Chapter 430: Chapter 430: Seraphina Sterling’s Identity Exposed (2)
"Yes!" Seeing how composed Nadia Chapman was, her secretary calmed down a little, but a trace of worry remained. "But Mr. Hale from Hale Corporation is also here. If we only have Manager Sykes greet him, wouldn’t that be a little inappropriate?"
"Justin Hale? Interesting!" Nadia Chapman waved a hand. "Have Chester Sykes go over first. I’ll be there shortly."
"Yes, President Chapman!"
Seraphina Sterling listened to the commotion on the other end. Only after she heard the sound of high heels clacking away did the voice on the phone speak again. "Even Justin Hale showed up. Looks like this press conference is going to be spectacular. News about Keystone Technologies is bound to be on the front page tomorrow! Should we thank Mr. Hale for personally coming to give us another news angle?"
"Justin Hale is cunning, you know! You have to be extra careful. He’s the eldest son of the Hale Family and has been running Hale Corporation for two years. His schemes are beyond what you can imagine or handle. When you’re up against him, you absolutely cannot let your guard down. The slightest mistake, and he’ll find a flaw! But you don’t need to be afraid of him. He probably doesn’t know that Keystone Technologies isn’t yours. Just put on your best general manager act and deal with him. Don’t say much about official business. In a little while, it’s all on you!"
’So, Justin Hale really is at the press conference. Excellent. It’s just as I predicted. Luring him away will make the next part of the plan much easier!’
"Sigh, it’s my fate to do all the grunt work! Since you don’t want to come, just wait for my good news. I’ll personally go meet this famous Mr. Hale and see if he’s really the legend you make him out to be! I’m off to slave away for you! Can’t keep Mr. Hale waiting too long, after all!" Nadia Chapman glanced at the time. There were still twenty minutes until the press conference began. She had to go and contend with The Fox Hale for twenty minutes!
"I’ll treat you to a celebration dinner tonight!" Seraphina Sterling said with a laugh before ending the call.
"Seraphina Sterling—I’m all ready! Why are you still dragging your feet? It’s nearly impossible to get you to go shopping with me! You’ve already wasted an hour. The bus is going to be absolutely packed!" A fully dressed Genevieve Churchill stood at the door, repeatedly rushing Seraphina Sterling.
"Who said we were taking the bus?" Seraphina Sterling grabbed her purse and dangled a set of car keys.
Genevieve Churchill instantly rushed over and threw her arms around Seraphina Sterling. "Seraphina, it’s fine! Take your time getting ready, no rush at all! I’m not in a hurry, not one bit! Do you want to touch up your eyeliner? Add some mascara? Or maybe pick a different lipstick color? How about we change your whole outfit? We have a car, we’re not worried about the time!"
Seraphina Sterling stifled a laugh. ’Isn’t her change in attitude a little too drastic?’ "Alright, stop goofing around. I’m almost ready!"
Meanwhile, Chester Sykes was dressed in a black suit, a white shirt, and a striped tie, looking sharp and every bit the elite professional. He was unbelievably handsome. Compared to how he looked after months in the research and development lab, he was like a completely different person. Over the past two months, in the push to finish this new product, he had once gone three straight days without leaving the lab. When he finally emerged, he looked like a wild man. Comparing the Chester Sykes from back then to the man he was now was like comparing a beggar to a prince.
"Manager Warren, you came too. Are you here to witness the transformation of Keystone Technologies? Welcome, welcome!" Chester Sykes said upon seeing Kyle Warren sitting off to the side. Although Kyle Warren was also in a suit, he couldn’t hide the exhaustion and anxiety in his eyes, no matter how hard he tried to conceal it. The Kyle Warren of today was a completely different person from the one who had left Keystone Technologies. All of his former high spirits were gone.
"Are you really done with software development? Keystone Technologies has always relied on software R&D for its profits. To just cut it all off like this... isn’t that a bit too drastic?" To this day, Kyle Warren couldn’t believe it. He couldn’t believe Chester Sykes would actually abandon software development, a field where he possessed a talent that was nearly unmatched.
