Wizard: I Add Points and Hunt Monsters
Chapter 572: I Must Kill You
Chapter 572: Chapter 225: I Must Kill You
“Death…”
As the deep voice echoed, the blurry face formed by the bulging, dark clouds in the sky suddenly came to life. Deep within the storm, thunder coalesced into a pair of eyes that glittered with electricity. Their pupils were deep and calm, gazing down upon the sea below.
In an instant, the massive tornado stopped spinning. The surface of the ocean ceased its undulations. The fish and aberrant creatures of the deep went silent. Even those that had leaped from the water remained frozen in mid-air…
He—or rather, It—froze everything in place as a god would, turning the churning sea deathly still!
‘Death?’
‘Is It referring to the Power of the Origin of Death God?’
Wei’en stared blankly at the face, his body trembling uncontrollably. It was the terror one feels before a supreme being, the sudden, crushing awareness of his own insignificance. The horrifying power that emanated from the face made it impossible for him to even avert his gaze.
In fact, it wasn’t just his body. His Origin, soul, and Spirit were all bound, forced to cower somewhere deep within him.
Without realizing it, a shimmer appeared in his blood-red eyes as he gazed up at the sky. Like welling tears, it condensed into beads of blood. They slid from the corners of his eyes, down past his nose, and stained the stark white of his jawbone a deep crimson.
‘Is this a god?’
‘This is the Master of True Slaughter, McCarthy? The ‘trash’ who, according to the panel, has mastered the domains of ‘Truth’ and ‘Slaughter’?’
‘If It’s trash, then what does that make me?’
Wei’en scoffed inwardly, as much at his own ignorance as in awe of the face in the sky.
A burning sensation in his eye sockets plunged him into darkness, leaving him blind. The silence around him was absolute, leaving him deaf.
Even the power within him, amplified by “Forbidden Item 2-77, Karel’s Whisper,” seemed to vanish, the surging sensation it once gave him now gone.
All of this was a testament to the power of the Master of True Slaughter!
He knew there was nothing he could do now but quietly await his judgment!
Not far away, the *Leonard* had also come to a halt on the water. On its deck, Clelia clutched the ship’s Lord of Dawn figurehead, her head bowed so low she dared not expose her face.
What she didn’t know was that as the face appeared in the clouds, a faint, crystalline light had begun to glow within the hollow, wooden eyes of the Lord of Dawn statue she held.
Just then, a respectful, sycophantic voice shattered the silence.
“O great Master of True Slaughter, your loyal servant, Agostinho Harvey, implores you! Please, send down your divine punishment and annihilate everything here!”
“Divine punishment?”
The lightning-filled eyes on the face in the clouds reflected everything on this stretch of sea: the black carriage, the Pyramid, the Wizard, the Mechanical Puppets, the worthless followers…
It saw everything that had happened here. It saw the effects of Wei’en’s Magic, the dark glow gathering on the Mechanical Puppet and the sniper rifle, and It saw the *Leonard* with its Lord of Dawn statue…
“Death…”
It repeated the word, its gaze falling upon Wei’en. In a low voice filled with unquestionable authority, It asked, “Tell me, from where does your Death Origin Power come?”
Instantly, Wei’en felt the crushing pressure on his body vanish. His Origin Power began to circulate, his soul felt soothed, and his Spiritual Power once again extended throughout his body, allowing him to control his flesh, bones, and organs.
“Me?”
[You are being watched by the Master of True Slaughter, McCarthy. Your Resilience Level is below 50,000. Your eyes cannot withstand the erosion of a god’s Origin Power. You are injured. Evaluation: Tsk, tsk, tsk, wrong! He hasn’t mastered those two domains. Stolen domains aren’t so easy to control! Special Reward: Survival Points +200, Resilience Level +10, Spirit Level +5.]
[…You cannot move. Your Origin is being… ]
[Your body has received the effects of Companion Contract – Healing. Your injuries are healed. Evaluation: A false god! This world just got a lot more interesting! Hee hee hee ha ha… Reward: Survival Points +50.]
The blood-red prompts flashed one after another, most of which should have appeared while Wei’en was paralyzed.
‘Was it because the panel’s messages couldn’t get through while the Master of True Slaughter was in control? Or was I unable to see them because my Origin was frozen?’
Wei’en had no way of knowing, but the panel’s messages gave him pause.
‘Ever since I met the Grave Digger,’ Wei’en thought, ‘the panel’s evaluations of the “True World” and the “Lord of Slaughter” have been fine-tuned. It went from calling it a ‘graveyard’ to now a ‘false god.’ Has it discovered McCarthy’s secret?’
‘But now is clearly not the time to be dwelling on that.’
Wei’en tilted his head back slightly and risked a glance at the sky. When he felt no corrosive injury this time, he let out a breath and said, “Are you referring to Death Origin Power? I extracted it from some special Undead Creatures.”
“Oh? The undead?”
“Yes.” Wei’en nodded obediently. ‘When you’re under the thumb of a god, you bow your head.’
The pupils of the face in the clouds shifted. A few small bolts of lightning shot from its dazzling eyes, striking the sea in front of Wei’en. “Continue.”
‘Continue?’
“According to that Guardian in the Undead World, the Undead Creatures I extracted the power from are ancient. They aren’t very powerful, but they possess a very special identity.”
Wei’en’s gaze fell to where the lightning had pierced the sea. Two deep, dark holes had formed in the water. As the seawater rushed in, it didn’t fill the holes but instead flowed bizarrely down their edges, as if they were the openings of two permanent tunnels.
