World’s Cutest Alchemist

Chapter 158 - Damn You Raccoon (3)

Cassian lifted the potion and twirled it around, looking at the bottle with interest. Though he wasn’t an awakener, he had drank many potions before. He noted that this bottle definitely had a better aesthetic than the others.

“The raccoon is her…And the mouse refer to her girlfriend.” Cassian said, “This definitely fits her.” He chuckled.

Like Colby, he had also gotten an handwritten letter. He planned on replying with his own letter later. For now though, he really wanted to test out this potion.

Since he wasn’t an awakener, he couldn’t see the description himself, however, Stella had kindly sent a message in the group chat saying exactly what the description said.

And well, he expected nothing less.

Even before she awakened she had that kind of humor.

Uncapping the potion, although he was curious about what happens to the bouncy ball, he was also curious about how it affected regular everyday items.

So, he didn’t immediately pick up the bouncy ball. Though, he was sure that Colby and Bryson would do that. In fact, he was a hundred percent confident that Bryson was probably going to skip everything else and immediately test it.

“Let’s see…” Cassian mumbled, looking around for what could be fun to bounce.

His eyes locked onto a few things, most notably his phone, stainless steel bottle, wooden knife, and pillow.

He decided to send a quick text to Stella just to confirm his phone wouldn’t break or anything.

[Me: Does the potion ruin any electronics or anything?]

[Stella (gremlin): Should be fine? Unless you’re trying to make an AC unit bouncy or something, I’m not too sure about that one.]

[Me: My phone is fine?]

[Stella (gremlin): Yep! Mine was when I tested it.]

[Me: Got it, thanks.]

[Stella (gremlin): (raccoon cheer icon)]

With the confirmation his phone wouldn’t become useless, he felt more confident in using the potion.

He flipped over is phone and poured a fifth of potion onto the back.

“So it really does absorb into anything…” He said quietly.

After putting the bottle down, instead of throwing his phone on the ground, he tossed it up and caught it.

“Doesn’t feel any different initially.” He commented, “Welp, if my phone breaks, Stella’s getting a long earful.”

He threw his phone into the air and watched as it plummeted towards the floor. He was a little nervous, what if his phone just cracks and shatters?

He winced as he watched the phone hit the floor. That wince turned to a breath of relief as the phone bounced off the floor like a bouncy ball.

“It really works exactly as advertised.” He commented, catching his phone and bouncing it a few more times.

“How long does this last again?”

And just as those words left his mouth, his phone plummeted towards the floor and landed flat on it.

“…”

“…”

“…”

“It didn’t bounce back.” He said after several moments.

Sighing, he crouched down and picked his phone up, checking to make sure the screen hadn’t cracked.

Thankfully, it wasn’t. But, this did remind him that he had to be careful of the time when bouncing things. Stella had said that the bounciness can last up to five minutes depending on how much of the potion was used.

Keeping that in mind, he tested the other objects he had in mind, before determining that, oddly enough, his phone was the most fun to bounce. It just fit nicely in his hand and was satisfying to catch.

Finally, with that settled, he moved onto the last thing he’d test. The bouncy ball.

He picked up the bouncy ball that was still in the box and bounced it a few times, confirming it was a regular one you could buy at the dollar store.

“Alright. Time to finally see what happens…” He commented before pouring the remainder of the potion onto the ball. Through his previous tests, he knew that the bounciness would only last around a minute.

If you discover this narrative on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the violation.

Cassian casually lob tossed the ball.

And well…

It went about as expected. For everyone other than Cassian.

He took a deep breath and blinked a few times as he looked at the mess.

That kindly worded and heartfelt letter he was going to write earlier was going to have to undergo a drastic change. Because now, he thought Stella deserved a few less than kind words.

…

Bryson heard a knock at the door and immediately went to check it. If fortune favored him today, that should be the gift Stella had sent.

And, luck be told, it was, in fact, a package. He picked it up, heading to his living room before opening it.

He was met with a nicely wrapped present with a label on it that read: ‘From Stella, to Bryson’.

“Huh, her handwriting’s gotten better.” He said.

After unwrapping it and opening the box, he immediately locked onto the potion inside. There was also a ball and a letter that he’d read later.

