Chapter 1450: Chapter 1450: I Still Like You

"Even I don’t get such treatment, why does he?"

"Would you say that this means I’m jealous, envious?"

"If it weren’t because I like you, care about you, why would I get angry, furious, jealous just because you treat another man a little better?"

"So, Scarlett, I still like you. Although realizing this took me some time, I hope it isn’t truly too late. You said before that you’d wait for me to regain my memory, do you remember that?"

Scarlett Yates’s expression gradually grew complex.

She stared at Matthew Saxon for a long time, long enough to discern whether these words came from his true heart. After a while, she slowly put down the cup she’d held at her lips for a long time.

The juice in the cup remained untouched.

She pressed her lips together, her brow slightly frowning: "Matthew Saxon... what is the purpose of you telling me these things?"

Matthew Saxon smiled gently, his voice soft: "Scarlett, what do you think? Didn’t you hear that I’m trying to keep you? I hope you can come back to the Saxon Family with me. I hope we can reconcile. I hope you can forgive me."

Scarlett Yates froze for a moment, then suddenly let out a cold laugh: "Matthew Saxon, are you saying that you’ve suddenly realized you still like me?"

How long has it been?

Just one night passed, and he suddenly discovered he liked her?

This psychological shift is a bit too fast.

Last night he still brought a woman back, leaving her in an unbearable situation for the sake of that woman, but now he’s confessing with a look of deep affection and gentleness.

What distinguishes his behavior from being split-personality?

Such a confession, she dared not believe.

"Yes, Scarlett, I still like you." Having realized his true feelings, Matthew Saxon spoke candidly, since he didn’t want to divorce Scarlett Yates, he certainly needed to find a way to mend their relationship.

The previous hesitation was because he was still unsure whether to keep her.

He always found her to be a trouble, and if he kept her, she would inevitably cause him lots of trouble in the future.

But even knowing she’s a trouble now, she’s also a trouble he can’t bear to let go.

He admitted it so directly, Scarlett Yates was stunned for a few seconds; her eyes growing more complex, for a moment, unsure what to say.

In the midst of a frustrated and conflicted mood, she again tightly gripped the transparent glass of orange juice; after taking the glass up and drinking a couple of sips, her mind slowly started to clear.

"Matthew Saxon, do you enjoy the feeling of having someone at your mercy?"

A mocking smile hung on her lips as she looked at him and said, "You say you like me, so I should believe?"

"You say you like me, so I should forgive everything you’ve done, then cheerfully accept your confession, and happily go back to the Saxon Family with you?"

"You’re unhappy, having a bad mood, so I should pack up and leave; now your mood’s better, you’ve said a few words about liking me, and you want me to follow you back?"

"What do you take me for, something you play with when happy, and toss aside when unhappy?"

"I didn’t think of it like that." Matthew Saxon frowned. 𝑓𝑟ℯℴ𝓂

"I won’t go back with you." Scarlett Yates quickly cleared those chaotic thoughts in her mind, paused, and continued, "I’m living pretty well outside; for now, I don’t plan to go back."
