Jiang Ran glanced at Scholar Jingtan, nodded slightly, and said no more.

The matter here could be considered somewhat settled for now.

Everyone then freed themselves from the Thousand Bells and Ten Thousand Cliffs Array and returned to the posthouse.

However, Feng Wu was not in a good state.

He was acting mad, sometimes letting out a sudden shout, other times whispering to himself.

Seeing her junior brother in such a state, Ning Jiuyuan felt her heart twist in anguish. She subconsciously looked to Jiang Ran and the others with pleading eyes.

Unfortunately, everyone was powerless to help.

Jiang Ran's medical skills were mostly used for poisoning and creating antidotes, and Feng Wu's condition was complicated, to say the least.

He might not even be able to cure common illnesses.

So naturally, he couldn't offer any help.

In the end, it was Dao Wuming who offered a word of comfort in a low voice:

"Miss Ning, I happen to know a few Imperial Physicians in the Capital City.

"If nothing else works, after the tea tasting and zither appreciation convention is over, perhaps Young Master Feng could accompany me to the Capital City to seek medical treatment?"

Upon hearing this, Ning Jiuyuan cupped her fists in thanks, then sighed.

"My master and his wife have only this one son, and they have always placed great hopes in him."

"To end up like this... I'm afraid the grief will kill them."

"Sigh, I'm at my wit's end. If even my master and his wife have no solution, then I'm afraid we'll have to trouble you, Elder Dao."

Dao Wuming nodded.

Without another word, the group returned to their rooms at the posthouse.

But after all the entanglements of the first half of the night, no one felt sleepy.

Cheng Tianyang immediately went to the room where the escorted goods were stored to check on the situation.

He was relieved to find that everything was in order.

When the senior master saw them return, he naturally started pestering them with questions.

However, what the "Golden Bell and Silver Thread" did back then was extremely taboo.

Everyone remained as tight-lipped as possible, giving the senior master no opening to probe further.

Jiang Ran greeted them and returned to his room. Before he could close the door, Tang Huayi and Ruan Yuqing filed in one after another.

Jiang Ran watched them in silence, a little bewildered, as one started turning over teacups and the other began lifting his bedcovers.

He stepped outside for a look, confirmed it was indeed his room, and then went back in.

Tang Huayi was staring at the teapot, sighing in vain.

Earlier, Jiang Ran couldn't even find a sip of tea... and it wasn't about to materialize out of thin air now.

"I say, you two..."

Jiang Ran grimaced. "This is my room, isn't it?"

"It's your room, so we can't come in?"

Tang Huayi glanced up at Jiang Ran.

"..."

Jiang Ran nodded. "You're getting more and more brazen."

"Go on, kill me if you have the guts."

Tang Huayi jutted out her chin, acting just like a rogue.

Ruan Yuqing shot her a look, not knowing whether to laugh or cry, and said to Jiang Ran:

"Young Hero Jiang, knowing your personality, the matter with Xuanyuan One Slash should have been settled tonight."

"Why did you suddenly postpone it until tomorrow?"

Jiang Ran chuckled at her words, walked over to the table, sat down, and rubbed his neck.

"Is my personality that obvious?"

"You've always been decisive, finishing today's business today. Although you're constantly getting embroiled in trouble, you hate dragging things out."

"Besides, Xuanyuan One Slash isn't even a wanted criminal."

"For you to drag it out like this, you must have some other motive."

Tang Huayi had clearly figured Jiang Ran out.

"It's for the Thunderbolt Hall, isn't it?"

Jiang Ran clicked his tongue.

"I hope Chi Lin doesn't know me as well as you two do."

"So that's it."

Ruan Yuqing nodded.

"You previously guessed that the people from the Death Building were most likely commissioned by the Thunderbolt Hall, which led to the battle in Death Town."

"If they're really the ones who instigated the Blood Saber Hall to attack you now, then they're just repeating their old tricks."

"You're delaying for a night—no, it's not even a full night anymore."

"There are less than four hours until dawn."

"Are you delaying for these few hours in order to find them?"

Before Jiang Ran could speak, Tang Huayi shook her head repeatedly.

"I guess not!"

"Oh?"

Jiang Ran glanced at her. "Then what do you think it is?"

"A reason."

Tang Huayi looked at Jiang Ran.

"With your martial arts, there's no reason to postpone a fight with an already injured Xuanyuan One Slash for three days."

"Unless you have a reason you absolutely must do so."

"Xuanyuan One Slash refused to wait three days, so you delayed for a few hours..."

"If the people from Thunderbolt Hall are nearby watching this, they'll definitely wonder, why are you delaying for that specific amount of time?"

"Or, what exactly happened to you down there?"

"Were you injured? Are you not confident you can take down Xuanyuan One Slash?"

"If that's the case, then their chance... wouldn't that be it?"

Upon hearing this, Ruan Yuqing looked at Tang Huayi with a flash of understanding.

"So that was Young Hero Jiang's plan. Young Hero Li is truly brilliant."

Tang Huayi shot Jiang Ran a sidelong glance, her eyes showing a hint of smugness.

Jiang Ran didn't know whether to laugh or cry at this.

But he didn't deny it, just nodded slightly.

"As expected of you."

'As expected of the little demoness from the Demon Sect, truly skilled at scheming and manipulating people's hearts.'

Jiang Ran's words were as good as an admission of their speculation.

The three of them exchanged a look and then smiled.

"In that case, we'll need to plan tomorrow's events carefully, or else we can't guarantee there won't be mistakes."

"We do need to weigh our options. If someone really shows up, we can't let them slip through the net."

The three of them huddled together, whispering for a good while.

After a long while, Ruan Yuqing and Tang Huayi walked out of the room, their faces grave.