For now, he couldn’t wait, he HAD to find out what happened to the bouncy ball.

Picking up the potion and ball, he bounced the ball a few times, confirming it’s bounciness.

“Good, she didn’t mess with it.” He nodded. Honestly, he half-expected her to send a defective bouncy ball just to mess with him.

Uncapping the potion, he first took a whiff of it, finding that it smelled oddly appetizing.

“Hm…She said that it wasn’t meant for consumption.” He said.

But, it wouldn’t kill him, right?

Bryson lifted the potion to his lips and took a sip.

“…”

“…It tastes pretty good.” He commented after a moment.

Licking his lips, he even went for a second sip before remembering that he only had this one potion.

“Well…Just one more.” He said, taking a third sip.

After that, he couldn’t wait anymore. He poured it all onto the ball.

Instantly, he threw the ball at the ground and it didn’t take him more than half a second to regret it.

The ball flew all over the living room like an animal trying to escape an enclosed space.

“…Stella, you’re so fucking dead.” Bryson muttered to himself, looking at the aftermath.

Bryson had a lot of explaining to do to his parents when they returned home.

As he was thinking about how to get Stella back for this, his eyes glanced at that letter she had wrote.

He made his way towards it, picked it up and read it.

‘Dear Bryson, first and foremost, merry Christmas. I can’t believe we’ve already known each other for more than ten years now…Okay, now that you’ve stopped reading. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Knowing you, you probably ignored this letter, right? If so, then you know what I’m laughing about! If not, then, it’s because I thought of a funny joke. Anyways, I truly did appreciate your words when we ate together. Love, Stella.’

And at the bottom was an autograph.

‘Raccoon, the Cutest Little Bomber 0˶ᵕ˶0♡’

Bryson bit his lip and slightly crumpled the edge of the paper.

“…Alright, you better prepare yourself for the next time I see you.”

…

A man most commonly referred to as: Anonymous, looked at the potion that appeared in front of him.

“So, this is her first original creation on the exchange, huh.” He said, inspecting the bottle.

If he hadn’t seen her market it before, he would’ve never guessed that this would be the type of potion she’d create. Honestly, he expected her first original potion sold to be some kind of explosive potion. Like those dynokali potions of hers. Or, if not that, at least a more conventional potion.

But, perhaps her going the unexpected route was for the better.

Uncapping the potion, he poured a little bit on the table.

After the liquid was absorbed, he pressed his finger against the spot and noted the springiness.

“Interesting.” He commented.

Depending on how effective it was, he could already think of a few ways to use this potion as utility.

But, that would also depend on how easily they are to obtain. As of now, it’s too uncertain whether or not there will be a steady supply. So, he wasn’t thinking too hard about how to incorporate them into his strategy.

“Let’s see…”

A small ball appeared in front of him. Like everyone else, he had a bit of interest in what happens to the bouncy ball.

He picked the ball up and poured a bit of the potion onto it.

Immediately, he could tell something had changed.

“The potency?” He questioned with a curious look.

After looking at it for a few moments, he decided to just toss it in the air.

The ball arched towards the ground before starting to go on its chaotic rampage.

“Pfft,” Anonymous chuckled before reaching out and catching it between his fingers, completely stopping its wrath, “So, that’s why she made it a cliffhanger.”

He suddenly felt a little worried. If she was like this from the start, just how much chaotic would she be in the future?

…

On a popular livestreaming site, a popular streamer named: Glomp862 had set his stream title to: ‘BOUNCY POTION BOUNCY BALL TESTING!’

“Chat, can you believe it? In just five more minutes, we’ll finally know what happens to the bouncy ball!” Glomp said.

His camera was on, showing a good-looking young man in his twenties standing in his streaming room. The walls were decorated with plaques and there were multiple bookshelves filled with figurines and limited edition merchandise. His room looked nice and aesthetic.

- 5 more minutes!!

- Hold!!

- Bouncy ball? I was bouncy ball once…

- Why can’t time go faster?

- What’re the chances Glomp doesn’t get to buy one and we’re all wasting our time? There’s only 5,000 of them after all.

