When Mo Kai opened the first paper, his finger marked the first red dot at the page margin, followed by the second and third ones.

These were his habitual mark points. While reading the paper, he would skim the entire text, marking key points that deserved attention, and then conduct a secondary review after finishing.

But today, as Mo Kai pulled the progress bar to the bottom, preparing to scroll the mouse back, his thoughts moved ahead of his hands.

Abstract, method, results, discussion—each part had a clear position in his mind.

Each part clearly surfaced in his mind and automatically formed a brief framework according to his usual habit. Simply following this framework, he could almost directly use the paper for a brief report.

Mo Kai instinctively started to record, occasionally backtracking to verify some key data, or to copy large conceptual sections for time-saving purposes.

After finishing, Mo Kai discovered that summarizing the article took less than half the usual time.

[Am I this amazing now?]

It’s important to note that Mo Kai’s brain had already been through a period of work, and it wasn’t fresh, so normally the work efficiency should have decreased.

With the momentum rolling, Mo Kai smoothly read the second, third, and fourth papers until all the Chinese literature was finished, leaving only the difficult English literature.

Checking the time, the corners of his mouth couldn’t help lifting upward.

He turned his head thoughtfully and looked at Nan Zhubin beside him.

Mo Kai realized this strange trend, as if his concentration was exceptionally focused whenever Nan Zhubin was nearby.

This situation wasn’t inexplicable, because of his special growing environment, Mo Kai knew some people could influence their surroundings silently. Sometimes, even without that specific person putting in any effort, just their "presence" seemed to make everything particularly smooth.

Today was like any other day, yet different; today, Mo Kai felt his state was even better than usual.

And Mo Kai’s purpose in looking at Nan Zhubin was not to compare himself. In terms of professional ability, Mo Kai always saw Nan Zhubin as a frog in a well gazing at the moon—a self-aware frog.

Despite Mo Kai’s high emotional intelligence and genial demeanor being just social etiquette learned since childhood, his pride was never small.

But with Nan Zhubin, Mo Kai was always willing to look up to him.

He was just thinking, is the current me getting a little closer to this senior brother who always seemed out of reach...

"Finished reading the Chinese literature?"

Mo Kai blinked, his gaze meeting Nan Zhubin’s just right.

"Uh... uh, finished reading."

"I’m done on my side." Nan Zhubin said calmly. Both he and Mo Kai were first-year grad students, so the tasks they received were to read the literature sent by Bi Yanling to Blue Tie. After getting the list from Blue Tie, they split the workload equally.

And domestic psychology tutors generally had a requirement for students referring to literature: Read less domestic literature and more foreign literature.

If the references had to include Chinese literature, foreign literature had to outnumber Chinese literature by several times.

Otherwise, it couldn’t demonstrate that the article was professional and innovative.

At this moment, Nan Zhubin, who had finished all the Chinese and English literature, looked at Mo Kai, who had just finished the Chinese literature.

"Share some of yours with me, roughly—" Nan Zhubin swiped almost all the files from Mo Kai’s computer screen, "—these."

"...Alright." Mo Kai nodded silently.

Feeling like a tiny creature seeing the vast sky.

He turned back and continued to silently browse the papers, organizing with far surpassing usual efficiency.

With the earlier interlude passed, he now felt increasingly calm, and his efficiency unexpectedly rose another notch.

Time slid by in that silence.

Mo Kai originally thought he would need to read into the late night to finish the task, but when he finally finished the last paper and was about to reach for his water cup, he noticed the time on the bottom right of the computer system—about two hours had passed since they started reading.

He blinked, thinking he saw it wrong. Looking at his phone again, the time matched the computer.

In terms of evening class time, from dinner until now, even the first major session of the night wasn’t over yet.

"...Senior Brother?" Mo Kai turned his head to look at Nan Zhubin. Nan Zhubin was closing the last open PDF, one browser tab after another.

"You... finished reading?" Mo Kai asked.

"Finished reading." Nan Zhubin replied.

"..." Mo Kai nodded, "Then should we go report to the teacher now?"

"You go," Nan Zhubin sent a compiled Word document to Mo Kai, turning his gaze toward Shi Qianqian, "I’ll help Senior Sister with backtracking. She’s a bit too slow turning over records by herself."

This task was a bit harder, not something Mo Kai could complete at this stage.

"Okay."

Mo Kai nodded, went over the document compiled by Nan Zhubin, and merged it with his own.

After organizing his thoughts for a while, he stood up and walked to the study room door, knocking twice. Receiving a response, he pushed the door open and entered.

Mo Kai handed over the tablet, "Teacher, my senior brother and I just finished outlining those papers."

"So fast?!" Bai Qinghua blinked.

Bai Qinghua took the tablet, quickly swiped through it at a speed Mo Kai couldn’t imagine, and then turned to glance at the time.
