A/N: There was a mistake in Leo’s stats, the total feedback from beasts is [5500], not [6500]. I mistakenly doubled the numbers during Shyra and Nyxa’s advancement.

Chapter 746: Rest

Leo reacted this way because he didn’t want any stupid losses. And from what it seemed, those 905 stats were permanently lost.

Whenever Lily had stats exceeding her limits, those extra stats were always stored within the ’!-!’ mark. But for him, there was nothing of the sort.

>Host’s personal stats cannot cross the 10,000 mark before the World Baptism.

Huh? But wasn’t the system supposed to remove my limiter? Leo asked.

>The system can only help bypass physical limits imposed by one’s own being; it cannot prevent worldly restrictions.

Leo repeatedly read those lines, and after realising that nothing could be done, he asked the next important question.

What about the extra stats I’ll be losing from each level-up from now on?

>They are permanently lost.

What?!

This was the worst part. Looking at his current level and stats, it was clear that his Intelligence stats would suffer the most.

Nearly 5000 stat units in the first level-up and 7500 in the second!

No treasure he knew of could help him gain that many stats at once.

But why? Lily’s extra stats are stored until her limits are lifted. Why isn’t it the same for me?

He asked while looking at Lily’s stats.

Vitality: 700 + [6000]

Strength: 550 + [6000]

Agility: 550 + [6000]

Stamina: 550 + [6000]

Intelligence: 10,000 !2700! + [6000]

There was clearly that additional 2700 Intelligence stat that would be added once her limit was lifted.

>Host’s soulmate—Lily’s—stats are a product of her talent as well as the Worldly Rule granting 100% innate mana growth for a Spirit Tame.

>In her case, most of her innate Intelligence stats are the result of feedback from her spirit tames.

[Lunaria - Pseudo 4-star] - 1000

[Drycha - Pseudo 4-star] - 1000

[Pryde - Peak 4-star] - 5000

[Solvyr - Peak 4-star] - 5000

>The [6000] stat value is the result of her talent’s ability to share an additional 50% of her tame spirits’ stats.

>This leaves her own private pool at 700 units, well under worldly restrictions.

>However, in Host’s situation, the system is an external aid gifted to him by an external being. Due to this, the world doesn’t grant it the right to store excessive stats.

Leo read through the lines and finally calmed down.

Since there was no use fretting over things he couldn’t control, he could only adapt to them and make the most of the situation.

He looked at his stats.

I’ll probably need two more level-ups to reach 10,000 units in all my stats... He narrowed his eyes.

Too wasteful...

He was losing a total of 12,500 Intelligence points.

In the end, he decided to level up just once so that his other stats would get closer to 10,000 units. As for the remaining units—around 2000 or so—he would increase them through natural treasures. He already had agility-boosting treasures from Tarun; he could always manage others somehow.

Wait... don’t tell me I can’t increase my stats through natural treasures because I don’t have any beasts at the 5-star rank.

Since there was a supposed restriction on Beast Masters that they could never be stronger than their strongest beast and could only be equal to or weaker than it unless they had special talents, there was a high chance that Leo wouldn’t be able to increase his stats by consuming treasures.

>That’s a personal limit created by following primitive methods of gaining strength. Host has no such limit due to the system.

Leo sighed in relief. At least now, he had a plan of action.

And the most important part was completing this World Baptism, whatever it was.

He looked at the positives. With today’s level-up, his strength had risen exponentially thanks to the percentage-based stat boosts. If his full strength were taken into account, he was now at Mid 5-star. His stats were even higher in areas like Stamina and Agility, with boosts of 490% and 240%, respectively.

The only stat that remained lower was Vitality, which stood at 17,200 points with the 50% boost—just a little short to be at the cusp of Mid 5-star. However, his other stats more than made up for it, making him a proper Mid 5-star being.

Let’s see where the dragons run now... Leo thought.

Even though it was ugly, he genuinely hoped that the dragons would somehow win this event. That way, they would score 1 Master Point, tie with Aurelius, and force a third event, which would obviously be an all-out war between the surviving members of both academies.

Leo slowly began making his way out of the beast’s body. He had already noticed that the blood had completely stopped flowing through its veins, meaning its heart had stopped beating.

Well, the system’s confirmation was more than enough.

He used water to propel himself through the mess of blood and made his way back to the open wound. When he finally emerged, he saw the anxious faces of the Aurelius students looking in his direction. The moment they spotted him, their eyes lit up.

Lily immediately used water to carefully wash all the blood off Leo’s body and clothes before using warm wind to dry him. She did it all within a few seconds.

"Leo, are you fine?" she asked.

"Yes, I am. But what happened—"

He was about to ask what had happened when he caught a glimpse of the large screen above him and turned his head to look at it.

Ancient Savage Beast Extermination Task: Completed

Aurelius Beast Academy Damage Progress: 48.6%

Sunborn Royal Academy Damage Progress: 51.4%

Winner: Sunborn Royal Academy

1 Master Point has been awarded!

Both Academies are tied with 1 Master Point each!

Now, 1 final event will decide the winner of the competition.

Before that, students are given time to rest until 10th June.

Students aren’t allowed to harm each other in any way until then.

Lily giggled when she saw that Leo wasn’t actually feeling down about losing. In fact, he seemed excited.

"I knew you wouldn’t be satisfied with letting these dragons go so easily. Let’s show them their place in the final event!" she said excitedly.

Leo nodded in agreement.

"Let’s show them."

They both departed alongside the other students. Thankfully, none of the 24 had been eliminated. Even the spirit Vorthuun was still alive and followed them to their resting place.

Apparently, they were supposed to rest right there, anywhere in the surrounding forest. Their work inside the Secret Realm was complete, and they wouldn’t be returning there again.

The dragons also cheered loudly after winning the event. All 23 of them had survived completely intact.

But since everyone was exhausted, nobody bothered engaging in any heated verbal exchanges as they departed for their respective resting places.

And just like that, three days passed swiftly, and 10th June arrived.

During this time, the dragons hunted their own beasts and feasted on roasted meat while resting. The Aurelius students did the same. However, they were a bit busier, especially the alchemist, who tirelessly prepared more potions for the upcoming fight.

Finally, the announcement board lit up.