“No! Don’t even say that! You’re manifesting bad luck! I’m getting it for sure! Don’t you remember I got an S-tier reaction time on that awakeners test we did?”

- You failed to mention that every attempt before that you got D-tier LOL

- Manifesting all the bad luck!

- I believe!

- Any other time, I would hope that he fails, but, for once, I want him to win cause I NEED TO SEE WHAT HAPPENS TO THE BOUNCY BALL!!!

“Trust me! There’s no way I’m not getting one!”

Glomp bantered with chat until eventually, there was only thirty seconds left until the release.

“Okay, everyone! Quiet! I need everyone to pray that I get this.”

- Praying!

- Please, please, please.

- I’ve never wanted streamer to win any more than today.

12:00.

Glomp looked focused, he was staring in the air in front of him. Chatters thought that he was trying to purchase one.

But…

“…It’s not released yet.” Glomp said.

Even twenty seconds after the clock hit 12, the potions still hadn’t released.

“…Was Raccoon trolling-” Just as he went to speak, the notification came.

[5,102 Bouncy Bouncy Potions have been listed.]

“AH! THEY’RE OUT!” He screeched and quickly tried to purchase one.

- BUY!!

- BUY!

- BUY!!!!

- GET IT!!

- PLEASE!!!

[This item has already been purchased.]

“No! Come on!! Please!”

And several attempts later, a potion appeared in front of him.

[Purchase Successful]

“YES!!!” He shouted at the top of his lungs, “I GOT IT!!”

- LETS GO!!!

- YES!!

- WOO!!

- BOUNCY BALL! NOW!

Glomp picked up the bottle and showed it to the camera,

“Look, isn’t it beautiful?”

- It’s so cute!

- Fitting of Raccoon to have a raccoon design lol

- I like it!

- BOUNCY BALL!!! NOW!!

- Is the glass high quality?

“Yes! The glass is pretty good quality,” Glomp said, tapping the side, “Do you all remember that post she made when she said she was looking for glassblowers? I think she hired a good one.”

He glanced at the view count and saw that over 60,000 people were watching. This was the most viewers he had ever gotten before.

“Alright!” Glomp continued, “Before we get to the bouncy ball, let me read the description for you all.”

After reading the description to chat, he picked up a ball and uncapped the potion.

“Finally! Let’s get to it, are you all ready?”

- HURRY!!

- PLEASEEE!

- SHOW WHAT HAPPENS TO THE BOUNCY BALL!

- READY!!

Glomp took a deep breath and poured the entire potion onto the ball then gently set the bottle down.

“Okay, everyone, I’m gonna do it.” He said.

The viewer count started rising in real time. From 60,000 to 70,000 to 80,000.

Glomp took a deep breath,

“Three…Two…Now, what if I just ended stream right here?” He said with a smirk.

- Unsubbing.

- DIE

- I SWEAR TO GOD

- Please don’t.

“Kidding! Kidding!” He quickly said, “Alright, for real this time. Three…two…one.”

He tossed the ball in the air and watched with anticipation as it headed towards the ground.

That anticipation turned to shock and then to panic quickly.

- OMG

- HOLY SHIT

- WTF

- LMAOO

- LOLOLOL

“NO! STOP!” Glomp screamed, trying to catch the ball. He wasn’t even in his streaming persona anymore, this was actually him panicking.

The ball collided with everything in the room, figures got fell to the ground, bottles and cans were knocked over. One bottle that was knocked over was open and filled with liquid, so, that was now all over the floor and desk.

“STOP! STOP! STOP!” He screamed, reaching for the ball. But, it simply bounced off his hand, continuing its onslaught.

- LOLOLOL

- LOLOLOL

- LOL!

- HAHAHAH!

Eventually, five minutes later, the ball had lost its ‘super’ bounciness, reverting to a regular bouncy ball when Glomp finally caught it.

“…” Glomp picked up the ball and looked at his destroyed room.

- Wow, your room looks a little different, Glomp, what happened?

Glomp took a deep breath as he glanced at the chat. He closed his eyes for a solid moment before looking up at the ceiling,

Inhaling a deep breath, he shouted,

“GOD DAMN YOU, RACCOON!”
