Wizard: Scamming a Demon God
Chapter 478 - 352: False Wizard
Chapter 478: Chapter 352: False Wizard
Although the Demon Radiance of a High-level Demon enhanced friend and foe alike, this enhancement was not without a cost. In essence, the power granted by the Demon Radiance was still an enhancement born from absorbing Evil Energy!
And this absorption was forced!
Typically, only those of an equivalent level of power could resist it.
Therefore, upon seeing the Knights and Wizards on their own side "strengthen" one after another, the three High-level Knights wreaking havoc on the battlefield felt no joy. Instead, with bloodshot eyes, they charged furiously toward the three Demons!
They had to eliminate these three creatures quickly and put an end to the Demon Radiance. Otherwise, if the fight dragged on, they would pay an incredibly steep price, even if they ultimately achieved victory!
Meanwhile, Agares glanced at the Tier Three battlefield, which had instantly reached a fever pitch. He didn’t pay it much attention. His figure slowly faded as he sped toward the rear of the native forces’ formation.
Under normal circumstances, a Demon Dominator’s job wasn’t finished just by summoning Demons. That method wouldn’t even qualify as third-rate and was unworthy of the Demon Dominator title. At best, one could only be called a Demon Summoner.
While a highlight of this specialization was the chain Summoning of Demons—and even reverse Summoning, where a weaker Demon could summon a stronger one—that was merely a highlight. The true essence of the specialization lay in the word "dominate"!
In a typical battle, Demons under his dominion would exhibit far greater power because Agares’s will would temporarily supplant their own, allowing him to have them recklessly squander their life essence for combat.
Simply put: burning life for power!
This was the fundamental reason why Demon Dominators were so powerful.
In this world, the Wizard Civilization had developed to a point where a diverse array of powers flourished. Most specializations vied for supremacy, and even if they couldn’t win in a fight, their proponents would never verbally concede defeat.
But there was one specialization that could truly earn the genuine respect of most Wizards: the Demon Dominator!
The reason lay in their incredibly hellish Krypton Life Battle Skill. Regardless of the power system, the Krypton Life Battle Skill had always been considered a strategy that transcended even the T0 ranking. It was the only battle skill that hadn’t risen and fallen with the tides of civilization’s development, from ancient times to the present day!
As civilization advanced, the methods for sacrificing life became more and more varied. In the hands of a Wizard, a single life could be exploited in countless creative ways—especially in the hands of a Demon Dominator.
This was because they weren’t sacrificing their *own* lives, and furthermore, they were one of the few specializations based on this principle that didn’t spark controversy!
Normally, the Krypton Life Battle Skill used by Demon Dominators could also be employed by Wizards from other Summoning Styles. However, much like the various animal rights organizations from Isaac’s past life, in this Extraordinary world, any creature with a modicum of power that could serve as a Summoned Creature or Servant Demon had its own group of supporters.
If you used it occasionally, no one would say a thing. But if you made it a regular tactic...
...then you couldn’t blame the extremists for coming to have a "chat" with you. In this world where might makes right, those extremists did more than just make empty threats.
Among all the creatures that could be used for the Krypton Life Battle Skill, only Demons were unprotected. Not only were they not protected, but if you used the skill on them frequently, you might even receive a commendation!
Of course, in most cases, Demon Dominators were ineligible for such commendations, since they were the ones who summoned the Demons to begin with...
Moreover, the Krypton Life Battle Skill was just one of this specialization’s strengths. One must remember that regardless of their specialization, a Wizard was still a Wizard; being a Caster was their core identity. And in a large-scale battle, what did Casters excel at most?
Without a doubt, it was buffs!
Just look at the Black Knight—empowered by the Silver Law, he was like a War God. The same principle applied to a Demon Dominator’s Demons. A stack of buffs, combined with the power gained from constantly burning their life force—that was their strongest state!
’This current display?’
’Merely child’s play.’
Agares had no intention of displaying his full strength here. ’According to my intel, the enemy has only dispatched those three Tier Threes to this location. The rest are on other battlefields. As for the Tier Fours, they’re still being held in check.’
’As a Little World, its forces—whether high, mid, or low-tier—are nothing special. Intel says they only have three Tier Fours, all of whom are Knights. If you include the Tier Four Star Beast that only has enough strength for a single fight, you could count four. But none of them can make a move right now, not unless the operation led by our commanders outside this world is disrupted.’
’Beyond that, the only high-tier forces they can mobilize are about twenty-odd Tier Three Knights and seven Tier Three Star Wizards. And in the short term, only these three could be committed to this battlefield.’
’Of course, if the battle drags on, those other Tier Three experts will inevitably rush over. But that’s a problem for later.’
’Since these three have come out, it means the enemy’s rear lines are now vulnerable.’
’In that case, it’s the perfect time to make my move!’
’A whole crowd of Tier One and Tier Two Star Mages? For someone like me, taking them out would be simpler than catching chickens!’
’There’s nothing to worry about on the front lines. Winning here brings no real benefit; at most, it weakens the enemy’s Tier Three combat strength. But...’
’Even from my cursory assessment, I don’t think these Tier Threes are worth worrying about. The final outcome of this War—or rather, when it ends—depends on what happens outside this Little World.’
