Wizard: I Have a Cultivation System
Chapter 691 - 79: The Greatness of Will
Chapter 691: Chapter 79: The Greatness of Will
Time is composed of countless fragments.
Even within a state of frozen time, movement is impossible if one is in a different fragment of that time.
How many such fragments are there, you ask?
A single second contains 5.39 x 10?? fragments.
In Murphy’s words, this is Planck time.
If each fragment were treated as a second, it would be a span of roughly 4.9 septillion years.
How difficult would it be to pinpoint the exact second to enter within such a vast expanse of time?
Without mastery of tracking Magic, time-stop becomes a turn-based game.
You take a turn, I take a turn.
Until one side’s immortality fails and they die for good.
But Cheris was clearly different.
When the four Demigods activated their bloodline abilities to cast [Time Stop], she used the constantly active [Spell Simulation] on her person to track them and enter the frozen domain of time.
In truth, [Time Stop] wasn’t a true freeze of time.
To be precise, its effect was to slice into a specific Planck time, infinitely accelerating the motion of the caster’s particles. This allowed them to fight at a speed where one subjective second was equivalent to a single Planck time.
Of course, as a consequence of this infinite acceleration, they existed on a separate dimension while casting.
Therefore, the destructive effects they generated would only manifest in reality when the ability ended.
However, by entering the exact same Planck time fragment as them, Cheris could now interact with them.
"Insects."
"I’ve finally caught you."
Before her voice had even faded, a pure white light exploded from Cheris’s palm.
Not one beam, not ten, but hundreds.
They were densely packed, blanketing everything—like a torrential downpour shooting from the ground to the sky, or like a thousand suns detonating in the night at once.
Wherever the white light passed, the air was scorched into a vacuum, light itself was twisted into vortices, and even the domain of frozen time trembled violently.
Aurelius’s massive dragon form was struck by three beams of white light simultaneously.
The first pierced his left wing, burning a hole the size of a cart wheel through the membrane, its scorched edges still dripping with scalding blood.
The second struck his chest. His scales shattered like glass, and golden blood gushed from the cracks.
The third shot in through his lower jaw and exited the back of his head, taking half his tongue and an entire section of his skull with it.
His enormous body tumbled several times in the air like a toppling mountain peak before crashing heavily to the ground.
The ground exploded as if struck by a meteorite, the shockwave flinging soil and shattered rock dozens of meters into the air.
In that instant, the earth for several miles around cracked, fissures spreading out in all directions like a spiderweb.
A beam of white light hit Celeine in the abdomen.
Her body shot backward like a cannonball, blasting straight through a hill behind her.
A massive gap was torn through the center of the hill, sending rubble and dust flying. The mountain collapsed from the impact, half of its slope sliding down with a deafening roar.
She was embedded deep within the rock face of the crater, her silvery-white hair splayed out, blood trickling from the corner of her mouth and dripping onto the shattered stones.
Before the white light, Elarius’s rock giant form was like a mound of mud being washed away by rain.
His left arm was severed at the shoulder by a beam of light, rock crumbling from the stump.
His right leg vanished from the knee down, not even fragments remaining.
Three large holes were punched through his chest.
He knelt on one knee, his only remaining hand propped against a surviving boulder, gasping for breath.
With every breath, bits of stone spewed from his throat.
Valerius had it the worst.
He had reverted from his golden eagle form back to human, only to be blasted from a human shape into a mangled pulp of flesh and blood.
All four of his limbs were gone.
A massive gash was torn open in his abdomen. His entrails spilled out, dragging on the ground and leaving a long, gruesome trail through the rubble and dust.
He lay sprawled on a pile of debris, lacking even the strength to groan.
The ground beneath him was soaked through with blood, transformed into a dark red marsh.
Cheris hovered in midair, looking down on them.
"So, you’re this weak?"
"And being so weak, you actually dared to defy me? Did that trash from the Shaping Domain give you this courage?"
Aurelius lay at the bottom of the deep crater, the hole pierced through his chest slowly healing.
The golden blood had already stopped flowing, and new flesh was budding from the edges of the wound, like grass shoots breaking through the soil in spring.
Upon hearing Cheris’s words, a bitter laugh welled up inside him.
’Just as I thought.’
Facing an elite Fourth-Level Wizard, even Demigods like them, who were theoretically on the same level, struggled so desperately to resist.
If it weren’t for the Shaping Domain’s Mist Lock, they never would have been able to trap Cheris in the first place.
And that was before she found a flaw and broke out of the Mist Lock.
Then she had left, returning to her own world.
They had thought she would never come back.
But she did.
She descended from the sky, filled with rage and killing intent.
"We..." Aurelius’s voice, hoarse and deep, forced its way out of the dragon’s throat. "We are willing to submit."
Cheris looked at him, the coldness in her jade-green eyes unchanging.
She raised her right hand, fingers spread, palm facing Aurelius.
A pure white light gathered in her palm, growing brighter and more blinding, like a newborn Sun.
"I already gave you a chance."
The white light blasted down.
In the white light, Aurelius’s body twisted, deformed, and disintegrated.
Scales scattered like scraps of paper, flesh splattered like mud, and bones snapped like dry twigs.
