"How about I break this barrier for you guys?"

Hearing Evan’s words, not only Alice, Erza, Liam, and Kevin, but even the three Dark Elves were baffled.

The Dark Elevs had noticed him with Alice and the others, but they didn’t care too much about him despite his human identity.

But now that he was speaking so confidently about breaking the barrier, they couldn’t help but give him an extra look.

However, when they sensed that he wasn’t even Level 40, their eyes twitched slightly, and all three of them rolled their eyes.

"I thought he was some hidden powerhouse among them, but this..." The female Dark Elf spoke with a speechless look, giving Evan a smile full of disdain.

The other two also nodded and didn’t bother to argue with him.

"Hey, buddy, I know we didn’t give you a chance to speak earlier and you wanted to show that you were also here. But please, can’t you say something that wouldn’t make people laugh at you?" Liam spoke in an earnest voice.

Evan’s mouth twitched slightly upon hearing Liam’s words, and now he was certain this guy was someone who liked to court death.

It was a good thing his temper was good. Otherwise, he might have slapped this guy to death long ago.

Alice, on the other hand, did not deny Evan’s words, and after a moment of hesitation, asked in a low voice.

"Are you sure you can break it?"

Evan touched the barrier with his hand, and after considering his current strength, he felt it was doable, so he nodded.

"I should be able to. Besides..." He paused and looked at them. "You guys are already thinking about retreating. So even if I fail to break it, it’s not like you will lose anything, so I might as well give it a try."

There were two reasons Evan thought about helping them.

First, he just wanted to see if he could really break this barrier with his current strength.

Second, and the most important reason, was that since he was going to stay with them for the time being, it was better to build a good relationship just in case.

Alice had already mentioned that it was her mother who held the Supreme Entrance Authority Token for their planet.

And since he would be meeting her soon, it was better to help her daughter a bit so that she wouldn’t make things difficult for him when he met her.

Hearing Evan’s words, Alice found them reasonable, so she nodded.

"Alright, you can give it a try. If you fail, we will retreat first and inform the academy about the situation."

Hearing Alice agree, Kevin and the others looked at each other but did not say anything.

Although they felt it was impossible for Evan to break such a powerful barrier with his current strength, their thoughts were similar to what Evan had just said.

Even if he couldn’t break it, they really wouldn’t lose anything.

Evan nodded and looked back at the barrier.

"You guys should back away, or you might be caught in the aftermath..." As he spoke, two wings appeared on Evan’s back, and with a single flap of them, he shot towards the sky.

"Holy shit!" Liam couldn’t help but exclaim when he saw this. "This guy has a skill that allows him to fly."

Kevin also looked at the green wings on Evan’s back with a stunned look and asked Erza.

"Erza, I remember you looking for flying skills in the academy skill library sometime ago. Do you recognize what skill he is using?"

Erza stared at the wide wings for a few seconds before shaking her head.

"I’m not sure. The skills I had looked at had a lot of restrictions on them. Unless one becomes a Rank Two Evolver and has high Mana, it’s very difficult to freely utilize flying skills. But looking at him, it seems his skill doesn’t have many restrictions."

Alice, on the other hand, frowned when she saw the wings on Evan’s back, and a confused look appeared in her eyes.

’Those wings... Are they Wings of Wind? The same skill that Mother uses?’

Alice tried to look at the wings closely, but remembering what Evan said about backing away from the barrier, she came back to her senses and immediately spoke to Erza and the others.

"Let’s get back. If his attack succeeds in breaking the barrier, we will finish the fight as soon as possible. If it fails, we will retreat immediately."

Kevin and the others’ expressions turned serious at Alice’s words, and all of them ran out of the clearing where the base was located.

The three Dark Elves inside the barrier were stunned when they saw what was happening outside and did not know what to say.

All three of them raised their heads and saw Evan floating right above the barrier.

"What’s your thought? Do you think he can break the barrier?" The female Dark Elf asked in a serious voice.

