Bai Ruozhu’s eyes widened. What was happening? Was Taisui coming up?

"You won’t let me eat, but now it wants to eat me. Are you satisfied?" Quanxin complained.

Bai Ruozhu wished she could strangle it. "If you hadn’t come out because of greed, would it have discovered you? Previously, when you were hiding in my Space, it didn’t find you."

Quanxin suddenly wilted, "But it’s no use hiding now."

"Don’t go out again, be good." For safety’s sake, Bai Ruozhu also hid in the Space.

Soon, the ground shook, and the seemingly seamless stone floor opened once more, exactly the same as when Zhong Kui led the clan elders in a ritual to split the ground before!

Bai Ruozhu noticed that the ground returned to being seamless again, her attention focused on the fallen piece of Taisui meat. The meat seemed to have a life of its own, writhing slowly, so subtly that someone with poor eyesight might miss it.

She waited for another 15 minutes, and having not observed any further movement and with the ground entirely calm, she exited the Space and walked toward the piece of Taisui meat.

The piece was notably larger than the one Ao Song had given, because Ao Song’s piece was taken stealthily, resembling more closely the piece given to the Astrologer.

Bai Ruozhu dared not touch it directly, so she used a handkerchief to pick up the Taisui meat.

A rumbling sound, like a growling stomach, echoed, but Bai Ruozhu was sure it wasn’t her.

Before she could process her surprise, the ground beneath her suddenly cracked open, and the mass of Taisui meat in her hand tightly gripped her hand, pulling her downwards.

She widened her eyes. The previously opened floor was not here; although the opening shape was identical, the position was certainly not here.

No, she had been careless. This was Taisui’s domain, not Zhong Family’s at all. Taisui could emerge from wherever it desired.

Or perhaps the Zhong Family never sealed Taisui but worshipped it!
