Wizard: Starting from the Skill Tree

Chapter 1106 - 895: Safehouse 2

He walked to the stone wall, holding the key in his palm, and infused it with a trace of Magic Power.

The ancient patterns on the surface of the key began to slowly flow, and he could clearly sense that deep within this seemingly impenetrable gray-white stone wall, an invisible "door" was quietly opening.

He reached out his hand to press against the stone wall, and his fingertips passed through without any hindrance. Then, he took a step forward, through the stone wall, entering a small stone chamber.

The interior of the stone chamber was extremely simple, with smooth gray-white stone on all sides. The stone walls had no cracks or patterns, only a faint energy light film silently flowing on the surface, maintaining the protective barrier of the entire stone chamber.

Aside from that, there was only a stone bed in the room.

Duke sat down on the stone bed and glanced at the key in his hand. Although he only had twelve hours, having an absolutely safe place to sit down and catch his breath in this crisis-ridden labyrinth was already considered a luxury.

He put the key away and closed his eyes, leaning against the stone wall, beginning to seize the moment to meditate and recover.

Duke submerged his consciousness into the Light God Court, as he hadn’t examined the changes inside the court carefully for quite some time.

From being chased by Zaied in the second layer mining district, to activating the teleportation and escaping into the third layer, to cautiously exploring the labyrinth environment upon landing, he barely had a moment’s rest.

As his feet stepped onto the soft grass of the Divine Court, a warm and rich life aroma came rushing towards him.

He raised his head, looking towards the center of the Spring of Life, his pupils slightly widening.

The World Tree had already grown taller than him, its slender and upright trunk emerging straight from the water, with gray-brown bark revealing natural textures, no longer bearing the smooth and tender quality of its seedling period.

The canopy branched out into dozens of long branches, each adorned with thumb-sized leaves, gently swaying in layers under the court’s gentle glow.

The edges of the leaves emitted very faint golden light threads, leaving behind transient light trails in the air with each sway.

At the base of the trunk, the robust roots plunged deep into the soil beneath the water, covering the entire spring bottom with a light golden root network.

Numerous fine aerial roots extended from the edges of this root network, gently drifting at the boundary between the water and the soil, each drift stirring up a very subtle golden ripple in the water.

Surrounding the whole tree, the concentration of Life Energy had reached a level almost condensing into a faint green mist visible to the naked eye, with each breath feeling like Life Force flowing into the lungs via the nasal cavity, circulating throughout the body along the blood vessels.

He walked beneath the tree, reaching out to press against the trunk.

The touch of the bark was warm and smooth, with the ability to clearly perceive through the palm that colossal and gentle life energy inside the trunk pulsating in a very slow yet powerful rhythm.

He immersed his consciousness into the Spiritual Sea and opened the Skill Tree interface.

[Life Rules: LV3 (177/40000)]

The green branches had become a full circle thicker than before, with the surface interwoven by dense golden light threads forming a complex and orderly network, directly climbing to LV3.

His LV3 Life Rules were just a step away from consolidating the Rule Spark at the Demigod Level.

He withdrew his hand from the trunk, refocusing his consciousness on the Life Rules themselves.

After mastering the LV3 level of Life Rules, his perception underwent a qualitative change. When extending his Life Force perception with eyes closed, he could precisely distinguish the size, strength, type, and even emotional state of every cluster of Life Force, rather than vaguely feeling life presence in a certain direction.

The life force of the Golden Tree in the corner was like a gentle and bright golden flame, burning silently.

Every small fish in the spring appeared as a barely visible light point, with each tail swing stirring up a faint green ripple around the light point.

Even the spore plants floating in the air were clearly visible in his perception.

Any creature possessing Life Force couldn’t hide from him.

Unless it’s an Undead Element creature completely devoid of Life Force, like the Undead, Gargoyle, or some special constructs.

He retracted his dispersed perception, looking down at his hands, able to clearly sense the Life Force contained within every muscle, blood vessel, and cell inside him, flowing in an orderly fashion like countless streams.

Duke exited the Light God Court, reappearing on the stone bed of the safe house.

He rubbed his forehead, allowing himself to adapt from the comfort of being enveloped by Life Energy in the court to the cold, dry air of the labyrinth, then activated the points ranking of the Divine Revelation Mark with his left hand.

A translucent light screen unfolded silently in front of him, with his name still at the top, total points nearing seventy million.

The second place points were also steadily increasing, now nearing four million, with the five Demigod Levels securely occupying the top ten spots, their points above three million, very close to each other, separated by only tens of thousands, tightly clinging.

Looking further down, the points of the one-hundredth rank stood at over three hundred thousand.

Duke made a rough estimation. From the points distribution, at least twenty individuals have reached the threshold to enter the third layer.

However, having the qualification and actually stepping into the third layer are two different matters.

Most people are very cautious and wouldn’t enter the third layer hastily.

Judging by the first and second layers, the further it goes, the more dangerous it should be.

For most people, the more prudent choice is to gather all available resources from the second layer before contemplating entering the third layer.

To them, the environment of the third layer is unknown, and entering recklessly carries significant risks.

The fact is indeed so. If Duke hadn’t needed to escape the pursuit of a Level 4 Powerhouse, he wouldn’t have come to the third layer so quickly.

The environment of the third layer is more perilous than the second, with labyrinth walls that can’t be climbed over, leaving no chance to escape once trapped in a dead end.

In the absence of knowledge about the third layer, most people would choose to remain in the second layer, continuing to accumulate, or waiting for a more favorable opportunity.

After all, the Path of Divine Revelation doesn’t have a defined end time, being cautious is much wiser than being reckless.

Duke continued paging through and saw a familiar name, Audric, ranked over eighty.

The points remained stagnant at tens of thousands, showing almost no growth.

Duke recalled, it had been many days since he sliced off Audric’s half shoulder at Silver Shield Suburb.

The recovery ability of the Golden Dragon Bloodline was extremely potent. Under normal circumstances, even with half a shoulder severed, it should have somewhat recovered, and the points should have started increasing again.

Yet, the almost unmoving numbers indicate Audric’s injury was even worse than Duke initially estimated, severe enough that the recovery period hadn’t ended.

However, despite such injuries, he still remained on the Path of Divine Revelation and didn’t exit.

With Audric’s personality, as long as there’s hope, he wouldn’t give up easily.

Considering the competition with his clan brother Valentine, he probably wouldn’t return to the Golden Continent as a failure, choosing rather to perish on the Path of Divine Revelation.

Duke closed the ranking and re-examined the stone wall of the safe house before him.

There was still some time before the safe house’s time limit expired, enough for him to rest well and regain his Spirit.

Duke stayed in the safe house for six hours, not waiting for the entire time limit to run out.

He held the key in his palm, sensing the remaining time, still having close to half a day.

Six hours of rest had already restored his Spiritual Power and Magic Power to peak status. Staying in the safe house longer would simply waste the remaining value of the key.

Now he needed to quickly understand the rules operating in this region, locate the next safe house or key clue, ensuring that he could obtain a second key before the time limit expired.

His idea was simple: since access to the safe house was spontaneous, within the time limit, he could enter the safe house to seek refuge anytime he encountered danger.

Rather than spending all the time waiting, why not proactively engage and run away when danger arises?
