Chapter 116: Rank Three Skill (Part 2)

Evan was startled when Nero suddenly lowered its head and brought its face closer to him.

For a moment, he thought it was going to attack him, and all of his strength gathered in his right fist, ready to use the Sky Fall Skill to show this guy some stars from up close.

Alice, who was sitting on Nero’s back also thought it was planning to attack Evan and immediately jumped down, ready to stop it.

But soon, Evan and the others were completely stunned as Nero not only didn’t attack him, but even began to rub its giant face against his chest affectionately.

"This..." Liam and the others were shocked, and their eyes opened wide.

"Why is this arrogant bird acting like a pup in front of him?" Liam couldn’t help but ask.

Alice and the others did not answer his question, as they were equally confused.

Evan looked at the face, which was bigger than his entire body, and slowly raised his hand to pat it.

"It seems I am not the one who smells like rotten eggs..." Evan threw back the words that Erza had spoken to him earlier. "Next time, bathe properly before trying to pat a bird."

After saying that, Evan jumped and easily climbed onto Nero’s back.

Erza stood on the ground with a dumbfounded look.

Although Alice and the others were curious about Nero’s behavior, they didn’t waste their time either.

"Let’s go, Erza," Alice said and helped her climb onto Nero’s back.

Liam and Kevin followed after them, and they also climbed onto its back.

Once all of them were on its back, Alice patted Nero’s head and told it to fly towards Evergreen City.

Hearing Alice’s command, Nero let out a loud shriek and unfolded its giant wings.

With a single flap of its wings, its giant body lifted from the ground and shot forward.

Evan stood at the back beside Liam and Kevin, looking down at the rapidly changing scenery beneath him with curious eyes.

’Its speed is far faster than mine...’ Evan thought after observing Nero’s flying speed.

Just then, he felt many gazes on him and turned his head, only to see Alice and the others looking at him with questioning eyes.

At first, Evan didn’t pay them any mind. But when they continued to stare at him even after five minutes, his mouth twitched, and he spoke helplessly.

"I know I am handsome, but please, can you guys stop staring at me like this? My skin is not thick, so I am feeling very embarrassed."

The eyes of Alice and the others widened when they heard Evan, and they looked at him with faces that seemed to ask, ’Doesn’t your conscience hurt when you spout such nonsense?’

Evan didn’t care about their looks and sat down calmly.

"I am actually equally confused about why this guy acted so friendly with me," He finally answered their confusion. "If I have to guess, it might be because it’s a Magical Beast that utilizes the Wind Element, and my affinity with the wind element is also very high. Maybe it sensed my closeness with the Wind Element, and that’s why it’s acting friendly toward me."

"High affinity with the Wind Element..." Alice raised an eyebrow at Evan’s words. "Normally, it doesn’t matter to Magical Beasts whether your affinity with the power they use is higher or not. But since Nero was raised in a Beast Taming Hub since childhood, its nature is different from other Magical Beasts. Maybe it’s thinking you are similar to it, and that’s why it’s acting friendly with you."

Liam’s expression turned strange when he heard Alice’s words.

"You mean Nero is thinking Evan is also a Magical Beast like it, but just looks a bit different?"

"I am not certain, but it’s a possibility."

"Hahaha!" Erza burst into laughter and looked at Evan mockingly. "You were right, you are really so handsome that even a bird mistook you for its own kind."

Evan’s mouth twitched upon hearing Erza’s banshee-like laughter, and he rolled his eyes, deciding to ignore her.

He moved a bit further away from her and lay down on Nero’s back, looking at the rapidly changing sky.

He was actually very tired, both mentally and physically.

The things that happened to him in the past few hours were completely unexpected.

He first had to fight against a Rank Two Lizardman King, and right after defeating it, he was sent to a completely different planet.
