Chapter 752: Boon And Divine Astra - 3
Unfortunately for Azrakar, the first guaranteed-hit golden lightning spear descended on Vulcarion.
He was still coughing out blood because the chest wounds refused to close. When he felt his end nearing, he turned his head upward, only to see the strike descending upon him.
Too late to dodge.
CRACKLE—BAM!
The strike immediately created an explosion, but it was still not over; it kept descending at the same spot like a golden stream.
"AARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!" Vulcarion’s scream rang clearly in everyone’s ears as the lightning cooked him from the inside and burned the wound on his chest—cauterising it.
Unfortunately, the lightning didn’t seem strong enough to defeat him in one shot, as Vulcarion sat there with gritted teeth and blank eyes. He was trying his best to fight through the paralysis and move once again, but to no avail.
Skeeeeeeaaahhhhhhh!!!
But then, something unexpected happened.
Lily immediately created distance from Zethyrax, whose spirit body was cracked after her and Solvyr’s combined assault.
Crackle!
The bird flapped its wings and flew higher, deeper into the storm clouds, and then golden lightning started striking from all angles.
Strike was a heavy word; it was more like thin sparks of lightning coming into contact with its body like cables, charging it as the spirit body started to repair itself.
The cracks mended as the bird’s body began to give off a faint golden glow through the blue lightning, and an interesting phenomenon started to take place.
Golden sparks seeped deep into the body, which ultimately transformed into blue sparks by the Beast’s interference and inherent lightning affinity. Lily could only watch as a dull blue orb began to form at the beast’s centre, near the chest.
It was slightly visible through the translucent spirit body.
The orb kept expanding until it comfortably sat at 2 meters wide, while the golden energy kept feeding it.
Fruder watched everything through Kaelion’s vision magic, which covered his eyes. He knew exactly what was happening.
’Miss Lily! The Spirit is forming from a spirit core!’ he shouted through the mind link.
’It will grow very strong after that, and even the attacks unleashed by its skills will become very strong! Please kill it before the core formation is complete!’
But saying it was easy, because Zephyrax released a massive torrent of wind targeted towards Lily, pushing her several hundred meters back while lacing her entire body with countless slices that started bleeding.
She immediately healed herself and tried to unleash black lightning from a distance.
Crackle—Crack!
The attack hit, but it was absorbed.
She narrowed her eyes and extended both her hands.
VRRROOOOMMMM!!
A massive Flame Torrent was released toward the beast, but the beast’s wind torrent countered it, stopping the flames’ advance and spreading them around the environment.
When Solvyr tried to close in, his larger body only gave the wind more surface area to push back. Though he countered it with his own wind, he was still pushed back due to his lower strength.
Lily immediately brought out the Ironfeather Roc and the Sandworm’s Beastcores and used her talent to summon them directly.
The Beastcores sublimated as the huge beasts took form.
The Roc’s form materialised in the air, while the Sandworm’s essence dropped toward the ground in brownish-gold streaks as it began to take shape.
"Let’s hope that they target the dragons and this Zephyrax," Lily muttered.
Being just wild summons and holding considerable rank—which was only slightly inferior to Lily—they were not obliged to obey her.
She could only fully command temporary summoned spirits at least 2 major ranks below her, and even then, the control would loosen when she permanently resurrected them.
But beasts like the Roc and Sandworm, who would be in the 4-star realm, wouldn’t even obey her in temporary summon form.
But Lily had her own way for that.
She briefly closed her eyes to focus on both the beasts and sent an intent.
’I will permanently resurrect you, and you will be free to go away of your own accord if you help me in this fight.’
She recalled something and quickly added,
’But you need to promise not to attack humans now, as well as after you are set free in the world, unless provoked.’
She knew the beasts would need to protect themselves if they were attacked, so she added the provoking condition.
The beasts immediately agreed and passed the intent.
After summoning was complete, the Roc shot toward Zephyrax while the Sandworm dug into the ground, shocking the dragons when they saw 2 new formidable beasts appear all of a sudden.
But while that was happening, something different was occurring in Leo’s location.
Stiiinnngg!
"What the fuck?!" Azrakar shouted in frustration because this was the third time in a row he had been blinded by some knife-looking thing that burst into bright white light after hitting his face.
Jab. Jab. Jab. Right hook.
The combo from Leo knocked out a couple of teeth from Azrakar’s mouth while finally making him spit out blood.
Then Leo caught his face and smashed him into the ground.
Thum—CRACK!
A large crater was formed, and then, all of a sudden, Azrakar found himself thrown high into the sky, where Leo proceeded to kick him even higher—still blinded.
Then another series of combo punches hit Azrakar, making him thrash around in random directions.
Leo used the full advantage of his free, perfect manoeuvrability in open air and didn’t give Azrakar a single moment to rest. Leo didn’t even let him flap his wings to regain balance before punching him in another direction, lifting him higher into the sky progressively.
After an unknown amount of time, Azrakar found his face a mess, almost all his ribs cracked, multiple bones all across his body broken and even 1 of his horns split in half.
If it continued, he would finally be defeated.
Then something snapped.
"...H-Hail the ancient one—"
Suddenly, Azrakar snapped his eyes open, which began to glow a bright yellow like the sun, making Leo back away immediately.
