Chapter 379: Chapter 379: Pulling Out Faye Sterling’s Fangs (3)

"That’s exactly why I have to go after her! Don’t worry, I’m definitely going to win her over! My rivals might be formidable, but we all have an equal chance! It’s not like I’m completely out of the running! Just you wait—I’ll marry her and bring her home!" Wyatt Gallagher gazed at the exquisite wine cup in his hand, savoring the lingering aroma. ’So what if he’s Aethelgard’s Mr. Grant? So what if he’s the Demon King of Chaos? Matters of the heart are about feelings, not status or a wealthy family background!’

"Good! You said it, so I’ll be waiting!" Felix Gallagher was overjoyed. ’To have such a capable daughter-in-law would be a blessing I earned in a past life! Then I’d never have to worry about Jade Pavilion lacking a successor. Seraphina is so brilliant; Jade Pavilion is sure to flourish in her hands!’ The more Felix Gallagher thought about it, the more wonderful the future seemed. Of all the decisions Wyatt Gallagher had made over the years, this was probably the one that pleased him the most.

Seraphina Sterling, of course, knew nothing of the conversation between the father and son after she left. She headed for the private room address Joel Xavier had given her. She was ten minutes later than the scheduled time, but Seraphina didn’t care. ’I’m just here to crash the party today and make Franklin Sutton give up completely.’ But before she could even go inside, she was blocked outside the private room. "Wait! This room is taken. You’re in the wrong place!"

’Wrong place?’ ’It’s not like I’m blind or can’t read numbers. How could I have gone to the wrong one?’ "I..." Seraphina Sterling looked up and saw a familiar face: Kellan Sutton! On second thought, she wouldn’t bother explaining. "Well, if it isn’t Mr. Sutton. Long time no see!"

"Seraphina Sterling? I’m surprised to see you here! Aren’t you supposed to be at military training?" Kellan Sutton looked thoroughly displeased to see her. Then, a sudden gleam in his eyes gave way to a gloating expression. "I seem to recall Aethelgard University has a rule: unless there’s a medical reason, any freshman who skips military training gets expelled on the spot. So, have you been expelled? Or are you about to be?"

"For Mr. Sutton to be so concerned about my academic standing, could it be you’ve taken a fancy to me? I’m sorry to disappoint you, but I have no interest in you whatsoever. You should save your time and energy!" Seraphina Sterling gave him a pained smile. Seeing Kellan Sutton’s face darken, she was inwardly delighted and decided to press on.

"However, since you have a secret crush on me, I’ll go ahead and tell you. I haven’t been expelled, nor will I be. I’m officially a student at the Aethelgard University School of Economics and Management! The only reason I can be here now is that my instructor gave me special permission to finish military training early. So you can stop worrying about me now!" Seraphina Sterling was smiling cheerfully, but Kellan Sutton looked ready to explode.

"Don’t flatter yourself! Who has a crush on you? You should take a look in the mirror! With a face like yours, I wouldn’t have a crush on you even if I went blind! Stop being so full of yourself! And another thing—this is my private room. So what if you’re a young lady from the Sterling Family? Does that give you the right to just barge into someone else’s space? I have no idea how your parents raised you that you don’t even have the most basic manners! You’re both daughters of the Sterling Family, so how can you be so different?"

Kellan Sutton showed no restraint, continuing to berate Seraphina right there in the hallway. "Someone as gentle, kind, perfect, and noble as Faye—that’s what the daughter of a prestigious family should be like. And then there’s you. You don’t even know basic etiquette. How could Faye have a sister like you! You’re a complete disgrace to the Sterling Family! If I were the head of the Sterlings, I’d either send you straight back to the countryside or lock you up to stop you from shaming the family in public every day!"

"It’s a good thing you aren’t the Sterling family patriarch. Otherwise, the Sterlings probably wouldn’t even make it to the end of the month before collapsing completely. The Sterling Family, once so glorious in Aethelgard, would instantly vanish from sight." Though Seraphina Sterling wore a warm smile, it never reached her eyes.
