Chapter 88: Finding the Mana Rich Land

The car stopped beside an old-looking village that was only about six kilometers away from the city.

The village was small, with narrow dirt roads running between old stone houses and wooden fences that had clearly been repaired countless times.

The streets were warm as villagers moved around while finishing their evening chores.

Amon and Felicia stepped out of the car. This was already the fourth location they had visited.

Felicia closed the car door and looked at him with a slightly annoyed expression. "I’m starting to think you were just spouting nonsense earlier and don’t actually have any skill."

Amon’s eyebrows twitched. "I cured the Duke’s daughter."

Felicia immediately corrected him. "You haven’t really saved her or anything."

"I found what was wrong with her," Amon replied with an annoyed look on his face. "That’s still something."

Felicia had no interest in arguing further. She simply gestured at the land around them. "Just check the place already."

Amon sighed before activating his Merchant’s Divine Insight.

The moment his eyes swept across the area, information suddenly appeared before him.

-----

[Mana-Rich Land: Verdant Heart Village]

[Actual Value: 380,000,000 Gold Coins]

[Description: A naturally mana-enriched region formed around an ancient underground mana current. The land possesses unusually dense ambient mana and can significantly improve the growth of magical plants, crops, and low-level magical creatures.]

-----

Amon stared at the information. His expression went from disbelief to pure happiness in a matter of seconds.

His eyes widened as he looked around at the ordinary-looking village

"Finally!" Amon raised his voice as he stared at the information. "We found it!"

Felicia, who had been wearing an annoyed expression, immediately blinked in surprise. "You found something?"

Amon nodded repeatedly. "This is it."

Felicia looked around the village before walking toward one of the nearby fields.

Amon followed her without hesitation with a happy expression on his face.

Unlike the previous locations, this place didn’t look particularly special at first glance.

There were several small farms surrounding the village, with crops growing normally despite the relatively poor soil.

Felicia crouched beside one of the fields and pressed her finger into the soil.

From behind, Amon’s eyes dropped without meaning to.

The fitted vintage dress stretched tightly across her hips and ass as she bent forward.

The fabric hugged the full, rounded shape of her cheeks, the soft curves clearly outlined by the material pulled.

Even the long skirt couldn’t completely hide how the position made everything sit higher and fuller.

She closed her eyes for a moment before releasing a small amount of mana.

The ground beneath her finger instantly froze.

A thin layer of ice spread across the soil before Felicia quickly withdrew her mana and allowed the ice to disappear.

She stared at the soil thoughtfully. "This place really does have a high amount of mana."

Amon looked at her curiously. "How did you determine that?"

Felicia stood up and brushed some dirt from her fingers. "When there’s a high concentration of mana in an area, spells begin forming much faster."

She pointed toward the soil. "Even a simple freezing spell will activate almost immediately here."

Amon nodded slowly. "That’s actually a nice trick."

Felicia looked at him again as her expression remained doubtful. "Are you sure this place is really mana-rich?"

Amon blinked. "You just checked it yourself."

"I checked the mana concentration, not whether your information is correct."

"What do you mean?"

Felicia sighed as she rubbed her face. "If I want to know for certain, I’ll need to take the risk of buying this place before I have experts examine it."

Amon who wasn’t really holding a deep knowledge about it asked. "Why can’t you just ask an expert to check it first and then buy it?"

Felicia stared at him for several seconds.

"You are unbearably naive." She paused before adding, "And frankly, you’re a little dumb when it comes to business."

Amon replied with an annoyed groan. "Then enlighten me."

Felicia folded her arms. "The experts who check these places always leak information about them for a hefty amount of money."

Amon’s eyebrows rose. "They leak the information?"

"Yes." She pointed toward the village. "If an expert confirms that this is mana-rich land before we purchase it, the owner will suddenly have several interested buyers."

Felicia’s tone became more serious. "Those buyers can offer much more money than we originally planned to spend."

Amon frowned. "So they leak the information for more money?"

Felicia shook her head. "Leaking the information is ten times more profitable for them than actually checking the land."

Amon stared at her. ’This business world is more ridiculous than I thought.’

Felicia sighed before asking again. "Are you one hundred percent sure this place is what you think it is?"

Amon turned around and looked across the village again.

He carefully examined the surrounding land, the vegetation, the mana flowing through the area.

After several seconds, he nodded confidently. "I’m sure."

Felicia’s expression finally relaxed.

"Good." She turned around and walked back toward the car. "I am trusting you here, son."

Amon followed her controlling his urge to say, ’If I am your son then feed me.’

Felicia opened the door, reached inside, and picked up her tablet.

After tapping through several screens, she began checking the ownership records of the surrounding land."It belongs to an old woman."

Amon looked over her shoulder. "She owns the entire area?"

"Most of it." Felicia continued reading. "Apparently, she’s willing to sell."

Amon smiled nodded his head. "That’s good."

Felicia’s expression became slightly complicated.

"But she has a condition." She frowned. "That she only wants to reveal in person."

Amon’s expression became suspicious. "What could it possibly be?"

Felicia turned the tablet off.

"You don’t have to worry about it." She opened the car door. "I’ll look into it."

Amon nodded his head and got into the car with him.

"I’ll drop you home." She said, looking at him.

Amon looked at the village one last time as the drive back to the city was relatively quiet.

---

The car eventually stopped in front of Amon’s apartment building.

Amon stepped out and looked back toward Felicia.

She lowered the window. "I’ll inform you when I have time to check the rest of the locations."

Amon nodded. "It was a pleasure working with you."

Felicia gave him a strange look but didn’t respond. She simply raised the window.

The car slowly drove away, disappearing down the street.

Amon watched it leave before turning toward the apartment building. ’She’s definitely suspicious of me now.’

He shrugged and walked inside. After taking the stairs, Amon reached his apartment and unlocked the door.

The moment he stepped inside, he heard the familiar sound of something being prepared in the kitchen.

Amon walked toward the kitchen and immediately saw Ambrosia standing near the counter.

She was wearing a soft, light-coloured house dress that sat loosely on her shoulders and gently followed the natural curves of her body.

The fabric was thin enough that the afternoon light outlined the soft shape of her breasts and the gentle swell of her hips without being revealing.

Her hair was loosely tied, a few strands falling against her neck, and her expression was calm and warm.

When she noticed him she smiled. "Welcome home."

Amon smiled back. "What are you doing?"

"I’m preparing lunch." Ambrosia turned toward the counter again. "I thought you might be hungry when you came back."

Amon immediately walked toward her. "You shouldn’t be doing that yet."

Ambrosia looked at him in confusion.

Before she could ask what he meant, Amon gently took her by the shoulders and guided her out of the kitchen.

"I’ll make lunch."

Ambrosia frowned. "You’ll burn the food."

"I won’t."

Ambrosia looked at him for a moment before finally giving up. "Fine."

Amon guided her toward the sofa directly opposite the kitchen and made her sit down.

"Stay here and rest."

"I’m not helpless, you know." She said though her face had a lovely smile.

"I know, but you’re still recovering."

Amon picked up the remote and turned on the television for her before heading back toward the kitchen.

Ambrosia glanced toward the screen, then looked back at him with a small smile.

Amon entered the kitchen and rolled up his sleeves. He looked at the ingredients laid out across the counter.

"Alright." He cracked his knuckles lightly before reaching for the first ingredient. "Let’s me cook now."
