Chapter 750: Boon And Divine Astra - 1

Twip!

"Hm?"

A dragon flying in beast form suddenly found something lodged between his scales. It had been perfectly aimed to slip into the gap between two scales instead of striking one and bouncing off.

"A wooden arrow?"

His senses seemed to have missed the approaching attack because of the [Voidshade Veil].

"...Who—?!"

His calm demeanour to spot the assailant suddenly shifted as multiple vines grew and wrapped around his body, restricting his wing movement and forcing him to descend toward the ground.

Or rather, he was compelled to descend when he could no longer maintain his flight.

Wroooshhhh!!

He turned his head and breathed flames directly at the spot, burning through many of the vines and regaining his ability to fly.

But when he turned to look back toward the group, he saw another wooden arrow coming for him.

He was just thinking of dodging it when, all of a sudden, the arrow rapidly started to multiply.

1 became 2. 2 became 4. 4 became 8. 8 became 16. 16 became 32. 32 became 64.

It kept multiplying until hundreds of arrows covered the sky, making all the dragons look up.

Their senses were already cheating them due to the artefact, and now this.

Some immediately breathed flames to burn them away, while others tried to fly higher.

But Sylrael shot more arrows, which kept multiplying until hundreds became thousands.

"[Thousandwood Arrow]..." Suddenly, a thought occurred to Sylrael, and she muttered the name.

Her eyes widened slightly.

"I learned a skill..."

Even Leo received the information through his system.

Ding!

>Member of Niri’s Primordial Lineage—Sylrael—has learned a new skill!

[Thousandwood Arrow]:

- A wooden arrow fired with sufficient strength and surrounding space rapidly multiplies mid-path before reaching the target, each copy splitting into two more arrows until the sky is overwhelmed by a relentless, ever-growing barrage—limited only by the user’s mana.

Upon striking a target, the arrows sprout binding vines that rapidly grow and wrap around the target, restricting its movement.

>The skill has been permanently stored in Lineage records and gives future generations a small chance of inheriting it with Matriarch permission, while also making it easier to learn similar skills from scratch if inheritance fails.

Leo was just walking out of the flames when this notification arrived. Even Niri contacted him.

’Papa! Big Sister Sylrael seemed to have learned a skill! I think I can also do something similar to it now!’

’Alright, alright. It’s not the time to experiment. Do something you are confident in and try not to get hurt.’ Leo instructed while turning his head just in time to see all the flying dragons get struck by those arrows as erupting vines snarled around them.

’Oki Papa!’ Niri responded enthusiastically, raising her hands toward the dragons to do exactly what Leo hadn’t told her to.

Is Sylrael exerting herself because I said she won’t be much use against the flame dragons? Leo suddenly thought.

Knowing Sylrael since he first got her from the secret realm, this was the most likely possibility. She was still trying her best to prove her usefulness.

Foolish behaviour. Only an idiot would let go of such an efficient manager and combatant.

Not to mention, just a Mid 4-star person with Wood affinity was a treasure in itself. Well, if this pressure with no base pushed her to gain strength, then he shouldn’t complain.

"YOU SURE HAVE THE LEISURE TO DISTRACT YOURSELF!" Azrakar’s rage exploded when he saw Leo wasn’t even valuing his existence.

He had already closed in on Leo, his fist ready to strike his face.

Leo responded with his own fist.

Swoosh—BOOOOOOOOOMM!!!

A loud thunderclap exploded outward, throwing even Vorthak and Vulcarion away from the sheer pressure.

An almost 200-meter-wide crater formed, and it was actually Leo who was pushed back several feet, skidding to a halt.

A sharp, prickling ache shot through Leo’s arm before quickly subsiding.

"This... his physical strength and physical defence are abnormal," Leo noted.

Or rather, he had already been noticing it since the first punch that had dented the dragon’s sternum.

The punch had actually carried the skill [Critical Strike] and was supposed to finish Azrakar in one blow, but it had merely caused a dent.

Leo immediately used Aura to reinforce his body further and took a combat stance. He stored his sword away because something told him the fight was going to be intense, and a weapon with low proficiency would only hold him back.

For now, his fists were the perfect weapons.

[Violet Hellbrand]

[Netherblight Poison]

His fists immediately lit up in neon-green flames while Azrakar coated his own in sun-flames, his furious eyes never leaving Leo for a second. Even he understood that Leo was not an opponent to be taken lightly.

"Human, you will pay for the disrespect you have shown me."

Leo simply gestured with two fingers.

"Come."

Vorthak and Vulcarion, who had been thrown away earlier by the impact, were completely ignored.

Because they had yet to regain their balance when another impact pressure blast caused the already 200-meter crater to deepen and widen further.

"Wha—?!"

Vulcarion simply saw a blur pass in front of his eyes, and the next impact came from the other side, throwing him away once again.

"What...?" Leo’s eyes were completely focused as he countered another punch from Azrakar, creating a third pressure impact that threw both of them in opposite directions.

But the very next moment, Azrakar flipped, dug his claws into the ground to stop and then rapidly charged toward him for the 4th impact.

"Human! How are you so strong?!" Azrakar was baffled himself.

Because Leo indeed had greater strength than him, not just by a small margin, but by a substantial amount. The only thing holding Leo back was his lack of techniques.

When the distance was created after the 4th impact, Azrakar suddenly felt a presence on his left side, distracting him momentarily.

The [Voidshade Veil] effect.

By then, Leo was already in front of him with a disastrous punch aimed at his chest, but at that moment, the ground below them erupted, and an ironroot shot up to trap Leo.

Leo was forced to break his movement, which allowed Azrakar to recover and—

KA-BOOOOMMM!!!

Another pressure impact cracked the metallic surface and shattered multiple metal pillars on the Oreback Behemoth’s shell.

Lily, who was above in the sky fighting the Zephyrax, could only see the afterimages of both individuals before another blast formed a large crater on the Behemoth’s back, one after another without rest.

"This dragon and Leo are equally matched? No way..." she muttered.

She was equally shocked that someone could match Leo and that Leo was so much stronger. Because she knew for sure that two such punches on her would have left her at death’s door.

But her eyes missed the part where Vulcarion suddenly found a brutal, irregular, clawed gash across his chest, making him collapse onto the ground while even his regeneration failed to heal the wound.

Shyra’s new skill combination of [Shadow Claws] and [Umbral Shadow Pounce].

Leo had actually found an opening to attack Vulcarion with his bare hands, clawing his chest open with them.

"HUMAN, STOP HUMILIATING ME!!!" Azrakar shouted in pure rage when he realised Leo still had the leisure to focus on things other than the fight.