"Even though we are strengthened by Chaos Essence, it will still take some effort for us to break this barrier..." Another Dark Elf spoke in a low voice. "Now tell me, do you think a brat who is not even Level 40 can break this barrier?"

The other two Dark Elves did not say anything, as their silence was their answer.

****

’50% should be enough.’

Floating above the barrier, Evan thought as he took out his Arch Eagle Crossbow.

He aimed his crossbow at the barrier below and used the Wind Monarch skill to create a Wind Bolt using fifty percent of his Mana.

After killing the Lizardman King, Evan’s total Mana points had already exceeded 500 points.

Even fifty percent of his Mana was something that many peak Rank One Evolvers didn’t possess.

As he used the Wind Monarch skill, the surrounding wind, imbued with his Mana, surged inside the crossbow in his hand and formed a light-green bolt.

As he poured more of his Mana into the Wind Bolt, its color began to change. From the initial light green, it went to normal green and then to dark green.

As more and more Mana was poured into the bolt, a devastating aura began to spread throughout the surroundings.

Soon, the aura of the bolt reached the point that even Liam and the others, who were far away from the barrier could feel it, making them feel a jolt in their hearts.

"What the hell is that thing?" Liam asked in a trembling voice, his eyes fixed on the glowing green bolt in the sky.

Kevin gulped and spoke in a dry voice.

"Just how much Mana does this guy have? Isn’t he just a Level 35 Evolver?"

Alice remained silent and stared at Evan with shocked eyes.

She could see that his face didn’t look exhausted despite using such a large amount of Mana, indicating that the total Mana he possessed was too large and he wasn’t affected by this consumption.

The faces of all three Dark Elves inside the barrier also turned pale when they sensed the terrifying aura coming from the bolt, their legs shaking slightly.

Evan looked at his remaining Mana, and seeing that he had used up fifty percent of it, he stopped.

Feeling the devastating aura coming from the bolt, even he couldn’t help but gulp.

’I hope I am not overdoing it...’ He thought and, after hesitating for a moment, activated the Thunder Ring he was wearing.

Crackle! Crackle! ——

Arcs of lightning flashed around him as the Thunder Field covered an area of twenty meters around him.

Evan controlled the Thunder Field and imbued his Mana into it.

Once his Mana got mixed into the Thunder Field, he tried to imbue the lightning into the bolt.

At first, he wasn’t certain if it would work.

But when he saw arcs of lightning appearing around the Wind Bolt, his lips arched upward slightly.

Crackle! Crackle! ——

Lightning arcs cracked around the Wind Bolt, and its terrifying aura became even more powerful.

Evan looked at the horrified faces of the Dark Elves inside the barrier and showed them a sweet smile before shooting the bolt.

Right before the bolt left the crossbow, he opened his mouth and muttered in a low voice.

"Absolute Bolt!"

---) Absolute Bolt: Upon usage, the user can grant their fired bolt the effect of Absolute Hit. Under the effect of Absolute Hit, the power of the Bolt is increased by two times, and the bolt will definitely hit the target. Can be used three times a day.

Swish! Crackle!

The bolt turned into a streak of purple-green light and shot towards the barrier at lightning speed.

Evan was hovering one hundred meters above the barrier, but it took the bolt less than a fraction of a second to reach the barrier and strike it.

As soon as the bolt hit the barrier, its Piercing effect activated, and its tip dug into the barrier.

But right after digging a few centimeters, it came to an abrupt halt.

The entire barrier rippled violently, but seeing that the barrier had successfully stopped that terrifying-looking bolt, a look of joy appeared on the faces of the Dark Elves.

Evan looked at everything expressionlessly and turned around to fly away.

As he flew away, a gleam flashed in his eyes, and he uttered in a low voice.

"Bang!"

As soon as he spoke, the Explosion effect of the bolt activated, and the next second, the bodies of all three Dark Elves stiffened as they felt a sense of impending doom like never before.

They looked at the glowing bolt stuck at the top of the barrier, and the next instant—

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!

A terrifying explosion engulfed everything.
