Her petite frame seemed like it could collapse at any moment, yet she bit her lip and walked out resolutely without looking back.

"Meimei, you don’t look well. Let me take you home," Youyou came to her senses, quickly jogged forward, and reached out to support Meimei.

"No need, I’m fine, just tired and want to sleep. You don’t need to bother with me," Meimei looked at Youyou, her mind unable to calm down, thinking having Youyou accompany her would only make her thoughts run even wilder.

Meimei pushed away Youyou, stumbling and walking out of Dan Tingye’s office, just about to take the elevator when she bumped into a wall of flesh.

She stumbled, the force nearly knocking her back when a pair of strong arms caught her just in time, pulling her forward.

Before Meimei knew it, she saw Dan Tingye’s enchanting face magnified before her eyes.

"Why didn’t you call me when you came? You look terrible, did something happen?" Dan Tingye tightened his grip on her arm, scrutinizing her with his eyes.

He had received a call from Secretary Lin, so he rushed back. A thin layer of sweat didn’t mar his perfect features, but rather added a touch of masculinity that made him seem incredibly noble.

Meimei hadn’t expected Dan Tingye to return so quickly, let alone run into him under these circumstances. The astonishment and panic on her face were too much to conceal.

It was as if someone caught red-handed in the act, more like someone deluded in love having their fantasy ruthlessly exposed... a feeling difficult to describe spread through her heart.

Meimei’s eyes turned red in an instant; she moved her cherry lips, wanting to say something, but couldn’t utter a word.

"Dan Tingye, you’re back," Youyou chased after Meimei, seeing Dan Tingye holding Meimei, raised her eyebrows in surprise.

Upon hearing her voice, Meimei’s body visibly stiffened for a moment, hearing Youyou call Dan Tingye by name, a previous reminder flashed through her mind.

[If you call him by his name like I do, maybe people won’t mistake you for siblings. Those reporters are so annoying, they spread rumors without any basis. How could they see that you two were dating?]

Meimei’s face looked worse; she silently clenched her fist by her side, biting her lip tightly.

Why had she never considered that there might be another reason Youyou never called Dan Tingye ’Big Brother’...

Maybe Youyou was right; she always called him ’Brother Dan Tingye,’ how could he really like his sister. It was her own wishful thinking.

"I want to go home, let me go!"

An embarrassed expression appeared on Meimei’s face; from nowhere, she found the strength to push Dan Tingye away violently and dashed toward the elevator.

"Meimei..."

Dan Tingye hadn’t snapped back to reality when Youyou hurriedly chased after her.

Dan Tingye’s eyes flashed sharply, quickly reached out to catch her wrist, his voice turned deeper, "What happened before I came back?"

"I don’t know either, Meimei was fine when I arrived, then suddenly became unhappy..." Youyou spoke urgently, watching Meimei enter the elevator, suddenly remembered, and lifted her head to look at Dan Tingye.

"Oh, when I came in, I saw Meimei standing in front of your bookshelf looking at the wood carvings!"

"You said she saw what?" Dan Tingye’s body shook, a hint of shock emerged in his deep black eyes!
