Wilderness Survival with Druid System

Chapter 1080 - 99: Training

After Chen Wen acquired this trait, he felt that his aura was somewhat conflicting with the Northeast Tiger.

The Northeast Tiger felt it even more noticeably.

It could clearly feel that Chen Wen suddenly seemed to become a more powerful, ferocious, and imposing Northeast Tiger than it.

To be honest, the Northeast Tiger was a bit afraid now.

This feeling was completely different from the previous oppressive feeling brought by Chen Wen; it was a very dangerous feeling.

It was as if Chen Wen would leap forward in the next second and kill it, the intruder of Chen Wen’s territory.

It kind of wanted to escape.

Seeing the Northeast Tiger’s anxious appearance, Chen Wen temporarily weakened the suppressive effect of the [Mountain Lord].

He patted the Northeast Tiger’s head as a gesture of comfort.

The Northeast Tiger even actively leaned its head over a bit.

Wow, the effect of this trait is indeed dominant.

The old saying goes, "There cannot be two tigers in one mountain," and it seems there’s some truth to it.

If two Northeast Tigers with this trait came together, they would absolutely not coexist peacefully!

That’s why wild Northeast Tigers generally have very expansive territories and rarely encounter each other, perhaps related to this survival characteristic.

Chen Wen thought to himself.

After picking the right trait, Chen Wen began special training for the Northeast Tiger on how to deter other animals.

Simply put, it’s to stimulate the Northeast Tiger to show its fierce side.

This training is meant to bring out the ferocity in the Northeast Tiger’s bones, so it can establish itself in the forest.

Initially, Chen Wen planned to use his combat skills, using a spear to provoke the Northeast Tiger and make it fierce.

But after acquiring the trait [Mountain Lord], Chen Wen found the trait’s stimulating effect seemed better.

So he decided to use [Mountain Lord] to stimulate the Northeast Tiger.

Under the stimulation of [Mountain Lord], the Northeast Tiger’s aura immediately subsided.

Due to the distance from the camp here.

Chen Wen then lowly scolded: "What are you afraid of? I won’t kill you. Stand up and attack me!"

The Northeast Tiger felt even more intense fear from Chen Wen’s scolding.

Seeing this, Chen Wen slightly frowned.

Could it be the pressure at the start was too much?

He slightly eased the suppression, saying, "Don’t you want to continue surviving here? If you can’t even pass this test, then forget about it!"

"Tomorrow, I’ll contact your original owner and send you right back! Safely be a domestic kitty in a cage!"

Hearing this, the Northeast Tiger seemed to remember something.

With its teeth bared, it barely growled at the ground: "I won’t!"

It stood up, glaring at Chen Wen with its big eyes.

Chen Wen slightly frowned: "Be more fierce, are you trying to act cute with those eyes?"

Although the Northeast Tiger didn’t really understand what acting cute meant, it felt this wasn’t a good term.

Especially for it, wanting to survive in this dangerous forest.

It growled again.

Though it still didn’t roar at Chen Wen’s gaze, it finally somewhat resembled a fierce animal.

It’s making progress.

Chen Wen thought, as he began continuous training.

And through Chen Wen’s training, this Northeast Tiger gradually began to change, though not much within just one night.

Approaching dawn, Chen Wen stopped the training and praised the Northeast Tiger.

Then informed it of the next task.

Which is to help Chen Wen guard the food.

The Northeast Tiger willingly accepted this task and listened carefully to Chen Wen’s instructions.

...

The next morning, when Hua Yun woke up, she still regarded the Northeast Tiger as a kitty.

During breakfast, Hua Yun asked: "How do you plan to train it?"

Chen Wen laughed: "I trained it a bit last night. This guy is making good progress. I think with a bit more training this morning, it’ll be about ready."

Hua Yun was taken aback, really?

To reassure Hua Yun, Chen Wen called the Northeast Tiger beside him.

He pointed to the ground by the food, and said: "Sit!"

The Northeast Tiger understood.

It immediately sat by the food, looking directly at Chen Wen.

"Wow? Is it really this amazing?"

Hua Yun exclaimed.

Even though this Northeast Tiger had been somewhat tamed, achieving this effect in just half a night wasn’t easy.

"By the way..."

Hua Yun asked again: "Was its trainer from Hua Country? How can it understand Chinese commands?"

Chen Wen was momentarily stunned.

But after thinking for a while, he said: "Maybe, I’m not quite sure myself, but the training went smoothly for me."

Possibly just a coincidence.

Hua Yun didn’t think much more about it.

She asked what to do if other animals came.

But Chen Wen pointed to the Northeast Tiger’s body, somewhat speechless, and said: "Do you think those mid to small-sized predators scavenging for meat, seeing this thing lingering near the food, would dare approach? Even humans would likely take a wide detour."

"Well, that’s certainly true."

Hua Yun slapped her forehead, feeling like her brain wasn’t processing properly.

With such a top-of-the-food-chain beast guarding here, would those animals daring to steal food even think about coming over?

Definitely not.

If they dared to take a peek, they might end up as food themselves!

Hua Yun didn’t bring up the topic again; she had decided to trust Chen Wen.

And Chen Wen also settled the upcoming plan.

That is, storing the food near the camp, guarded by the Northeast Tiger, and after they hunt far away and return, bringing all the food back to the camp.

Though by then, it would likely be necessary to have the Golden Eagle bring Adam or Gaston over from the camp.

The three of them would probably be needed to transport all the food back.

After firming up the plan, Chen Wen and Hua Yun began storing food.

Chen Wen was quite experienced in storing food.

He divided food storage into three steps.

The first step is to process the prey; the easiest-to-rot innards must be removed to feed the Northeast Tiger, allowing it to focus on guarding the remaining food.

Processing the prey wasn’t difficult.

Working together with Hua Yun, they spent half the morning cleaning up all their prey, skinning them and removing the innards.

These innards were piled around the camp as exposed food storage for the Northeast Tiger.

The second step is rough processing.

Given the cold weather here, food rots slowly, so this step isn’t complex.

If it were elsewhere, the food would need to be dried or smoked for preservation.

But near the soon-to-be-frozen Lake Baikal, this step isn’t necessary; simply cut the meat into strips and hang it to preserve.

Preserved like this, these meat strips could last three to five days, or even half a month, without necessarily rotting or spoiling.

It can be considered an excellent storage method.

Hua Yun naturally agreed with this idea, thus during the remaining half morning and the entire afternoon, the two of them preserved the previously hunted prey into strips.

Chen Wen also collected the bones, partly planning to use them as food storage for the Northeast Tiger and partly intending to make bone soup during the snow.

A bowl of bone soup during the cold winter can be quite comforting.

Rich in energy, fat, and warmth, and most importantly, you can eat the meat on the bones, making it a delightful experience!
