Chapter 128: Chapter 102: Holy Fire Day and Samadhi True Flame Upgrade
Chen Shang stored his Magic Robe into his Space Book. He then pulled Ella, Twilight, and Evelyn into a small group chat, sending them the meeting time and coordinates.
Standing up from his chair, he instructed Luna Xiya to keep a close eye on the small garden at home.
He could bring the Golden Crow and Surtr along this time. As flame creatures, those two guys would feel right at home in the Red Flame Realm.
However, Luna Xiya had to stay behind. Tossing this timid little mushroom into such a harsh environment would be sheer torture for her.
Finally, he reminded Amy that she was free to use the laboratory, urging her to strengthen her studies on the plague curse and even attempt to develop the Plague Ghost.
Amy nodded emphatically. "You be careful too, Senior!"
Three days later, Elemental City No. 73.
The moment Chen Shang stepped out of the Teleportation Gate, he spotted Evelyn right away.
She stood at the entrance of the Teleportation Hall, clad in a fiery red Magic Robe with her hair tied in a high ponytail, looking down at her Crystal Plate.
Catching sight of Chen Shang, she put away the Crystal Plate and gave him a nod. "Let’s go. They’re already here."
The Elemental City lacked the pastoral tranquility of the Starfall Half-Plane. The buildings here were taller and much more densely packed. Four-color Crystal Stones were embedded into the walls and domes, constantly shifting hues.
People bustled about on the streets. Apprentices and Official Wizards in various colored Magic Robes hurried past, while the white light of Teleportation Gates flared and faded at every street corner.
Evelyn led Chen Shang into a low-rise, dome-shaped building and pushed open the door to a room on the second floor. Ella and Twilight were already inside.
Ella was leaning by the window, hugging that little bear. Her dark circles were as heavy as ever, making her look like she hadn’t slept for days. She glanced at Chen Shang and nodded in greeting without saying a word.
Twilight sat quietly in the corner. The Black Fog surrounding her was noticeably thinner than it had been a few years ago, vaguely revealing the silhouette of a delicate, pretty young girl inside.
"Everyone’s here." Evelyn closed the door. Taking a Crystal Plate from her Space Book, she projected a blank spreadsheet into the air. "Let’s consolidate our basic information first. It’ll make dividing the tasks easier."
Ella was the first to speak up. "My Constitution is 103, Spirit 170, and Magic Power 145. I specialize in Nightmare Witchcraft and summoning."
The room fell silent for a split second as everyone’s eyes darted toward Ella. Her Spiritual Power was staggeringly high at 170—only 30 points shy of the 200 threshold for a Third Level Apprentice.
Ella simply shrugged, her tone flat. "Our laboratory focuses heavily on spiritual cultivation, so this is pretty normal."
Twilight followed suit. "Constitution 121, Spirit 119, Magic Power 124. I specialize in defense."
Evelyn reported her stats as well. "Constitution 145, Spirit 134, Magic Power 142. I specialize in Flame Element Witchcraft."
The trio then shifted their collective gaze onto Chen Shang. After a brief pause, he stated, "Constitution 115, Spirit 109, Magic Power 324. I specialize in Elemental Witchcraft and Creation Species."
Once again, all eyes locked onto him. With a Magic Power Value of 324, Chen Shang had completely surpassed the threshold for a Third Level Apprentice. This was even more absurd than Ella’s stats.
Chen Shang rubbed the back of his head, carefully choosing his words. "Well, I’ve been studying under Master Hathaway these past two years and learned the construction method for the Magic Spring. So, my Magic Power is just a bit higher."
Evelyn couldn’t hold back anymore. "You learned how to construct the Magic Spring in just over two years? Are you even human? I seriously suspect you’re the reincarnation of some ancient monster!"
Twilight remained silent, but the gaze piercing through her fog lingered on him for several seconds.
Ella looked thoughtful. "No wonder... No wonder you made it into the *Truth Daily*. So you’ve already progressed this far."
Chen Shang chuckled awkwardly. "That was just a routine publication by Elemental Storm... It really didn’t have much to do with me. It’s mostly because Elemental Storm is such a massive organization."
Evelyn tore her gaze away, filled out the final column on the spreadsheet, and pushed the Crystal Plate to the center of the table. "Alright, let’s talk about the division of labor next."
She looked at Chen Shang. "You’re the initiator, so you should take the lead. Any objections?"
"No objections!" Chen Shang didn’t decline. His Eye of True Sight was perfect for reconnaissance, his Creation Species could scout ahead, and the frontal offensive output of his Water-Fire Heaven Extremes was incredibly strong. It was perfectly reasonable for him to take charge.
"I’ll handle reconnaissance and navigation. Evelyn and Ella will be responsible for the main offensive output, and Twilight will handle defense." He turned to Twilight. "How strong of an attack can your Black Fog withstand?"
Twilight’s answer was concise. "Anything below Tier Three is fine. I can’t hold off a Tier Four attack, but I can stall it for a few breaths."
Evelyn chimed in. "Most of the Fire Elemental Spirits in the Red Flame Realm range from Tier Two to Tier Three. There are some middle-tier individuals at Tier Four, but not many. If we can’t beat them, we can always run."
Ella nodded in agreement. While her Nightmare Witchcraft was less effective on Elemental Creatures compared to Flesh and Blood Creatures, her mental interference would always be somewhat useful.
Finally, Chen Shang brought up the distribution of loot. "No matter how much we gather, we’ll bring it all back to the Wizard World and divide it based on our contributions. The contributions will be judged by the Wizard’s Will."
None of the three had any objections to this arrangement.
With everything settled, the four left the domed building and crossed a few streets to the Teleportation Hall. In the center of the hall stood a ring of silver-white Teleportation Gates, each leading to a different Plane.
Chen Shang approached the gate labeled "Red Flame Realm" and pressed his badge against the sensor area.
A system prompt popped up: "Destination: Red Flame Realm. Danger Level: Level Three. Confirm teleportation?"
Chen Shang tapped confirm. The frame of the Teleportation Gate lit up, and the light inside shifted from gray to white, then from white to a blazing incandescence.
"Let’s go." Chen Shang was the first to step through. The white light swallowed him whole, followed quickly by Evelyn, Ella, and Twilight.
As the blinding white light faded, a wave of intense heat washed over them. Just taking a breath felt like their lungs were on fire. Ordinary creatures would have found it absolutely impossible to survive here.
Chen Shang’s Frost Mage Robe activated automatically. A very faint layer of silver-white light patterns illuminated the surface of the dark blue robe, completely insulating his skin from the scorching heat.
