Chapter 1505: Chapter 1505: Don’t Be Mad at Me Anymore
"I already said, I am..." Scarlett Yates opened her mouth, ready to continue the lie, but upon meeting Matthew Saxon’s scrutinizing gaze, she felt... that she couldn’t continue.
She felt guilty, lacking confidence, feeling that no matter what she said or did, he could see right through her.
So, she closed her mouth again.
Matthew Saxon’s voice sounded softly above her head, with emotions seemingly low, his voice deep and dull, "Forget it, if you don’t want to say, I won’t force you."
Her hair was still wet. Earlier, Matthew had only used a towel to help her dry it a bit, but then he got distracted, and the towel was thrown aside.
"I’ll get the hairdryer, dry your hair before sleeping, otherwise you’ll catch a cold."
He didn’t seem to plan on continuing to question her refusal’s true reason anymore, leaving the statement behind, and bypassing her as he got out of bed to fetch the hairdryer.
After a while, he returned with the hairdryer.
Scarlett Yates was naturally afraid that he might continue to question her.
If he kept asking, insisting to uncover the real reason, she truly wouldn’t know what to do.
But now... Matthew didn’t plan to ask anymore. She should’ve felt relieved, yet somehow, her heart felt anxious and guilty.
She raised her head to glance at him, biting her lip, her lips moved slightly, as if she wanted to say something to him.
It seemed Matthew was no longer angry.
Because at this moment, the expression on his face appeared calm, his gaze was also calm, so peaceful that it was impossible to discern the emotions in his eyes.
Precisely because he seemed too calm, Scarlett felt unease, as if she’d done something wrong.
Her lips moved twice more, appearing as if she wanted to say something, but feeling troubled, she ultimately just softly said, "Let me dry it myself."
Matthew ignored her words, walked straight behind her, and skillfully picked up her hair and began drying.
He dried her hair using the same method he used to towel it, picking up a strand, drying it, then picking another strand slowly.
This way, it ensured her hair was thoroughly dried from inside out.
For a moment, neither spoke.
In the large room, once without any voices, it appeared particularly quiet, only the sound of the hairdryer buzzing could be heard.
Matthew was still angry.
This, Scarlett could be sure of.
Though he seemed like nothing was wrong, no trace of anger could be found on his face, she could still tell he was angry about her earlier lie.
When he’s very angry, he’d be silent, not speaking like this.
As half of her hair was dried, Scarlett suddenly turned around and grabbed his hand.
"Scarlett?!" Matthew was momentarily stunned, a bit surprised, the hand she had grabbed trembled, and the hairdryer tilted slightly, almost catching her hair inside.
He never thought Scarlett would suddenly do this, it caught him off guard.
He hurriedly turned off the hairdryer, furrowed his brow, and looked down at her, "What are you doing?"
Scarlett looked up at him, biting her lip for a while, her voice soft, tinged with a bit of a pleading tone, "Please don’t be mad at me anymore, okay?"
