Will of chaos

Chapter 1878 - 1878: Cap 1874 (Remade): Battling an Avatar of the Curse

Author’s Note:

I apologize for my absence. I’ve been sick for almost two weeks, but the last few days I’ve felt worse because of the medication, which made me put everything aside to recover. Now I’m much better and will return to my normal routine. I truly hope nothing like this happens again.

“I could ask who you are, but a Bringer of Chaos is too illustrious to be unknown.” (Raakoy)

“I know about you too, but I won’t waste time while your reinforcements are on the way.” (me)

“So the Ascended attack was indeed your idea to separate us. Krimus was right in the end.” (Raakoy)

“(I knew… I knew it wouldn’t be that easy…)” (me)

Exactly the powerful enemy Ronan told me about, it seems he was here. This could get dangerous, I have to be quick if I want to end this quickly.

His few words were both a bluff and a warning to me. He wanted to see how I would react to the news about the Ascendant attack, as well as Krimus’s presence nearby. He wanted to find out if we were involved in this, or at least make us leave so he wouldn’t face Krimus, someone said to have power similar to that of Ohara. I can’t face something like that, not even if I Incarnate all my Familiars and summon my awakened Eclipse Sword. I still wouldn’t have the confidence to overcome the power I sensed in Ohara at that time.

“I really have nothing against you, and I also have nothing against Curse, but you must die.” (me)

“Foolish child…” (Raakoy)

“< Release >” (me)

“< Unholy Breath >” (me)

Knowing that there was a stronger enemy nearby, I couldn’t let this go on for long, especially since he already knew about me. Curse must have already informed all his Avatars about us.

I unleashed my sealed power now that I no longer needed to hide. I vowed to launch a surprise attack against him, but it seemed impossible from the start. This pool of blood was protecting him. I could feel the flow of vitality flowing from the pool to him. Any kind of damage like that would have been useless.

To test his power, I began with my most destructive attack. My head transformed into that of a Dragon while my body transformed into a hybrid form, keeping my height below 2 meters.

My breath attack was aimed at him. I didn’t want to talk, I didn’t have time for that, so I attacked with everything I had, but I didn’t specifically attack him. My attack was directed at the pool or lake of blood where we were standing.

The liquid star flames hit the blood and spread to the sides like a nuclear explosion, licking all the blood in this place with star flames.

The Starfire doesn’t burn; it’s a flame of Chaos that represents a universe, the symbol of infinite transformations between creation and destruction. The more I use these flames, the more I perceive their depths and better harness their power.

“Interesting flames, it doesn’t burn, it applies an intermediary effect for transition… no, it feels like something different… but, I don’t know how to explain it…” (Raakoy)

“< Unholy Incarnation >” (me)

“< Divine Invocation: Eclipse Sword >” (me)

My body tries to grow to its true size as power explodes from within my Soul and beyond. A sensation of immense power tries to take over me, and I push it away. My will crushes this interference while my body remains the same size. My fist destroys a portion of space, drawing a sword filled with Divine power containing my Divine Weapon fused within it.

“Your curses to influence my mind don’t work.” (me)

My eyes wandered as my Aura exploded. All of Raakoy’s illusions had disappeared into the depths of the pool, but there were still many similar presences at the bottom. He still thought he could hide from my eyes.

I could see which presence was real. They were all cursed illusions, with mind-bending effects that materialized to attack. If I had been fooled by any of these illusions, he could attack me with it, pretending to be his real body.

But while all the presences were at the bottom of the blood pool, he was shrouded in illusions still above the blood pool. The markings around his body glowed, and space didn’t even seem to register that he was usurping that area. A technique that made him escape even my senses if it weren’t for my new eye. Only my instincts told me they were nearby, and even then I couldn’t pinpoint his location with such precision without my senses pointing the way.

He did something to mess with my mind; it was powerful enough to have affected me even minimally. Considering how strong my Will is, even among Gods as tall as my mother, it was clear how powerful this bastard’s curses are.

