Chapter 1284: A new source

The Heavenly Demon couldn’t help looking worried when he sensed this.

After all, the last time that Lin Fan broke through was still fresh on his mind since it had happened not that long ago. At the same time, he could still remember how shocking it was to see someone attracting tribulation lightning for a breakthrough in a minor realm.

If it were to happen in this place, there was no doubt that it would cause damage and attract attention.

When that time came, it would be hard to explain what happened.

But in the end, it didn’t seem like the breakthrough was coming.

It was only a small piece of a whole, so it wasn’t enough to actually push Lin Fan through to the next realm. This was even more so because he had already broken through not that long ago.

The way that he stood there was as if he was contemplating something. It was as if he was trying to figure out what had changed inside of him after he had absorbed the Source Metal.

But eventually, it seemed like Ye Qing Huan lost her patience and couldn’t help asking, “So, what happened?”

The Heavenly Demon and the Poison King shook their heads with faint smiles, but they didn’t say anything. After all, what she had asked was what they had been wanting to ask the entire time.

Lin Fan didn’t seem to answer at first as he continued looking at his hand, as if he was still trying to figure something out.

After a while, there was this energy that came out of him and surrounded his hand.

This was a strange looking form of energy that didn’t seem to have any form or colour at all. The only reason that they were able to tell that this energy was even there was because of the sensation that they felt from the space around Lin Fan’s hand.

It seemed like this energy wrapped around his hand, even if they had no idea what it was supposed to do.

After a while, they finally seemed to have realized something.

“It gives off the same sensation as the Source Metal.” The Heavenly Demon said all of a sudden.

The Poison King gave a nod in response.

Lin Fan finally turned over to look at them before saying, “Do you have any of the material that you used to create the arrays?”

The Heavenly Demon and the Poison King were surprised to hear this, but the Heavenly Demon moved over to the side where this was a hidden room. This hidden room opened as soon as he raised his token up to it.

Inside of this hidden room was a bunch of things, but just one look one was able to tell that these things were used to create the arrays that gathered the spiritual energy inside of the caves.

The Heavenly Demon took out a rod that seemed to be made of a special metal.

This wasn’t a metal that was on the same level as the Source Metal, but it was something that was quite rare on its own. This was a metal that without a doubt had special properties.

He brought this over to where Lin Fan was and raised it for him.

Lin Fan took this rod with the hand that had the energy around it, but it didn’t seem like anything was happening. With the way that he held it, it seemed like he was just looking at it without actually doing anything.

But those with sharp senses were able to tell that this wasn’t the case.

It was very faint, it seemed like the energy was slowly entering the rod that he was holding.

After a while, all of the energy that had been around Lin Fan’s hand seemed to have been completely absorbed by the rod itself.

Once that was over, Lin Fan raised the rod in his hand as if he was handing it back to the Heavenly Demon.

The Heavenly Demon took it with a confused look, but that expression soon changed into a surprised one. With his spiritual sense, he was able to easily tell that this rod was now filled with pure elemental energy.

That meant that this rod was ready to be used in the construction of more arrays that would be able to gather spiritual energy inside of caves.

The rod itself would be further divided so that it could fit the shape of the array, but there was no doubt that this rod was filled with pure elemental energy now.

“You’re able to control it?” The Heavenly Demon asked in a surprised voice.

Lin Fan gave a simple nod in response before also shaking his head as if he was denying this.

The Heavenly Demon couldn’t help being surprised when he saw this.

If Lin Fan was able to control the pure elemental energy, then it would make sense since he had absorbed the Source Metal. It would only be natural that he would be able to control it then.

But it seemed like there was something else that Lin Fan was trying to say.

Lin Fan walked over and picked up a few more of the rods that were there before doing the same thing.

The Heavenly Demon was surprised to see this, but he still said, “There’s no need to push yourself. You don’t have to give back that pure elemental energy, it’s fine for you to take it.”

But Lin Fan didn’t stop as he started imbuing these rods with the pure metal elemental energy.

As he did this, the Heavenly Demon and the Poison King revealed strange expressions on their faces. The two of them could tell that the amount of pure metal elemental energy that Lin Fan was releasing went beyond the amount that he had absorbed.

For him to keep releasing the pure metal elemental energy like this…

“You can actually use the Source Metal to generate more?” Both the Heavenly Demon and the Poison King asked in shocked voices.

Lin Fan gave a simple nod to confirm this.

The two of them quickly revealed looks of deep thought when they heard this.

They knew why Lin Fan was revealing this information to them, there was something that he wanted from them which was why he did all of this. As for what he wanted to do, it was naturally related to the Source Metal.

This was basically a trade at this point.

The Source Metal was the thing that they needed to maintain the pure metal elemental energy that flowed through all of the arrays. Without it, they wouldn’t be able to maintain those arrays any longer and this place would no longer be the same place.

It wouldn’t have all those different caves filled with dense spiritual energy for the cultivators of the Heavenly Demon Sect to cultivate in.

What Lin Fan was currently offering was the chance to expand that.

After all, there was an important part to what Lin Fan had demonstrated that caught their attention.

The most important thing was that Lin Fan had demonstrated that he was able to pull out even more pure metal elemental energy than what the Source Metal had.

That meant that after he absorbed the Source Metal, he would be able to use it to produce even more pure metal elemental energy than what they had been producing previously.

After all, what they had been doing before was passively letting the Source Metal form that pure metal elemental energy. It was barely enough for them to maintain what they currently had, so it was far from being able to expand this special training ground.

So what Lin Fan showed them was more than enough for them to understand that they would be able to expand since he would provide the pure metal elemental energy.

It was just that there was also a downside to this.

The Source Metal was an inanimate object, it was something that was much easier to guard than a living person. They were able to keep the Source Metal down here and protect it the entire time, it was definitely safer than someone that would be walking around.

After thinking about it, the Heavenly Demon said with a sigh, “You really are one that gives us plenty of surprises, aren’t you?”

Lin Fan just smiled without saying anything.

At the same time, there was a trace of pride that appeared in the Poison King’s eyes.

After all, this was his disciple that the Heavenly Demon was praising.

It was the same for Ye Qing Huan, that was her man that the Heavenly Demon was praising.

After another moment of silence, the Heavenly Demon finally said, “We’ll have to discuss this with the other elders, but I think that I can convince them. Though I might have to offer them a few things just in case.”

This last part was for Lin Fan, but he understood what he meant by this and he was prepared, so he gave a nod in response.

Seeing this, the Heavenly Demon gave a nod too without saying anything else.
