Wizard: Scamming a Demon God
Chapter 457 - 341: Isaac: As Everyone Knows, I’m the Most Rule-Abiding
Chapter 457: Chapter 341: Isaac: As Everyone Knows, I’m the Most Rule-Abiding
Although his sister-in-law Sally had only said she could help ask, Isaac was already quite satisfied. He hadn’t expected to accomplish it all in one step. As for getting his older sister involved...
’This isn’t a problem for me at all,’ Isaac thought. ’In a way, it’s actually a good thing. After all, setting my Golden Finger aside, my older sister is a Grand Arcanist whose research abilities are no less than my own. Plus, her involvement would go a long way in diluting the prejudice associated with my identity as a Mad Witch.’
"No problem. I’ll have to trouble you, then, sister-in-law. Don’t worry about the research proposal; I’ll provide a plan that is absolutely satisfactory. As for the exchange of benefits, feel free to negotiate openly. As a Miracle Mage, I’ve accumulated a fair bit over my years in the Endless Tower."
As he spoke, Isaac raised a finger and lightly flicked his earring. A ripple of Divine Power spread out, and five powerful phantoms, each emanating the fluctuations of Tier Four Divine Power, materialized behind him.
This scene left Caesar and the others completely stunned.
Because, counting Isaac himself, he had a total of eight sources of Tier Four combat power on his side!
And not a single one of them looked like a lightweight.
’At the very least, judging by their auras, every single one of them is much stronger than Dad...’
"Just what... what on earth did you go through in the Endless Tower all these years?" Gaia asked, staring dazedly at Isaac and the five phantoms behind him, an inexplicable feeling stirring in his heart.
If Smith’s and Lorna’s advancements could be explained away by the Endless Tower, then the five phantoms floating behind Isaac were a form of power they simply could not comprehend.
’That’s Tier Four!’
According to their intelligence, not many of the kingdoms that had broken away from the massive Terra Empire possessed Tier Four powerhouses. Perhaps that number would change after the experts from the Endless Tower returned, but not by much.
After all, Gaia himself was now Tier Four. Although he was a Knight, he knew a fair bit about the New World. Unlike most Wizards, who could advance systematically just by conducting experiments in their Mage Towers, he had switched to the Path of the Demon Beasts. This path had a massive demand for external resources, which could essentially only be obtained from Great Creations or the New World.
Advanced Knight cultivation methods, in particular, were what Solomon desperately needed right now.
This made Gaia’s need for the New World even more pressing. After all, such methods had to be created from scratch, traded from Wizards, or plundered from the New World.
That was right. The New World also held the legacies of the Path of the Knight. In a sense, the Path of the Knight was itself a Great Creation.
Thus, the allure of the New World was immense for both Wizards and Knights.
Under these circumstances, while there were many Tier Four powerhouses within the former Terra Empire’s territory, few actually served organizations in the Real World. Most belonged to scattered Wizard Organizations or were affiliated with Truth Association strongholds, using them as bases to launch expeditions into the New World.
Powerhouses at Tier Four or above who were actually willing to provide protection for organizations in the Real World were exceedingly rare. For a Kingdom the size of Solomon, for example, there would be at most two or three Tier Four powerhouses serving as its patrons.
There might be other Tier Four powerhouses within its borders, but as long as one didn’t lose their mind and carry out an indiscriminate massacre, a change in ruler meant nothing to them.
This made Isaac’s combat power seem rather terrifying...
And this wasn’t even the full extent of his strength!
After all, Isaac’s personal combat prowess was undoubtedly impressive—that went without saying. Gaia felt he understood his son fairly well. The boy had a bit of a... fear of insufficient firepower.
His preparations in that regard often involved some truly frightening concepts...
Thus, Gaia never doubted his youngest son’s combat capabilities. The series of Magic Cannons he’d developed was a clear testament to that.
After Isaac’s brief display of the Five Gods, his sister-in-law Sally began to understand the true weight behind his words, "accumulated a fair bit." ’With that kind of power, is there anything valuable he can’t obtain?’
No one delved too deeply into why Isaac was so powerful. After a brief exchange of information, they moved on to casual family conversation to reaffirm their bonds.
The power Isaac displayed certainly had an impact, but not a decisive one. Even if he were only Tier Three, Gaia and the others would not have cut ties with him. They weren’t heartless like Remington, after all.
As a result, the entire conversation was quite pleasant. The only slight imperfection was the subtle shift in their attitude toward Prince Norns...
But that was to be expected. For the Solomon Kingdom to gain its independence so smoothly without being annexed, some compromises must have been made in exchange for support.
Isaac even caught a faint hint of dissuasion in their words...
It wasn’t much, though, because they knew Isaac was quite stubborn. Once he made a decision, it was impossible to make him change his mind without a very good reason, especially now that he held the upper hand in terms of power.
Much, much stronger.
’If Prince Norns had died in the Endless Tower or advanced to Tier Five, I would have let it go,’ Isaac mused. ’But since he didn’t, he can’t blame me for coming to settle the score.’
This was one of the reasons Isaac hadn’t accepted any favors from the Emperor.
Even though they were very tempting.
’However, this reckoning requires more preparation. I’ll have to let that bastard enjoy his freedom a little longer.’
It couldn’t be helped. Having just come out of the Endless Tower, Isaac had a mountain of things that needed his initial attention. Furthermore, now that he was Tier Four, fighting in the Real World—especially a battle that involved killing a peer of the same tier—required him to file a report with the Flesh Sect.
’Though it would most likely be fine even if I didn’t...’
’But who is Isaac?’
’He’s a law-abiding Mad Witch, determined to shatter the preconceptions people have of him!’
Isaac didn’t rush back over the next two days. Instead, he stayed and made small talk with Caesar and the others. It was mostly idle chatter, with one noteworthy exception: Arthur finally made his decision. He accepted Isaac’s invitation and chose the newer, more unknown Extraordinary path over the more mature Path of the Pure-blooded Giant Dragon, which Smith had already proven viable.
You could say that Arthur had made up his mind, but not entirely. In his heart, he still harbored some hope for that position of King.
In this regard, Arthur was less decisive than his younger brother, Mozze. That kid had been stuck at the Tier Two Upper rank, just a little behind Arthur. But after learning about the legacy of the Law-Breaking Swordsman, he chose that path with little hesitation.
Of course, it was also possible that, much like Isaac in the past, he had known for a long time that the throne would never be his.
In any case, only Mozze himself knew his true thoughts. But after switching his cultivation path, he had already converted all of his Battle Qi into Breaking Law Protection. As a matter of course, his strength had reached the Tier Two Peak, leaving him just one step away from Tier Three!
