Wizard: Starting from the Skill Tree
Chapter 1095 - 890: Interference
These people all speculated that Duke had gotten hold of some remarkable item, perhaps a Level 5 or even Level 6 witchcraft artifact, otherwise, it wouldn’t be possible to gain so many points.
After they finished speaking, they looked at each other, their expressions turning extremely complex.
Rodrick’s eyes, as sharp as blades, narrowed slightly, his fingers full of old scars unconsciously tapping the hilt of the short blade at his waist: "Notify me immediately upon discovering Duke’s whereabouts, do not act on your own. Whatever he has in his hands, I am determined to obtain it."
The others hurriedly nodded in agreement, afraid of hesitating for even a moment.
Rodrick withdrew his gaze, turning back to the mining area tightly sealed by the Five Races Alliance Defense.
He did not say anything further, but refocused his attention on the mining area in front of him.
Duke still crouched in the rock fissure, his back pressed against the cold gray rock, hearing every word of their discussion with complete clarity.
The aura of the World Tree silently flowed across his body, like a layer of moss completely merged with the surrounding rock wall, gently erasing his presence from this world.
Rodrick squatted between several collapsed mine shaft support beams, using a dagger to sketch the approximate layout of the mining area on the gravelly ground.
The tip of his dagger scraped through the gray-white rock dust, leaving behind succinct and sharp lines.
The mine entrance, main shaft, several discovered rich ore pockets, and the general locations of the rotating patrols of those Level 4 clan leaders were all carved into the ground with each stroke.
"That Level 4 clan leader with a hammer has a fixed patrol schedule and route. But his perception range is wider than that of the average Level 4, so we can’t get too close, you and you—" he pointed the tip of the dagger at the short and stocky warlock and the thin warlock, "create noise at the perimeter of the mining area, use magic to create smoke bombs, try to make as much noise as possible. No need to engage him head-on, just lure him to the east side of the mining area, keep him tied up for at least a few minutes, that’s enough for me to reach the core of the vein."
"That clan leader from the Black Stone Tribe has an injury on his left arm and typically patrols near the collapse area, slow but vigilant, never straying far from the mine entrance. You two stay at the edge of the collapse area, no need to take action, just keep an eye. If his position changes, immediately notify me with a spiritual power signal."
He put the dagger back at his waist, pulled out a small bundle of scrolls and a few thumb-sized dark red crystals from his chest.
Due to the inability to use the Wizard’s Mark here, they can only utilize prepared small-range communication methods.
The wizards responsible for creating chaos accepted the scrolls and crystals, carefully tucking them inside their leather armor, their movements tinged with obvious tension.
They were very aware that creating chaos meant attracting the attention of a Level 4 powerhouse, even if only for a moment, it would be dancing on the edge of a blade.
However, they equally understood another fact, the cost of defying Rodrick was far more severe than dancing on the edge of a blade.
The people from Bloodthorn Castle never treated their allies more gently than their enemies.
"I will personally obtain the core of the vein, once inside, seal the mine entrance, use soundproof barriers to cover the mining area. Cut the extracted raw ore along with the associated rocks, directly store them in the Space Ring, do not waste time on refining." He glanced at everyone present, his voice lowered even further, yet deeper, "After the job is done, we will separate and retreat, you all head to the abandoned shaft on the west side, there are many branches there, easy to shake off pursuers.
I will follow behind to cover, remember to leave false traces at the crossroads during exit, lure them into pursuing deeper into the shaft. I don’t need to teach you these things, do I?"
The wizards shook their heads simultaneously, they were elite members of their respective organizations on the Scavvy Continent.
Duke crouched in the upper rock fissure, listening to these plans word for word.
Rodrick put the dagger back at his waist, stood up, and took another sweeping glance at the wizards coerced by him.
He said nothing more, just tilted his head slightly towards the mine pit direction.
The short and stocky warlock took a few deep breaths, the thin warlock wiped the sweat off his forehead, then along with the other two companions responsible for creating chaos, lowered their stance and sneaked towards the perimeter of the mining area.
The other two wizards responsible for monitoring the Black Stone Clan Leader also disappeared into the shadows of the rock pillars in the collapse area.
Rodrick himself was the last to leave, he stood in place, re-examining the surrounding environment to ensure no details were missed before silently heading towards the core of the mining area.
Duke rose from the rock fissure, patting the rock dust off his robe.
His gaze crossed the eroded rock pillar cluster, landing on the distant blurry figures moving towards the perimeter of the mining area, his lips curled slightly upwards, revealing a row of neat white teeth.
He did not rush to move but spread his perception outward, locking onto another section of the mining area completely opposite to Rodrick’s planned route.
That area is the number three vein, marked in the tribe’s prospecting records as having less reserves than the main vein, but since the collapse area has not been fully repaired after being damaged, the guard power is relatively weak, only a regular patrol team is stationed at the entrance.
He slowly and methodically moved along the shadows of the eroded rock pillars towards the number three vein, waiting for Rodrick’s side to make the first move.
...
The two wizards dispatched by Rodrick silently stealth along the rubble pile at the perimeter of the mining area, stopping their steps not far from the east side watchtower.