“< 1st Stellar Sword Art: World Consumer >” (me)

“Since you don’t want to talk, then let’s get this over with.” (Raakoy)

“< Origin Curse: Cursed Guardian >” (Raakoy)

“< Predatory Slash > ×100” (me)

“< Get Up >” (Raakoy)

I think this is one of the few times I’m not the one trying to kill time in a fight. Having a timer above my head is a horrible feeling. With my sword in hand, I activate my first sword art, the only one I can use continuously during combat.

My ability to devour everything has always been the core of my power. It was my first skill and what allowed me to evolve this far. Even if it’s not as irreplaceable as it once was, it’s still the foundation of my existence. That’s why it was also my first Star Sword Art. Every time I use these sword arts, I see new horizons and feel greater depths.

As much as I’d like to use a powerful attack, I can’t do it here. There are others fighting nearby, and I also can’t dare to cause large-scale damage to the ritual. The Twins and Yaffe seem intent on dismantling this world ritual. I also don’t want to activate this thing incorrectly and end up damaging us all in the process.

Being so restricted against an Avatar-class enemy is simply horrifying to me, without realizing that an even worse possibility still exists.

I felt a strong, cursed energy gathering beneath the blood of this giant pool. I looked down, but I still had a sense of the true body hidden above the blood, thinking it was hidden.

Sword in hand, I swung downward, unleashing 100 sword strikes, and with one powerful blow, I split the pool in half. All the accumulated curse power began to disperse, the energy flows within the pool torn apart by the sword’s multiple slashes. All this dispersing energy was sucked into the sword, devoured by the sword to be refined.

Just as I expected, he seized the moment of my attack to move against me. He appeared above me in a pose with his hand surrounded by a faint energy, while a strong cursed energy exploded behind me. It was merely a powerful blast of cursed energy with no real function other than distraction.

He was cautious with his attacks, and his hand suddenly released a slimy purple energy that took the form of a shark with a thick serpentine tail and two pairs of thick arms with very sharp claws.

“Do it now.” (me)

“< Universal Eclipse Magic: Reality Ray >” (Tarzor)

From my shadow emerged a Dragon’s head, opening its jaws. A beam that looked like a portal to another universe streaked through space at a speed even I couldn’t follow with my eyes. It was an attack that gathered the power of Reality within the Universe of Tarzor, a charged attack that left no trace for anyone outside.

The attack made no sound, as silent as it was destructive. The space in its path was annihilated, along with the left half of Raakoy’s body. Yet he was still smiling at me, the remaining half of his body flickering as if it were an illusion about to vanish. But his smile was a bad omen I wouldn’t let remain.

“< Seal of the World-Predator >” (me)

I thrust my sword at the remaining half, its blade opening like the jaws of a beast lunging at it, but before it could reach it, purple goo surged from the blood still beneath, pushing my sword away as streams of Starfire shattered its body like the mud it appeared to be.

“Good… good… VERY GOOD!!!” (Raakoy)

“So this is how you fight, how wonderful… schemes, deceptions, and feints… preparation even before combat, splendid!!” (Raakoy)

Applause

Applause! Applause!

I heard a round of applause, and when I looked at the source in front of me, I saw it was Raakoy. There was a translucent hand clapping along with his other remaining hand. Then that translucent hand began to take shape and color, while the rest of his arm began to emerge, along with the rest of his body, until he was whole again.

But it didn’t come out of nowhere. My new eye could see that this newly formed half of his body was created by deforming the curse of this place, which perfectly assimilates with his real body.

“This curse… you’ve merged with this place.” (Me)

“This place was literally created by me, it’s part of me, so I can control it as easily as I use my arms… or so it should be… unfortunately, my attention can’t be everywhere.” (Raakoy)

“…” (Me)

“Don’t look at me like that; I was the one who had half my body destroyed.” (Raakoy)

He was laughing, but he didn’t take the initiative to attack again. He went back to stalling for time by talking. He’s more cautious with me. He also knows about Tarzor, so he won’t fall for the same trick twice.
