10,000x Rebate System: Every Return Makes Me Stronger
Chapter 137: Misunderstanding?
Amon let out a nervous laugh. "Ah... that’s probably not what you think it is."
Felicia didn’t waste another second.
She immediately moved to grab him, her expression becoming frighteningly cold as she lunged across the narrow space between the seats.
Amon quickly moved past her grip and raised his hands. "Wait, wait! Listen to me!"
Felicia didn’t listen.
Mana surged around her body, and several chains suddenly materialized inside the car.
They moved rapidly through the cramped space as they wrapped around Amon’s arms and torso.
Amon’s eyes widened. "Seriously?!"
The chains tightened around his arms.
Amon immediately activated the Dragon Emperor’s Scale Armor, black scales spreading across his skin as the chains scraped against the armor.
He didn’t give Felicia enough time to get a proper hold of him.
Instead, Amon grabbed one of the chains and pulled with all his strength, using its momentum to drag Felicia toward him.
Felicia’s eyes widened slightly.
For a fraction of a second, genuine surprise appeared on her face.
However, she quickly planted both feet against the floor of the car and resisted his pull.
The sudden resistance caused Amon’s body to move toward her instead.
Amon’s eyes flickered. ’Perfect.’
He used the momentum to move over her body before she could properly react.
He grabbed one of her hands with both of his hands while using his legs to secure her other arm.
With a quick rotation of his body, Amon managed to pin her upper body against the seat while her lower body remained awkwardly positioned over his torso.
Felicia stared at him.
There was a brief silence between them before she calmly spoke. "You’re really good at fighting in tight spaces."
Amon gave her an awkward smile. "I have some experience."
Felicia’s expression immediately turned cold again. "I’ll kill you."
Amon’s smile disappeared. "Can you please listen to me for five seconds?"
"You destroyed my daughter’s life."
Amon suddenly became silent as he looked down at her.
Felicia’s voice grew colder as she continued. "She hasn’t even had the chance to achieve anything yet, and you have put a burden inside--"
A notification suddenly rang from the phone.
Felicia paused as her eyes dropped toward the screen still held in her hand.
She stared at the new message for several seconds before her expression slowly changed.
"...She was joking."
Amon froze and stared at Felicia.
Then he slowly exhaled as the tension that had been building inside his body finally disappeared.
’Thank all the Gods up there.’ He glanced toward the car’s ceiling. ’Even though my ass is an atheist.’
Felicia looked back at him, but her expression hadn’t softened.
Even though the misunderstanding had been cleared up, her cold gaze remained fixed on him.
Amon carefully released her and moved away.
He climbed toward the passenger-side door and opened it before stepping outside.
Felicia continued glaring at him from inside the car.
Amon stopped and looked back. "What?"
"You fucked my daughter."
Amon’s mouth opened. "Nothing like that happened."
The lie came out so smoothly that even Amon was almost impressed with himself.
Felicia narrowed her eyes. "You wouldn’t have reacted like that if it didn’t."
Amon opened his mouth before he closed it again.
He had absolutely no argument for that.
Felicia pointed toward the outside. "Get out of my sight."
Amon looked at the phone still in her hand.
Understanding what she wanted, Felicia threw it toward him.
Amon caught it carefully. "Thanks."
He immediately stepped away from the car.
A few workers nearby had apparently noticed the commotion.
Several of them were looking toward Amon with poorly concealed amusement.
As Amon walked away, he heard one of them mutter,
"Boytoy."
Amon stopped before he slowly turned his head toward the worker.
"Go kill yourself!"
The worker’s expression immediately turned pale.
Amon pulled out his phone and called Seraphina.
She answered after a few rings. "Hello?"
Amon rubbed his forehead. "Your mother almost fucked me."
There was a long silence before Seraphina’s voice suddenly became loud.
"What?!"
"Not like that!"
Amon quickly explained what had happened, including how Felicia had been holding his phone when Seraphina’s message appeared.
There was another silence before Seraphina spoke quietly.
"Oh shit." She paused. "...I just wanted to prank you."
Amon closed his eyes and rubbed his temples. "I understand."
He looked toward Felicia’s car. "But now I have no idea how your mother is going to react."
Seraphina’s voice became gentler. "I’ll talk to her."
"Please do."
"I’ll fix it."
Amon wanted to say something else, but decided against it.
There wasn’t much point in making the situation even more complicated.
"I’m sorry."
Amon sighed. "Don’t worry about it."
He ended the call and lowered his phone, and for several seconds, he simply stood there.
’I’m definitely going to get revenge for this.’ He glanced toward Felicia’s car again. ’Just...probably not today.’
---
Amon parked his bike near the area where the inspection team had already started digging.
The engine went silent as he stepped off the Trailbreaker X2 and looked across the field.
It was the same graveyard he had discovered earlier.
Several large sections of soil had already been removed, leaving deep holes across the land while workers carefully examined the samples they had collected.
Amon’s eyes wandered across the field as he eventually spotted Felicia.
She was standing several metres away, speaking with the supervisor.
Amon immediately stopped. ’Nope.’
He decided that approaching her right now would probably be a terrible idea.
Instead, he remained where he was and quietly observed the workers.
Felicia happened to glance in his direction, and their eyes met.
Amon gave her an awkward smile, and Felicia simply stared at him.
Amon quickly looked away. ’Yeah, we’re going to need some time before that conversation becomes normal again.’
He had barely finished the thought when a loud voice suddenly echoed across the field.
"Madam Felicia!"
Several workers turned toward the sound.
One of them was standing beside a freshly dug section of earth, staring into the hole with wide eyes.
"We found something!"
Amon’s attention immediately snapped toward the worker.
Felicia turned around as well.
The worker crouched down and carefully brushed away several layers of dirt around the object.
Amon narrowed his eyes. Judging by the worker’s expression, it wasn’t just another rusty weapon.
Amon slowly walked forward. ’Did my Merchant’s Eyes miss something important?’
