Chapter 1395: You Haven’t Changed Yet, Young Master!
Chapter 1395: Chapter 1395: You Haven’t Changed Yet, Young Master!
To be exact, Matthew Saxon’s urgency was only indirect; he didn’t directly make her leave.
But... forcing her to leave like that—what’s the difference?
He wanted her to apologize to his new girlfriend. If she silently accepted such humiliation, her pride would truly be lost.
Pride doesn’t really count for much; it doesn’t make money and often leads to losses.
Those who care too much about pride suffer more compared to shameless people.
But life boils down to dignity, and if you even give up on that, what’s the point of living? She can’t commit shameless acts.
"So, he just let you leave, without stopping you?"
With a bang, Knox Simmons seemed to have pushed open the door.
Scarlett Yates heard a voice from over there—it was a girl’s voice: "Young Master, Young Master, where are you going?"
Then, Knox’s exasperated voice sounded: "Don’t mind me, do I have to report to you wherever I go?"
"Young Master, it’s midnight now; it’s snowing outside, it’s so cold. If you need anything, just give an order. Why are you going out yourself?" The girl seemed to chase after him, sounding a bit anxious.
"It’s snowing?" Knox’s tone suddenly rose by a few degrees.
The girl seemed startled by his reaction, paused for a few seconds before lowering her voice: "Yes, it’s snowing, it’s minus 15 degrees. If it’s not something that has to be done right now, Young Master, you should go tomorrow."
"Damn it!"
Knox muttered under his breath and then the sound of hurried footsteps down the stairs followed. He seemed to be running—his steps quick and chaotic, panting slightly as he spoke: "Scarlett, wait for me, I’m coming to find you right away. Listen to me, while I don’t know exactly what’s happened between you and Matthew Saxon, you can’t stay outside in such cold weather. Go back right now, don’t worry about being angry with him for now. Once you’re back, stay anywhere that’s indoors."
"Otherwise, by the time I get there, you’ll be frozen stiff. I don’t want to find you turned into a little snowman."
He ran downstairs in one breath, the maid hurriedly following behind him: "Young Master, Young Master, you haven’t changed clothes yet, Young Master!"
Knox paid her no mind, his focus solely on Scarlett, feeling anxious and worried when he heard no reply from her: "Scarlett, did you hear me? Make a sound, you’re not really frozen, are you?"
"I’m here." Tears silently fell again, Scarlett bit her lip, took a deep breath, and slowly said, "Knox Simmons, listen to me, you don’t need to hurry; I’m perfectly fine, no need to rush over."
"The ground is slippery, don’t drive too fast. I’ll listen to you; I’ll go back soon."
"Also, change your clothes before coming. I seem to have heard someone say you haven’t changed clothes yet?"
By this time, Knox had already pushed open the door and gone outside.
He casually curled his lips: "Whether I’ve changed clothes is irrelevant; with my striking appearance, I can pull off any outfit. Even if I’m in pajamas, I look a hundred times better than others in formal wear. It’s all about the charisma, you know?"
Her whole body was cold and shivering, her heart ached with cold, yet Scarlett couldn’t help but burst into laughter: "What kind of charisma is that? Is it the charisma of a rogue?"
