Chapter 1500: Chapter 1500: Why Does It Smell So Good
Scarlett Yates spoke honestly: "You used to blow it for me."
He paused, then chuckled softly: "Oh, then I’ll keep blowing it for you in the future."
Scarlett agreed without hesitation: "Okay."
She sat motionless, savoring Matthew Saxon’s attention to her needs.
She felt that Matthew was particularly meticulous, drying her hair section by section—compared to her own haphazard way of just grabbing a towel and wiping, his method took more time, but it was much more efficient overall.
The heater was on 24 hours in the room.
Perhaps because she’d just taken a shower, Scarlett felt especially hot, hotter than usual, as if the steam hadn’t fully evaporated from her pores and her face was flushed, still releasing heat.
Matthew’s fingers occasionally grazed her cheeks.
His fingers carried a slight chill, yet whenever they accidentally touched her face, she felt warmth.
It was as if his fingertips had ignited a flame, and when they brushed against her skin, the heat would spread across her face.
"Scarlett, what shampoo are you using?"
Behind her, where Scarlett couldn’t see, Matthew’s gaze turned dark, and his voice grew huskier.
He leaned near her head, inhaling softly, his husky voice carrying a hint of laughter: "Why does it smell so good?"
When he asked this, Scarlett couldn’t help but laugh: "The same as yours. Whatever shampoo you have in the bathroom, that’s what I use."
He surely knew what shampoo he used, so why was he asking her?
Matthew gently shook his head: "It can’t be the same. How come I never noticed that the shampoo smelled this good before? Are you sure you’re not lying?"
"Why would I lie to you, it’s just that purple bottle of shampoo, isn’t that what you usually use?"
"But..."
Matthew leaned into her neck and inhaled deeply; his voice grew even huskier, as if he were speaking directly beside her ear: "Why is it that everyone’s using the same bottle of shampoo, yet when you use it, it smells so fragrant?"
She froze, her back visibly stiffening: "There’s no difference, stop teasing me."
"It really smells wonderful." The towel, at some point, had been tossed aside by Matthew.
His hand gently pressed on Scarlett’s shoulder, turning her to face him.
As Scarlett turned, she met his bright, shining eyes, and her heart skipped a beat, her heartbeat suddenly racing.
Scarlett’s hair was very smooth, smooth enough that even without being combed, fingers could glide through it easily. Matthew’s fingers threaded through her strands, then gently landed on her cheek.
He cradled her face, his intense eyes unwaveringly fixed on her, as if she hadn’t heard him before, he repeated his earlier words: "Scarlett, tell me, why does your hair smell so good? Did you do something to the shampoo that I’m unaware of, hmm?"
To prove he wasn’t lying, he cupped a lock of her hair in his palm, leaned down to inhale its scent, then raised his head to look at her, smiling: "I’ve used that shampoo for so long, how come when you use it, it smells particularly fragrant?"
Scarlett’s throat felt dry, her voice strained: "I... how would I know, maybe there’s something wrong with your nose."
