Wizard: Grinding to Lord of Truth

Chapter 292 - 293: Return

Three hours later, Andre flew to the Expedition Base.

The Expedition Base was now a world apart from how it had been when he first arrived.

The base had once been situated in an apocalyptic landscape, but now it was nestled within a forest.

"Andre!"

Just then, Angela detected Andre flying rapidly toward them via the Defense Wizard Array.

In a panic, Angela activated the Expedition Base's defenses.

But when Andre landed in front of the Expedition Base, walked over, and knocked on the Defense Wizard Array, Angela stared at the image transmitted by the Witchcraft Array, her face a mask of astonishment.

She could hardly believe it. Andre, who had been missing for over half a year, had reappeared right before her eyes.

"Deactivate. Deactivate."

Angela deactivated the Defense Wizard Array and walked out of the Expedition Base. Seeing Andre, she let out a sigh of relief.

Although she could confirm Andre was alive by checking on the Eight-toothed Giant Elephant's life force, his continued absence had kept her on edge.

"Where did you go?"

Angela asked, watching him.

Andre was the specialist she had personally requested from the mothership.

His sudden disappearance this time had caused her immense stress.

A Master of Demon Patterns who could also decipher the scripts of Alien Races—a true Master of Words—was incredibly rare.

Not to mention, Andre was very young.

If the academy had confirmed Andre's death or disappearance, she would have likely been punished by being reassigned to some dangerous post, never to return to the academy.

But now that Andre was back, she no longer had to live on pins and needles.

"How should I put it... Let's just say it was a rather bizarre experience."

Andre said with a wry look at Angela.

"A bizarre experience?"

"You're a Level 3 Wizard now."

Only then did Angela realize that Andre's aura had broken through the threshold of a Level 2 Wizard, reaching the realm of a Level 3 Wizard.

Furthermore, from what she could tell, his aura indicated he wasn't just any Level 3 Wizard, but a powerful one.

Angela was left speechless by his rate of advancement.

After all, it had only been a little over half a year since Andre had suddenly vanished from the Expedition Base.

"Hmm. The Expedition Base didn't run into any trouble while I was gone, did it?"

Andre asked, looking at Angela.

"Not really. But the academy issued an order for the complete conquest of this world, so everyone except me has been sent out as reinforcements."

"If you hadn't returned, I would have been deployed as well."

Angela told Andre what had been happening at the Expedition Base.

Andre nodded. He raised his right hand and made a grasping motion in the air. Streams of Magic Power gathered in his palm, coalescing into sheets of paper.

"This is the script I've deciphered, along with the Demon Patterns contained within the writing."

Andre handed the papers he had just created, filled with the script and Demon Patterns, to Angela.

After becoming the Child of the World and merging with the planet's consciousness, he now understood every script and natural Demon Pattern in the Cosmic Sea World.

To him, the Cosmic Sea World no longer held any secrets.

"You've already deciphered all of it?"

Angela took the papers and glanced through them. She then looked back at Andre, freshly stunned.

'What in the world did Andre go through in the last half a year?'

'He became a Level 3 Wizard and completely deciphered all the scripts and Demon Patterns of the Cosmic Sea World!'

'Isn't that pace a little too terrifying?'

'Is this what it means to be a genius?'

'But I'm a genius, too!'

'It seems there's a world of difference between one genius and another.'

Angela sighed to herself.

Anyone who encountered a monster like Andre would feel a sense of inadequacy.

"My Star Realm Battleship is still here, right?"

Andre asked, seeing Angela's dejected expression.

Angela nodded and turned, leading Andre into the Expedition Base.

Now that the Cosmic Sea World had finished repairing itself, the terrain around the Expedition Base had also changed dramatically.

Many of the sights Andre remembered from his first visit were gone.

"The first Expedition Squad rebuilt this base after the world changed."

"They modified the previous one."

Soon, Angela led Andre to the Morning Sky.

The Morning Sky was covered in a thick layer of dust.

Andre frowned at the dust-covered Morning Sky. He took a shallow breath, then blew it out forcefully.

With a WHOOSH, his breath transformed into a gale, scattering all the dust from the Morning Sky.

'To form a Witchcraft with a single breath... What in the world happened to Andre over the last six months!'

Angela watched from the side, her expression growing more and more bewildered.

She couldn't begin to fathom the depths of his power.

As the dust settled, pulses of Energy began to emanate from the Morning Sky's core.

The Morning Sky activated on its own. The hatch opened, and Wei Xing flew out, landing beside Andre.

"Welcome home!"

A smile touched Wei Xing's lips as she looked at Andre, her expression identical to the one she'd had when he left the Expedition Base.

Andre gave Wei Xing a nod and then boarded the Morning Sky.

Inside the Central Control Room, the Eight-toothed Giant Elephant, which had been lying on the floor, sensed someone enter and immediately scrambled to its feet.

But when it saw that Andre had returned, the Eight-toothed Giant Elephant blinked in disbelief.

'How is this possible? Andre is a Level 3 Wizard now?'

The Eight-toothed Giant Elephant was momentarily stunned by the increase in Andre's Power.

Then, it recalled the glimpse it had caught when forming the Master-Servant Contract with Andre.

'So it's true. That glimpse I saw before was real.'

'My master is a magnificent being, gradually reclaiming the Power that is rightfully his.'

'That's the only way to explain the speed of his Power's growth.'

With this in mind, the Eight-toothed Giant Elephant once again peeked at Andre through the link of their Master-Servant Contract.

The instant it took that peek, blood began to trickle from its eye sockets.

'I can't look! I mustn't look! He's even more terrifying than before.'

The Eight-toothed Giant Elephant blinked, and the bleeding from the wounds stopped.
