily. And naturally, you can trust me because I am your Emperor."
I wouldn’t say so... CRAP!
Leo immediately realised that Louis could read him like an open book, just like Katherine and Gunther. Unfortunately, his suspicion was justified.
Louis narrowed his eyes.
"Well, even if you don’t trust me, there is little you can do about it. Anyway, let’s get to the point."
"I want to confirm one thing. Have most of your major beasts reached Royal Bloodline?"
"Not all of them..." Leo responded warily. Somehow, he couldn’t bring himself to trust this person.
"Well, I’m sure they’ll reach that point soon anyway. What I mean is, once a beast reaches Royal Bloodline, there are only 2 methods a person can use to advance its bloodline."
"One is painstakingly slow and requires a great deal of luck—"
Natural Advancement. Leo already knew the answer before the Emperor could finish speaking.
Seeing that Leo had figured it out, Louis didn’t elaborate further.
"The other method is much more complicated and isn’t something you all need to hear about just yet. Just know that it isn’t possible through the normal methods." Louis casually hinted at Leo’s talent, something only the two of them understood. Even Cyrandel had no idea what Leo’s talent was.
"I can help you with that," Louis offered.
"But once again, it’s still too early to discuss it since your beasts need to reach the King Rank first."
Leo nodded, understanding what he meant.
"Now, onto my next point."
"I will impart the most restricted knowledge to you. For that, you’ll probably need to meet me on the 6th floor of the Celestial Library." Louis glanced at Lily.
"It would be best if you both came together. And remember, you need to acquire this knowledge before you reach the mortal threshold—that is, before reaching Pseudo 5-star personal strength. I believe you understand what I mean by personal strength."
Leo nodded again. He had also confirmed something else: it seemed that Louis, too, could receive feedback from his tamed beasts.
With that, Louis finally finished making his promises for the future. Now, it was time for the rewards they would receive in the present.
"Well, now for your first reward."
Louis snapped his fingers, and a small, palm-sized, round object appeared in his hand.
No way—

Heaven’s Gate Medallion
Type: Artefact
Rank: High Gold (High 8-stars)
Affinity: Space
Craftsman: Louis Von Arvonnon
- A thick, circular medallion forged from an ancient golden alloy, adorned with intricate celestial engravings and multiple independently rotating rings surrounding a dark-blue central disc.
Harnessing the Spatial Authority of Louis Von Arvonnon, it manipulates spatial coordinates to enable instantaneous teleportation. Its rings regulate the X, Y, and Z coordinates, with (0, 0, 0) fixed at the centre of Arvonnon Palace.
The medallion records visited locations and utilizes the user’s memories to return them to familiar places without requiring coordinates. However, teleportation fails if the destination is spatially restricted, obstructed by physical objects, or otherwise inaccessible.
Additional Property:
Life-Saving Safeguard:
- The medallion protects its bearer and designated individuals from fatal attacks by automatically teleporting them back to Arvonnon Palace moments before a lethal blow lands.
- By manipulating the space around the user and designated individuals, the artefact is capable of hiding the real strength, which cannot be seen through upto beings ranked High 8-star or lower.
[Note: The artefact’s functionality is directly tied to the creator’s existence and the origin mark. Losing its connection to either of them will render the artefact useless.]
---
Leo couldn’t believe he was being handed yet another god-like artefact. What was even more surprising was that it happened to be a top-tier life-saving artefact.
If the previous talisman Cassian Aurelius gave him worked against 7-star beings, this one worked against beings up to High 8-star!
But there was a fatal flaw.
Leo was damn sure this was some kind of tracking device meant to keep tabs on him at all times.
Louis noticed Leo’s hesitation but said nothing. However, he did offer Leo a way out.
"Just so you know, it doesn’t work when kept inside a person’s Spiritual Space."
Leo immediately relaxed at that. This was perfect. Still, the man had already played his cards to keep Leo under surveillance. It would be foolish to trust him completely.
Louis couldn’t help but sigh.
"How about this? I’ll sign a strict mana contract so you can put your mind at ease. It would be problematic if, during every interaction, half your attention were occupied with figuring out ways to escape from me."
Leo closed his eyes and took a deep breath. Even if he wanted to, he couldn’t stop those thoughts from occurring.
"That’s a great idea. I can sign the contract as well," Cyrandel agreed.
But Leo and Lily didn’t know that the Emperor’s words held a deeper meaning, one they would understand only after growing stronger.
Before they could sign the contract, Louis proceeded to hand over the last 2 rewards he had to give him.
And Leo had to admit that he was genuinely surprised by the next rewards. The very next item was another high-level artefact, one that immediately triggered a reaction from his system.
