Chapter 391: Chapter 391: Someone Needs to Be Taught a Lesson (7)

"Aunt Jasmine, even if you want to curry favor with the Thompson family, this isn’t the way to do it! Even if you want the Instructor to forgive you for belittling him, you shouldn’t have come up with such a stupid plan! A man’s pride can be more important than anything, especially for a soldier! He’s a good sport who keeps his word—the Instructor has handled this perfectly. If my aunt made me go to the hospital to apologize, *that* would be a huge slap in his face! The Instructor is no sore loser!"

Ignoring the look on Jasmine Faulkner’s face, Seraphina Sterling took the phone back. "Instructor, if what my aunt said made you uncomfortable and gave you the urge to vent, please don’t come after the Sterling family—and especially not me. Instead, I suggest you pay a ’visit’ to the Faulkner family. I hear they have people in the military too. Isn’t that your sphere of influence? With your high rank, pulling a few strings should be a piece of cake!"

Seraphina Sterling showed no consideration for Jasmine Faulkner or Aiden Faulkner, casually redirecting the blame onto the Faulkner family. The happiest person in the room was Walter Sterling. ’That’s my granddaughter!’ he thought with pride. ’Never takes a loss! So impressive!’ Seraphina continued, "You just focus on recovering. I’m sure you don’t want to see me, so I won’t come and get you all worked up. It wouldn’t be worth it if you aggravated your injuries. But there is one thing I need to remind you: get your precious little sister under control. She shouldn’t be blaming me for certain things. Tell her to find the real culprit!"

Ethan Thompson didn’t know whether to be pleased or angry at Seraphina’s speech. But when he thought of his troublesome sister, he had to smile. ’It takes a demon to grind a demon!’ he thought. "I can’t control her!" he said into the phone. "In the Thompson family, she’s the queen. Too many people spoil her. Even if I say something, she won’t listen!"

"My principle is simple: I don’t bother people who don’t bother me," Seraphina said. "You’ve experienced that firsthand. If she messes with me, I won’t show any mercy just because she’s a Thompson. The wound on your face has probably scabbed over by now, right? If your ’precious’ sister is foolish enough to provoke me, don’t be surprised if an identical wound appears in the very same spot on her face!" ℴ

Seraphina didn’t care. She had no patience for people who refused to learn their lesson. As expected, the line went deathly quiet. You didn’t need to guess to know Ethan Thompson was enraged. Of course, anyone would be angry if their family was threatened; that was only natural. It was just that Ethan Thompson’s fury was particularly terrifying.

"Who gave you the audacity to threaten a Thompson?" Ethan Thompson’s casual voice drifted through the phone, laced with a palpable danger. "Aren’t you afraid the Thompson family will retaliate against the Sterlings?"

"So, by your logic, I should just stand still and let your precious little sister walk all over me?" Seraphina retorted. "If she’s the one starting trouble, she needs to be ready to face the consequences! If the heads of the Thompson family really want to intervene in a squabble between us juniors, then I guess your family isn’t so great after all. A renowned military family acting like a common street gang—if one person can’t win a fight, they just call in the whole crew! But I’m sure the Thompson elders would never do something that would disgrace their family name. Of course, the simplest solution is for you to control your precious sister. Tell her not to mess with me! That way, we can all live in peace!"

"But if she insists on making trouble," Seraphina continued, "then don’t blame me for what comes next. The Sterling family isn’t afraid, even if the entire Thompson family gets involved! Your family’s power is in the military; ours is in the world of business. I’m just dying to see how much influence a military family has in the commercial arena!" An arrogant, defiant light danced in Seraphina Sterling’s bright eyes. Not only was Ethan stunned into silence, but the entire living room had gone quiet. To openly challenge the Thompson family like this... Seraphina Sterling’s audacity was astonishing.
