Chapter 2718: Chapter 1838: Searching for Survivors

Alice Phil sighed softly.

"Then let’s drag them out one by one."

Duanmu Huai snorted coldly. It’s clearly impossible to handle the entire Plague Army on his own; he definitely needs soldiers.

"How do we drag them out?"

"They can’t go without eating, drinking, or getting sick."

Duanmu Huai quickly provided the answer.

"Follow these leads, especially in residential areas. There must be people hiding at home. Use the Bird Divination Tool to lock in... Medea, it’s up to you."

"Got it."

Medea took the Bird Divination Tool from Duanmu Huai, nodded, and then took to the sky again. Meanwhile, Duanmu Huai and the others searched from the ground under Medea’s guidance.

"Ah, master, there are life signs in the underground street, 4 people!"

"Great, let’s go!"

For Duanmu Huai and the others, the zombies along the way weren’t even appetizers. They didn’t even need to make a move; with a slight gesture from Ogis, the foolish zombies that only knew to sprint blindly would voluntarily crash into the indestructible thread, turning themselves into neatly sliced ham.

And as always, Duanmu Huai charged at the forefront, wielding his chainsaw.

"Or ora ora ora... Get out of my way!"

A brutal aura surged from Duanmu Huai as he barreled forward wearing the shadow-condensed Power Armor, like a bowling ball speeding down the lane, smashing the zombies like pins.

Soon, under Medea’s guidance, Duanmu Huai reached the end of the underground street, where the iron gate had been lowered, completely sealing the tunnel.

But a gate of this caliber might stop zombies, but it would never stop Duanmu Huai!

"Boom!"

He broke through the gate like an angry bull, charging inside.

"Aaahhhh!"

Almost simultaneously, a shrill scream echoed, and Duanmu Huai looked up to see three women and one man huddled against the wall, trembling, with wide eyes staring at him.

The three women looked about twenty-something, the man was a company employee in his forties, and all four were speechless, slack-jawed, staring at Duanmu Huai in disbelief.

"Are you the survivors?"

Duanmu Huai fixed his gaze on the four, asking coldly as they seemed to fall into a state of terror and shock.

Hmm, considering things carefully, it’s understandable. After all, a tall, fearsome Giant clad in heavy armor charged in without warning, staring coldly at them. If they hadn’t experienced zombies, they might have fainted in fright.

Finally, one long-haired woman, wearing heavy makeup, gathered courage and asked.

"Are, are you the military? Here to rescue us?"

"We are the Tribunal."

Duanmu Huai stared at the woman and replied.

"As for rescue... you can consider it as such."

"Tribunal? What’s that?"

Fortunately, just then, the other girls also arrived. Compared to Duanmu Huai’s appearance, Mary and the others seemed much friendlier, which eased the survivors. They began to introduce themselves.

The three women worked for the same airline company. They had just finished a night shift and planned to go shopping in the underground street before heading home. Suddenly chaos erupted, and they hid in the store with the man.

"How much do you know about the pandemic?"

Noting they were flight attendants, Duanmu Huai became interested. People who work across countries should know more than reporters, and their airport job would include epidemic instructions.

"Uh..."

Upon Duanmu Huai’s inquiry, the three women exchanged glances.

"We did hear about flu and were instructed to take passengers’ temperatures to ensure no one was ill. If anyone showed symptoms, they must be quarantined. We didn’t expect it to occur in our country..."

"You mean the pandemic originated from other countries?"

"Yes."

The long-haired woman nodded again.

"When we flew that way, we heard there was widespread flu and infection. We just didn’t expect it to turn out like this... Plus, the disease has a long incubation period and rapid onset, so we had to take passengers’ temperatures every three hours. This irritated many passengers, though we had no choice. If anyone were infected, we’d be in trouble too!"

"Long incubation, rapid onset..."

Good grief, you sure are playing a dangerous game, Corrupted Foil.

Duanmu Huai cursed silently. He knew crafting viruses and pandemics was this guy’s specialty. This guy might as well start a plague company...

"Oh oh oh oh oh!!"

Suddenly, the middle-aged employee let out a loud shout, startling everyone. They turned to see the man convulsing and struggling wildly. Witnessing this, the three women scrambled back in fear.
