Who would study psychology unless they had some issues?!

Chapter 1120 - 834: This Is a Sect War_2

"Director He has already resolved it and informed me about the situation."

Nan Zhubin was taken aback. So many things happened without his knowledge?

Today at Jingwei, while he was working, no one came to ask him anything. When he ran into Director He on the way, it was just the usual greeting.

It was simply a "normal" day.

Shi Qianqian’s expression immediately changed, becoming the same as her mentor and senior sister.

"Although nothing significant happened, Director He told me something quite interesting."

"It was that a teacher from our school’s Psychological Health Center called the dean at Jingwei, wanting to recommend a student under them as a part-time consultant to gain consulting hours—of course, this was rejected by the dean, as the students generally lack sufficient qualifications."

Nan Zhubin’s qualifications were sufficient, making him an exception.

"After being rejected, our center’s teacher mentioned that a young postgraduate student from the school was already stationed there, which led to the dean at Jingwei questioning Director He, which then led to subsequent events—"

Bai Qinghua explained the matter in just a few words.

But clearly, this matter wouldn’t just end like that.

"I asked Director He which teacher from our school responded to Jingwei’s dean, and Director He helped us find out thoroughly."

"And when I went to have a chat with that teacher, I only then found out—"

Nan Zhubin seemed to have the answer in his heart and tentatively added, "Is it Teacher Bi Yanling?"

Bai Qinghua nodded.

Weng Pinting chuckled lightly and picked up the conversation from her teacher.

"This person doesn’t have a clear mind, but she’s quite clever."

"She doesn’t take consulting seriously for herself, nor does she arrange for her students to do consulting—after all, all her students have to work on her projects."

"But she teaches electives, so she probably gets asked about consulting by students regularly. After our ’contact’ last week, she probably couldn’t let it go and used those students."

"She recommended those students who wanted to do consulting to Jingwei, but also said she didn’t have any connections there, so she let the students go to the teachers at the Psychological Center—because after all, many of our center’s teachers have interned at Jingwei. The most senior consultant was a training teacher at Jingwei in the early years."

"It went through several twists and turns, but it was useless." Weng Pinting tossed her hair.

Nan Zhubin understood. Bai Qinghua and Weng Pinting must have spent the day sorting out the details of this matter.

Bi Yanling—just like Weng Pinting said, indeed has some cleverness. If it were someone else, they might really be fooled by Bi Yanling.

After all, first of all, Nan Zhubin being a stationed consultant at Jingwei is no secret; the interns in the second year know it’s his job, and a little inquiry would uncover it.

These second-year interns might have been, or may have been, part-time student consultants at the Psychological Center.

Under such circumstances, it makes sense for the teachers at the Psychological Center to know this information; if others knew the center’s teachers contacted the dean, it wouldn’t raise much suspicion either.

Perhaps it was a well-intentioned teacher providing a clear path for a part-time student consultant wishing to advance?

Students being ambitious and wanting to station is a good thing and something teachers should support.

In the worst case, even if the related personnel looked into it and found out it wasn’t a part-time student consultant from the center but rather a regular student from the college making the request, most people wouldn’t find anything wrong with it.

Nan Zhubin being a stationed consultant at the college level isn’t a secret either; at least his classmates knew, the teachers responsible for approving leaves knew, and when the news spread, who knows how many people ended up knowing in the end.

Would the relevant personnel still painstakingly track down the student and verify the source of the information individually?

Yet, Bai Qinghua and Weng Pinting are precisely the kind of perceptive people; as soon as there’s anything off concerning Nan Zhubin, they would meticulously verify it.

Don’t say Bi Yanling took just two turns, even the winding Yellow River couldn’t hide its clarity from them.

"In theory, this matter is settled." Bai Qinghua turned towards Nan Zhubin, offering some comfort first.

"But now we—I mean solving merely ’a matter’ isn’t enough." He shifted his focus, narrowing his eyes.

"The thesis proposal issue, although somewhat on the table and open, justified procedural steps could be found."

"I remember last time, when Pinting individually spoke with Bi Yanling over the phone, I thought it was unnecessary. Who knew now...?"

People in scientific academia tend to have low emotional intelligence; being in school for a few years without knowing the ropes of social interaction is understandable.

After all, studying psychology doesn’t mean one is adept at social interactions, tinkering with basic experiments leads to a bunch of one-track minds; even those who are practical could roll up their sleeves and start a fight when interests between factions are involved.

But—

To be honest, Bai Qinghua initially didn’t take Bi Yanling too seriously.

One must consider their respective capacities.

"How dare she?" Weng Pinting frowned and voiced Bai Qinghua’s thoughts, "Even if she doesn’t understand herself, wouldn’t her husband remind her?"

In truth, Bai Qinghua felt somewhat wronged.

In recent years, indeed there’s been a bit of slack, but was the past deep cultivation in the domestic professional field fake? Were all the previous efforts in his career for naught?

But beyond feeling wronged, Bai Qinghua didn’t feel an outburst of anger.

In its place was a sense of calm.

"This matter is no longer trivial." Bai Qinghua glancing around the e-sports room he cleared out during the day himself, remarked, "What she did to Zhuren today might be just a minor tactic, but who knows what other means she might use afterward to trouble people."

"Today it’s Zhuren, tomorrow it could be Qian Qian, Dahui, or Pinting."

Bai Qinghua didn’t mention himself.

"Our research has always been rigorous and sound, project procedures legal and compliant. But this type of secretive scheming form is not only irksome but also distracts our efforts from doing important work."

"Like last time with Xiaowan’s thesis proposal. So many of my students, so many of your senior brothers, might exhaust all their energy on graduating, with not much left for dealing with someone’s deceit in the dark."

Bai Qinghua concluded, "Therefore, at least in Beidu Normal University, in Beidu, Bi Yanling doesn’t need to work within our profession anymore. I say that."

Nan Zhubin blinked, suddenly sensing a subtle energy rising beside him.

Turning to look, he found Weng Pinting brimming with "eager anticipation".

Nan Zhubin couldn’t help but glance towards the study room door, closed and locked.

His intuition told him a big move was coming.

Sure enough, Bai Qinghua continued to make the following arrangements:

First, to intercept all of Bi Yanling’s future projects.

"I will call a few journal editors I know, coincidentally I also have senior brothers working there. I will inquire about the directions of recent submissions by Bi Yanling and her husband. Then we will see if there are any areas we can squeeze in these directions."

"Also, regarding their ongoing projects, I will make some calls. It happens that this year’s new students are quite ambitious, hence they are currently short of projects."

Nan Zhubin blinked and suddenly felt something was off.

He tentatively asked a question meant to lighten the mood: "Teacher, wouldn’t this attract gossip, it sounds a bit—too authoritarian?"

After all, the event began from his questioning as a stationed consultant, he didn’t want his sect to attract criticism.

Bai Qinghua, however, frowned in confusion: "We are authoritarian, aren’t you aware?"
