Chapter 1285: Greatest experts of the continent

Since this was quite the important matter, the Heavenly Demon didn’t waste time to gather all of the elders.

When they arrived, all of the elders had worried and confused looks on their faces.

After all, it wasn’t every day that the Heavenly Demon summoned them.

It wasn’t even normal for the Heavenly Demon to be doing his work in the first place.

That was why the elders were worried and confused when it actually happened.

This was the kind of reputation that he had built for himself over the years.

Though it wasn’t as if there was anyone that could have actually forced the Heavenly Demon to have done anything. The Heavenly Demon had already reached a point where he could have separated himself from the affairs of the Heavenly Demon Sect without a problem.

That was just how much influence he had on the entire Heavenly Demon Sect.

But in the end, there wasn’t a single person that knew what this meeting was about since the Heavenly Demon hadn’t told them anything.

He had only gathered them all, he didn’t include any details on what his meeting was for.

After they gathered, they waited for the Heavenly Demon to tell them what they had gathered for.

But there were a few elders that couldn’t help looking at the Poison King with a strange look.

This was a meeting that gathered the elders of the Heavenly Demon Sect, this was not the kind of place that just anyone could enter.

So the elders were confused why the Poison King had brought along this child.

Well, he wasn’t a child…but it wasn’t as if he was someone that should be here.

Yet he was sitting right beside the Poison King as if it was normal for him to be here.

The only one that recognized this person was the Blood King and he was even more confused because of it.

After all, he knew that this person was the Poison King’s disciple Lin Fan.

This certainly wasn’t a place where disciples should have been allowed in.

Once all of the elders had gathered, one of them suddenly asked, “Sect master, what did you call this meeting for?”

The Heavenly Demon didn’t say anything at first as he stared at everyone that was in this room.

When they saw him acting like this, the elders couldn’t help feeling even more confused.

After all, they just simply couldn’t read through the Heavenly Demon at all.

To a further extent, they had no idea if this was a good or bad thing that they had been called for.

After a while, the Heavenly Demon finally said, “I have an opportunity for us.”

All of the elders revealed even more confused looks when they heard this.

If it was just a simple opportunity, then there would be no need for him to summon all of them like this. It would have been much easier if he just sent them a message and talked to them in private.

But for the Heavenly Demon to call them all like this, it was clear that this wasn’t a simple opportunity.

Many of the elders couldn’t help looking like they were wondering just how big this opportunity would be.

Only before the Heavenly Demon could say anything else, there was an elder that suddenly asked, “Is this related to the special training grounds?”

All of the elders looked at that one elder when he spoke, but no one seemed surprised by this elder asking this. After all, this elder was the one that was responsible for the general affairs of the Heavenly Demon Sect.

It would be strange if there was something that he didn’t know about the Heavenly Demon Sect.

The Heavenly Demon wasn’t surprised either as he gave a calm nod in response.

Seeing this, everyone couldn’t help falling into deep thought as they tried to figure out what it was that the Heavenly Demon wanted to tell them.

But instead of the Heavenly Demon telling them, he called for someone else to come forward and tell them what was happening.

They were surprised to find it was Lin Fan who the Heavenly Demon called.

When he stepped forward, everyone couldn’t help narrowing their eyes to look at him.

After all, they didn’t think that he would be the one that was involved in this matter.

Once he was called forward, Lin Fan picked up the metal rod that had been left on the side.

Many of the elders didn’t know what this was since it wasn’t as if it was their responsibility to form the arrays in the first place. But there were those that did recognize this rod and knew what he was doing.

After a moment of silence, he raised it as if he was offering it to everyone to take a look at.

The moment that he did this, the elders that knew what this rod was came forward to look at it. When they did, there were surprised looks that appeared on their faces before they looked at Lin Fan with strange expressions.

Even when they looked at him like this, Lin Fan just looked back at all of them with the same calm look on his face.

After a moment of silence, the elder that was in charge of the general affairs asked, “How much of this can you produce?”

It was clear that he understood why the Heavenly Demon had called this meeting in the first place. It even seemed like he was excited because of this, as if he had found a treasure.

Lin Fan just calmly said, “I’ve only absorbed a small portion of it so far, but it should be triple of what it can produce passively.”

The eyes of the elders that understood immediately lit up when they heard this, but Lin Fan wasn’t done as he added, “Of course, this is just because I’m not used to this thing yet. Once I’m used to using it, I should be able to produce even more. I’m not certain what my limit is since I haven’t reached it yet.”

They seemed like they were about to explode from excitement when they heard this.

But there were looks of deep thought in their eyes as well.

They knew that for this to work, it would mean that they would have to sacrifice the Source Metal that they had been guarding. A person was certainly much harder to protect than an inanimate object.

At the same time, there was no guarantee that this Source Metal could be passed on once Lin Fan was gone.

So there were many things that they had to consider.

During this, the Heavenly Demon said, “While it might not be perfect if we think about it as a long term investment, it will be quite the useful thing for us right now. Not to mention that we should be able to think of a way to solve this in the long term with the abilities of the Heavenly Demon Sect.”

The elders had to think about it, but eventually most of them nodded in agreement.

After considering the pros and cons, it seemed like this was just too good of an opportunity for them to give up.

Once they came to this decision, many of the elders suddenly started looking at Lin Fan as if they were trying to figure out who he was and how the Heavenly Demon found him.

This ability that he had demonstrated was one that none of them had seen before, but it was miraculous enough that it shocked them all. So it was only natural that they would want to know more about Lin Fan.

The Poison King was the one that spoke up by saying, “This is my disciple.”

When all of the elders looked at him, he added, “He is also old Fire Fist’s disciple as well.”

Once he said this, all of the elders looked at Lin Fan differently.

Once they knew that he was a disciple of the Heavenly Demon Sect, they no longer held any suspicion towards him. Rather, it seemed like they wanted to know more about him and how they could make use of him.

Even though he was a core disciple under two of the Eight Kings, it seemed like that didn’t exclude him from this.

That was just how it was in a sect, especially a demonic sect.

People cared about their own benefits first and when Lin Fan offered them benefits like this, it was only natural that they would care about it more.

“Where will the first new caves be created?”

Once this question was asked, it seemed like everyone lost attention in Lin Fan and turned back to the Heavenly Demon.

The Heavenly Demon revealed a bitter smile as if he had already been expecting this, but he said, “Naturally the first thing that we will do is make sure that the special training ground is fully maintained and start our expansion there.”

The elders all nodded in agreement to this since they had already been expecting this.

But it seemed like they were waiting for something else from the Heavenly Demon.

The Heavenly Demon knew what they were expecting, so he didn’t waste any time as he said, “After that, it’s only natural that we will start expanding in other places since there will be no more space in the special training ground.”

This was what the elders had been waiting for.

But before they started discussing this, the Poison King said to Lin Fan, “You can go now.”

Lin Fan gave a nod and turned to leave, though he could feel a few gazes coming from behind him.
