Chapter 1412: Chapter 1412: Awkwardness

Mu Yan looked at him, sobbing, her red eyes glaring at him, her face streaked with tears, indicating she had cried for a long time.

It always seemed like the person in front of her had become so unfamiliar, as if she never really understood him.

The more she thought about it, the more upset she felt.

Jiang Jingheng looked at her helplessly, "There is no mistress, it’s only you."

He raised his hand to wipe away the tears from the corner of her eyes. Watching her cry, his heart seemed to break as well.

"I don’t believe you." Mu Yan sniffed and swatted his hand away, "There’s no smoke without fire; you must have done something wrong."

"Then tell me, what wrong did I do?" Jiang Jingheng asked.

"You know it yourself, and you still ask me?" Mu Yan glared at him.

How could he be so detestable, still trying to hide it from her?

"I truly don’t know, that’s why I’m asking you."

Mu Yan felt she couldn’t continue talking to him. At this point, does he still not want to come clean?

Fine, if he doesn’t want to say it, then don’t. She doesn’t want to know anymore.

Suddenly, she lay down, turned her body, and faced away from him.

"Don’t sleep yet, get up and have some bird’s nest porridge, you haven’t eaten anything tonight." Jiang Jingheng said.

"I’m not eating." Mu Yan said defiantly.

"That’s not an option."

Mu Yan simply ignored him and pulled the quilt over her head.

She didn’t want to argue with him; some words, once spoken, might leave no room for reconciliation.

She had to stay calm. Maybe this was just a dream, an illusion, and when she woke up, she’d find that none of it was real at all.

Suddenly, light burst into her eyes as the quilt was pulled away, and she was directly lifted up.

"What are you doing?" Mu Yan glared at him, "I told you not to touch me anymore."

"Eat the porridge before you sleep, otherwise, you’ll be hungry at night." Jiang Jingheng said softly.

Mu Yan snorted softly, "If I’m hungry, I’m hungry. If I starve to death, no one would care."

"What nonsense are you talking about?" Jiang Jingheng said with displeasure, "I care."

Mu Yan wanted to retort, but when she met his deep, dark eyes, the words were swallowed back.

Jiang Jingheng brought the bowl of porridge over and fed her with a spoon.

Mu Yan originally didn’t want to eat, but seeing him so gentle, she couldn’t help but soften her heart.

No, she was hungry, that’s why she was willing to eat.

After finishing the porridge, Mu Yan lay down again. Having just eaten, she couldn’t fall asleep.

When Jiang Jingheng finished his shower and came out, she suddenly said, "Your mom came over today."

"Hmm." Jiang Jingheng replied lightly.

Mu Yan pursed her lips. He had people monitoring her, so of course, he knew his mom had come.

Upon realizing this, she felt uncomfortable again, and continued, "She said she wants to settle abroad."

"Hmm."

Seeing his indifferent attitude, Mu Yan wanted to say a few words for Yin Manqing, but ultimately held back.

Forget it, she couldn’t even keep her own relationship with him straight right now.

Jiang Jingheng lay on the bed, noticed her looking down, lost in thought, and said, "Don’t overthink it."

Mu Yan glanced at him, then turned away from him again.

Jiang Jingheng stared at the back of her head for a while, silent, then turned off the light.

The room suddenly darkened, becoming extremely quiet, with only the sound of their breathing.

In the past, as soon as someone got into bed, he would hold her and be all over her, but today it didn’t happen. No, not just today, it had been several days already.

So, is he getting tired of her?

Right, men all have a curiosity kink; she no longer holds any allure for him.

Mu Yan pressed her lips together, unwilling in her heart, and suddenly turned around to hug him. Instantly, she felt his body stiffen.
