Absolute Beast Dominion

Chapter 692: Loot!

  • Next Chapter

High-class noble families like those of Hurricane and Noctis have existed for more than 2 centuries, and more often than not, the founding heads of the family are still alive and kicking, just like these two fathers bantering with each other.

And having existed for so long, they know many things about the world, and that naturally includes information about talents. Be it information gathered from others or knowledge researched through experimentation. It could be their own research or collaboration with other families of equal standing.

This time, the Hurricane family head seemed to be adamant about a marriage between his family's prodigy—Uraan, and Noctis's family's prodigy—Lyra.

And normally, Noctis's family head would have happily agreed with open arms—considering Uraan had a 7-star beast-taming talent compared to Lyra's 6-star talent. But the only problem was Lyra's prospective status in the family.

Uraan already had 3 wives, and Lyra would be the fourth.

"Old fool, do you really think she won't end up becoming the main wife? Uraan and Lyra are supposed to remain together in the academy for over 20 years! That's enough time for them to create a deep bond!" the Hurricane family head urged.

The Noctis head waved him off.

"Your mistake was marrying your son 3 times behind my back, not to mention he already has kids."

"Bastard! I didn't even know about your daughter! Don't you realise what great heights both of our families can reach through their marriage?"

The Noctis head sneered.

"And did you tell me about your son? You should have at least hinted if you were so scared of him getting assassinated!"

Families usually hide information about their prodigies until they become capable enough because of cases of assassins being secretly sent by higher-class families to prevent a new rival from rising. Until they enter academies—which give rather guaranteed protection to their students—people usually hide them.

But the Noctis head couldn't actually disagree with Hurricane's head. Uraan might really be the only good candidate among the connections he had, considering combinations of the wind and thunder elements might create some great talents. And if not that, an almost guaranteed generation of beast masters with high-ranking talent, and if luck really shone on them, perhaps even an 8-star talent.

"Alright, fine, but I won't interfere even a tiny bit. It depends on Lyra's decision. I don't care if she wants multiple partners or a single one; tell your son to make considerable efforts if he is a man."

"Tsk, of course. In the end, he is a Hurricane. Get ready with your dowry; I won't accept lacklustre gifts."

"You!"

Back inside the realm...

"Lyra—duck!" Uraan shouted through the communication channel as she threw herself to the side, the side sweep of the 7th-rank elf grazing her abdomen.

Swwwosssshh—Shing!!

"Wha—?!" The elf barely registered the superfast, revolving stream of wind coming towards him before everything went black.

When he opened his eyes, he found himself in the stadium arena, with the left side of his chest, shoulder, and arm missing. Even his half-destroyed heart could be seen exposed outside, giving its last twitches before, suddenly, everything regenerated at once.

A high-ranking elf healer was healing him from the side.

"So unlucky..." the elf healer muttered with a long face, not actually blaming the Lunareth Academy.

Uraan hadn't slowed himself down for even a second after hitting those 2 beasts and was rolling through the forest like a miniature hurricane column that changed direction at will.

He was mainly targeting the beasts, with occasional elves caught in his path. He even freed Marco's Mammoth, which was trapped in multiple vines and being attacked from different directions.

He rode his falcon and used his sword and the falcon's beak to deal the main damage. Though, through all the hits, his hands had actually gone numb from the rebound force.

"Ohh... Uraan really is a threat to anybody..." Leo muttered. No wonder this guy managed to actually do some damage in the territory bounty.

He even noticed Sylrael was discreetly sniping any distracted elf with her arrows and taking them out in a single attack. As for Ronan and Aaron, both seemed to be moving in sync to cover their weak points and force their way inside the elves' formation to break the structure and disrupt them.

Most beasts were fighting other beasts, but those that remained free, like Aaron's extra Gravel Serpent beast and Yano's Boulder Rock snake, moved through the ground to disrupt the elves' footing.

Plato and Miho were actually moving under the protection of Dhalia's Boreal Shellbeast's huge frame to heal anyone who got injured. As for anybody who came too close to attack them, the Shellbeast was enough of a deterrent, and Cecil's Half-spirit horse acted as a distraction.

After observing the battle for a few more minutes and seeing how Aurelius Beast Academy would win unscathed, Leo opted to finish things quickly and turned towards a particular location in the distance.

There, he could sense a hiding elf. And since the territory beacon of Lunareth Academy was nowhere to be seen, he knew exactly where it was and extended his arm towards the direction.

A huge sphere of flame formed in front of Leo. When the leader elf finally noticed it, his already pale face was drained of all colour.

"NO!!!" he shouted, but to no avail.

VRROOOOMMMMM!!!

The [Solarflare Torrent] tore through the forest floor and burned everything in its path, even the hiding elf.

The next second, the leader disappeared in white particles, making Kaelion punch empty air.

The same was true for the other elves and beasts. With the territory beacon destroyed, the whole group was teleported away.

Leo's surprise attack, which took 5 of their rankers—most likely the beast masters—really hit them hard; they were annihilated.

At that time, Kaelion noticed something on the ground that had fallen from the leader's hand.

"A ring?" he muttered, realising it was a spatial ring.

Kaelion immediately scanned the surroundings and found many more rings lying around. His expression lightened in an instant.

It was dropped loot!

When Leo and the others heard about it, they quickly gathered every fallen ring.

"1, 2, 3, 4... total 10 rings!" Leo noted, understanding that every top-10 member of the elven academy must have a ring.

Looking inside, they found what they expected.

Things bought with the 5000 Gold Coins.

In an instant, their supplies were doubled. Leo checked them quickly and found that they had a huge bulk of alchemy materials, food seasonings, and even potions.

It seemed that the elves had made preparations for a fight before the beacon establishments.

Unfortunately, any weapons and armour they had bought disappeared alongside them.

But there was one ring filled with plants that they had gathered along the way, and surprisingly, they even had a treasure that enriched the mana in the surroundings.

Manafern - Peak Green(2) Tier Treasure

- A Peak Green Tier Manafern increases mana density and soil fertility by 70% in an 80-meter area.

It was a waist-high fern with broad, translucent blue-green fronds. Tiny veins of faint light ran through its leaves, making it emit a soft glow.

Leo nodded in satisfaction and stored them away.

He checked for damage, and except for Marco's Mammoth, everybody was fairly good.

"Hmm," Leo thought for a second before bringing out all the healing potions he had gotten from the elves' loot. He put them in a separate spatial ring and tossed it at Marco.

"There might be a case when your Mammoth gets targeted due to its size, just like now, and the healer might have trouble reaching you. Use the healing potions inside the ring at that time."

Marco nodded and wore the spatial ring.

After that, Leo distributed the rings to the others who didn't have one. Now, 15 of the 25 members were equipped with spatial rings, and he didn't need one because of his spiritual space.

After Sylrael cast a group healing spell, they set out again to look for a spot.

Outside the realm, the stadium was going wild.
