Chapter 1467: Chapter 1457: Absence

At the door of the conference room, Lian Jun looked at Jiang Wenhui, his face serious, "The president is not feeling well, so he can’t attend today’s meeting."

"That’s quite a convenient illness," a shareholder sarcastically remarked.

Jiang Wenhui’s expression remained unchanged as she looked at Lian Jun and asked, "Is his health serious?"

"The doctor said he needs rest," Lian Jun replied.

"Hmm, then let him have a proper rest," Jiang Wenhui nodded.

Lian Jun nodded, bowed to the shareholders, turned, and left, closing the door behind him.

As soon as he left, a shareholder immediately threw a file.

"This is becoming more and more outrageous; such an important meeting and he doesn’t show up. Does he even care about the company’s interests?"

"I used to think he was a diligent and practical person. Now it seems he’s no better than Jiang Yutai."

Jiang Wenhui’s face stiffened slightly, looking at the shareholders she said, "I don’t think Jing Heng deliberately missed today’s meeting; it’s unfortunate that he’s unwell."

"Who knows if he’s excusing himself. He seemed fine yesterday; perhaps he’s currently troubled by the Zhuang Family matters," Shareholder Zhou said sarcastically.

Jiang Wenhui forced a smile, hesitated for a moment, then said, "Since Jing Heng didn’t come, we should reschedule today’s meeting."

"Reschedule? If he doesn’t come, we just won’t have the meeting? His time is time, but ours isn’t?" A shareholder slammed the desk.

Jiang Wenhui quickly said, "That’s not what I meant. It’s just that Jing Heng is the president, and his approval is necessary."

"That also depends on whether he sees himself as the president or not. Since he doesn’t want the role, there’ll always be someone more suitable."

"In any case, the meeting will proceed. I don’t believe the earth will stop without him, and Shengyuan Group will collapse."

The shareholders united in dissatisfaction, expressing their displeasure towards Jiang Jingheng.

Under their firm demands, Jiang Jingheng started the meeting, and the projects she held naturally received unanimous approval from everyone.

The meeting concluded, and shareholders left smiling.

"Wenhui, you did very well, keep it up."

"The next board meeting will be soon; make sure to seize the opportunity."

Jiang Wenhui quickly said, "Thank you for your appreciation, but I’m not up to it."

"Why wouldn’t you be? You’re much better than your cousin. Wenhui, don’t be overly modest. That’s insincere."

Jiang Wenhui smiled but said nothing more.

After seeing off the shareholders, she breathed a sigh of relief, heading to her office while pulling out her phone and dialing.

"Auntie, are you free? I’d like to invite you to dinner."

"Alright, I’ll have someone arrange the venue and send you the details once fixed."

Jiang Wenhui hung up the phone and saw the secretary approaching, she asked, "What’s the matter?"

"Vice President, Director Chen from the Real Estate Management Bureau just called to invite you for dinner tonight."

Jiang Wenhui nodded, "Okay, I understand."

"Also, at three o’clock this afternoon, you have a meeting with LST..." the secretary said as she handed over the document.

Jiang Wenhui took the document, flipping through it while walking forward.

In the hospital, Mu Yan watched the departing figure, eyebrows tightly knit, wondering about his sudden reminder to be careful.

Who wants to harm her? But how would he know?

"Yanyan, who were you talking to just now?"

Behind her, Kong Lizhen’s voice called out.

Mu Yan turned around and smiled at her, "A friend, aren’t you accompanying grandma?"

"Your grandmother is asleep. Let’s head inside; the wind is strong outside," Kong Lizhen said.

"Hm," Mu Yan linked her arm with hers and walked toward the ward.

Kong Lizhen, however, suddenly turned her head to look at the direction where the man disappeared, lost in thought.
