World-saving Plan: The Only Savior
Chapter 2012 - 81: The Demon Princess’s Goodwill (Part 2)
There’s no way around it, in this universe, only Zhang Xiaoman has mastery over the First Sequence. As the lone master, he’s unable to receive a clear answer on anything related to the First Sequence. Cultivating related skills is even harder; everything must be explored on his own.
Yet thinking about this seems a bit premature. Zhang Xiaoman has only stepped into the Middle Extraordinary Level recently, a mere few decades worth. To now think about rushing into the Upper Transcendent Level, or even mastering the First Sequence, seems a bit hasty.
"Snap!"
A paw landed on Zhang Xiaoman’s shoulder; it was Ni Yang’s claw.
"Kid, you’re really a hidden gem. You’ve even mastered the Great Dao Laws. I was worried the Heavenly Dao Laws would block you before, but no wonder you’ve advanced rapidly without any bottlenecks in your cultivation. Does this mean if you forcefully amass Spiritual Power, you can soon break through to a higher realm?"
Zhang Xiaoman nodded, but then spread his hands with some helplessness.
"Forcibly amassing Spiritual Power—sounds easy. But at my level, is it really that simple to achieve effortlessly?"
Ni Yang nodded, sharing the sentiment.
"Indeed, unless you manage to acquire heavenly treasures, it’s quite hard to make significant breakthroughs in a short time by relying solely on cultivation. Your Star Pattern, however, is impressive. If you can continue imprinting, you might rapidly advance one level in power utilizing that strength."
Zhang Xiaoman indeed had this intention. From the start, he was searching for materials to imprint the 5th Star Pattern, but the matter with Ni Yang had delayed him.
Luckily now, he has gathered all the materials. Next, he just needs to find Huan Cai to assist him in imprinting.
Nearby, the Demon Princess pondered upon hearing the conversation between the man and the dragon.
After a moment of silence, she suddenly said:
"If you want to imprint the Star Pattern, maybe I can help."
Zhang Xiaoman looked at her in surprise.
"Lady Demon Princess... you can imprint Star Patterns too?"
He hadn’t expected her to say this, as this wasn’t one of the simpler, earlier Star Patterns. This was the 5th Star Pattern, much more challenging than those before.
Huan Cai had once told him that aside from herself, no one else in this world could imprint it.
"No need to be formal, call me Zizi just like Mao Dan does."
The Demon Princess smiled gently.
Ni Yang wasn’t pleased at this.
"Zizi, can you stop calling my nickname in front of outsiders? Can you spare me some face?"
The Demon Princess shook her head with a smile. Zhang Xiaoman could tell her smile was genuine. She seemed to enjoy moments like this.
"I haven’t learned Star Pattern imprinting, though learning temporarily isn’t impossible. But helping you imprint the 5th Star Pattern might take some time."
"Although I can’t imprint it, I can help you gather materials. I heard imprinting the 5th Star Pattern may not necessarily succeed, but you won’t have to worry about materials with me. If you’re willing, you can bring your friend here to help you with imprinting."
Zhang Xiaoman was curious about her offer and asked:
"If I bring others along, will it have any impact on you here?"
"A few people coming along will be fine. Besides, that young lass is quite steady—having her here poses no issues."
Considering her words, Zhang Xiaoman agreed joyfully and immediately bowed ceremoniously:
"In that case, I gladly accept your offer. I’ll fetch her right away; please bear with me during the upcoming time, respected senior."
Although Zhang Xiaoman had gathered the materials, Huan Cai had also mentioned that imprinting this time might not definitely succeed. If there’s failure or other risks, having a Great Power like the Demon Princess here provides a safety net.
"By the way, I have something I wish to inquire about—the matter concerning the Demon Lord. Why did he fall, why are you trapped here, and is there any way I can help you escape?"
After his torrent of questions, the Demon Princess simply watched him with a teasing smile, saying:
"Ji Xing, you’re asking more than just one question."
Feeling a bit embarrassed, Zhang Xiaoman scratched his head.
"Please forgive me, I just care about the situation here. If it’s inconvenient for you to answer, then it’s alright."
The Demon Princess waved her hand, saying:
"I will tell you about these matters eventually, but now isn’t the time. Fetch that girl first, and once the Star Pattern is imprinted, I’ll speak to you in detail."
Zhang Xiaoman was puzzled by her cryptic play—why she insisted on waiting until after the imprinting. But since she stated so, he had no choice but to seek out Huan Cai.
Fortunately, though this space is on the edge of the Chaotic Void, it’s still within the realm of the Second Universe. With the Demon Princess not having set any prohibitions on him, his Teleportation Ability remains functional.
To expedite the speed, Zhang Xiaoman left a Star Alliance Marker at the edge of the Chaotic Void. Using it to open a teleportation portal, he directly brought Huan Cai over.
When Huan Cai was brought over, she wore a bewildered expression. She had been leisurely absorbing Spiritual Power from the World Tree Seed in her vacation lodge when suddenly Zhang Xiaoman appeared, saying the materials were ready and the imprinting could now proceed.
Had the Chaos Spirit Flower been found so quickly? It’s a resource at the Unlimited Level! How little time had he spent out there to acquire it so effortlessly? Huan Cai had assumed she’d wait for a while, even with her role as a Dream Master and the abundance of Star Dust at Ji Xing’s place, she doubted he’d gather all materials.
Now, given the ongoing fusion of the two universes, new Chaos Spirit Flowers appearing isn’t unthinkable. It might just be good fortune he found them.
Thinking this, Huan Cai set aside her doubts and prepared to start imprinting the Star Patterns.
Then Zhang Xiaoman provided a teleportation portal, informing her that on the portal’s other side was the site prepared for imprinting, and their cooperation could begin.
This immediately alarmed Huan Cai.
Though she and Zhang Xiaoman had an agreement, the trust wasn’t unbreakable. Rashly entering a portal provided by someone else is perilous for ordinary people.
Of course, this refers to ordinary individuals. Huan Cai isn’t ordinary—she is one of the three main deities from the Aigus Divine Domain, the Life Goddess, with genuine Middle-level Transcendent power. Plotting against her wouldn’t be easy.
After spending time with Zhang Xiaoman, Huan Cai gradually discovered he’s not as she initially thought—a being at the Upper Transcendent Level, nor the fabled Demon Lord. Her being suppressed arose from attribute restraint.
This revelation made her somewhat dissatisfied. Yet given their collaborative status now, she refrained from expressing it.
Huan Cai had been holding her breath, now using the opportunity. Even if the portal hid traps, she could escape given their equivalent power levels and even pull a trick on him.
She had secretly prepared powerful contingency plans, ready to counter any changes immediately.
Contrary to following a scripted drama, the portal held no traps but opened into a familiarly foggy domain, leaving her puzzled.
