Chapter 1507: Chapter 1507: This Discomfort Is Physical
She reached out, gently cupping his face as her fingers lightly brushed his smooth skin, her voice even softer, "Matthew Saxon, my heart has long been yours. No one else can take it away, so does one day earlier or later really matter?"
"You scared me today. Though you seem much better now, your complexion still looks a bit haggard, and I truly worry about you."
"Right now, I just hope you can rest well, take care of your health, and once you’re recovered, I’ll agree to anything you want and won’t stop you anymore, okay?"
She touched Matthew’s face for a while, and in doing so, she couldn’t help but marvel at how great his skin was.
The texture was silky and delicate, as perfect as a peeled egg. In this regard, even she felt a bit inferior.
She thought that even if she applied a face mask ten times a day, she wouldn’t achieve such smooth skin.
Faced with such a handsome face, she too felt moments of losing control. It’s not just men who have certain impulses; as a woman, being with someone she liked, she couldn’t help reacting.
Just as Matthew longed for her, she yearned for him too.
But not now, now wasn’t the right time.
She didn’t want to affect his health for a fleeting moment of joy. Until a thorough checkup was done, she had to suppress all the eager thoughts inside her.
She coaxed, pleaded, and affectionately softened her voice, using multiple tactics against Matthew who couldn’t resist anymore. At this moment, if she wanted the stars in the sky, he would find a way.
Refusing her was simply impossible.
He took one of her hands from his face, brought it to his lips, kissed it, and sighed softly, as if helplessly, "You’ve said so much. If I don’t agree, it would make me look like a lecherous fool, right?"
In front of Scarlett, he indeed felt like a lecherous fool, any self-control he prided himself on was thrown to the wind.
Once he touched her, it was like an addiction; asking him to stop midway was pure torture.
Matthew was feeling uncomfortable, extremely uncomfortable.
This discomfort was physical.
The woman he loved was right in his arms, yet he could only look, not indulge. The feeling was pure agony.
Sliding off her side, he suddenly jumped out of bed, gritting his teeth and mumbling, "I’ll go take a shower."
With that, he turned and strode towards the bathroom.
He moved swiftly as if he were running.
Once inside the bathroom, Matthew stood under the cold water for at least half an hour.
In the dead of winter, the water was as cold as ice, drenching him from head to toe in cold water. The ice-cold droplets gradually cooled his heated body down, calming him completely before he shut the water off, casually drying himself with a towel, and stepped out with a robe on.
His complexion had been a bit haggard, and after the cold shower, his face appeared even paler.
As he walked out, he saw Scarlett already lying on the bed, the blanket wrapped tightly around her, with only the back of her head showing, facing him.
