Wizard: My Skills Can Infinitely Break Through
Chapter 489 - 352: Demons and Monsters, Eat My Spear
"The Rift is still here. The contamination is still here. How many more people have to die every year?"
Wu Zhenshan was rendered speechless. He opened his mouth to argue, but couldn’t find the words.
Because Ian was speaking the truth. For sixty years, he had indeed guarded the Rift and prevented it from expanding.
But that was all. Purification? He truly couldn’t do it.
This was a Level Five Rift. The evolutionary and growth speed of the Mutants inside far surpassed that of any Level Four.
Across all of Great Yan... no, across the entire Profound Yellow Star, the number of people who could do it... was no more than three.
And the other two were in the Capital City.
"Advisor Yin, I understand your desire to serve the nation."
Wu Zhenshan took a deep breath, suppressing his anger. "But a Level Five Rift is no joke. We need to plan this out carefully."
"How about this: you head back first. Wait for me to report to headquarters and formulate a proper plan, and then..."
"Not necessary." Ian cut him off directly. "I’m going down now."
"You!" Wu Zhenshan’s face turned ashen. "Advisor Yin, don’t force my hand."
"Force you?" Ian looked at him, his gaze slowly turning cold.
"I’m in a hurry and don’t have time to waste with you. Either get out of my way, or..."
The instant the words left his mouth, Wu Zhenshan’s pupils contracted. The space around him... had frozen solid.
The air grew as thick as glue, making it impossible to draw even a wisp of breath. What was even more terrifying... was the temperature.
The surrounding temperature was climbing rapidly. From room temperature to one hundred degrees, two hundred, five hundred...
Wu Zhenshan’s military uniform began to smoke, and a searing pain spread across his skin.
He let out a furious roar as the Energy in his body erupted. A pale blue Water Superpower surged forth, forming a Shield around him.
But the Shield had barely formed before it began to "melt" like snow under a blazing sun, rapidly thinning.
Wu Zhenshan was both shocked and enraged. "You... You dare to attack me?!"
He was a Legend! A Legend who had guarded the East Sea Rift for sixty years and slain two Level Five Mutants!
But now, before this young man, he couldn’t even move a finger.
"Attack you? You think too highly of yourself." Ian shook his head. "I’m just showing you..."
He raised his right hand, and a crimson Long Spear slowly materialized.
The spear’s shaft was only a meter long, but the pressure it emanated made Wu Zhenshan’s very Soul tremble.
"In the face of true power, so-called rules and qualifications are a joke."
The Long Spear left his hand and flew toward Wu Zhenshan. It didn’t seem to be moving fast.
But Wu Zhenshan couldn’t dodge.
The surrounding space was locked tight by a Gravity Field. He was like an Insect trapped in amber, able to do nothing but watch as the Long Spear flew toward him.
The Long Spear easily tore through his Shield, pierced his shoulder, and sent a spray of blood into the air.
Wu Zhenshan grunted and fell from the sky, smashing into the base’s concrete plaza with a THUD.
Dust filled the air. Wu Zhenshan lay at the bottom of the crater, a scorched black hole in his right shoulder from which blood gushed freely.
He struggled to get up, but the movement caused him to spit out a mouthful of blood.
"You..." He looked up at the figure in the sky.
His eyes were filled with anger, horror, and a trace of bewilderment.
A single blow. Just one blow, and he’d had no room to resist.
’Is this... the power of the Red-Bladed Spear?’
"Just stay put."
Ian’s voice drifted down from the sky. "You don’t need to worry about the Rift anymore."
After speaking, his figure flashed, transforming into a streak of light that plunged toward the fissure in the center of the island.
Gaga, perched on his shoulder, glanced back at Wu Zhenshan in the crater, a flicker of pity in its small eyes.
’What a blind fool.’ It muttered under its breath. ’Insisting on blocking the way... wasn’t he just asking for a beating?’
Ian, with Gaga, passed through the dark purple mist and descended into the depths of the Rift.
Behind them, the military base was deathly silent.
And at the bottom of the crater lay the legendary Guardian Envoy, his eyes vacant.
