Who Says I'm Not a Proper Adventurer?
Chapter 277: Thousand Descendants’ Blessing, Pole Star, Dusk Royal Court
Chapter 277: Chapter 277: Thousand Descendants’ Blessing, Pole Star, Dusk Royal Court
[Galeos has granted you the right to share his legend.]
[Congratulations, you have obtained the Heroic Spirit Trait "Thousand Descendants’ Blessing." You can adapt this trait to a title you already possess.]
Standing in the square, Lance watched the notification pop up on his panel, a brow raised slightly.
This was yet another completely new blind spot in his Knowledge.
Condensing a Heroic Spirit’s mortal legend into a trait clearly involved high-level Power from the Star Realm.
However, before he could examine the specific Effects of "Thousand Descendants’ Blessing," the previously stable line of text suddenly began to flicker and flash as if disrupted by some unknown force.
[Detecting abnormal activity from Source Material "Foreigner"...]
Immediately after, the previous notification about using the trait changed bizarrely.
[...You can invest it into your Source Material.]
Not only that, but there was even a remark appended below the system notification.
[The Foreigner is perplexed. What kind of reward from a Heroic Spirit only grants the Trial Taker usage rights, but not ownership? Seize it!]
"Holy shit!"
Lance couldn’t help but exclaim in his mind.
’Foreigner, you’re fucking incredible!’
He was finally beginning to understand just how terrifying the "Foreigner" Source Material was.
It seemed "Foreigner" possessed some kind of authority over all products and rules of the Star Realm.
So far, whether it was the "Game of Gods," the "Heroic Spirit Baptism," or "Event Submissions"—anything involving the Star Realm—"Foreigner" seemed able to stick its nose in and grab some benefits for him.
Suddenly, Lance remembered something Yvette had told him while they were resting after a romp.
Witches, a Sub-human Species, weren’t born through traditional bloodline reproduction. Instead, they were a unique race naturally conceived by the Material Realm to balance certain concepts.
Every Witch represented a pure object or concept in this world.
For example, Yvette herself represented "Nightmare," while her older sister represented the even more abstract concept of "Fate."
They could draw Power from the concepts they embodied...
’In other words...’
An absurd thought suddenly struck Lance.
’"Foreigner" can draw Power from the Star Realm...’
’Doesn’t that mean that I, Lance, am actually a Star Realm Witch?’
The ridiculous speculation made Lance shudder involuntarily.
He quickly shook his head, throwing the thought from his mind.
Just as he was about to take a closer look at the specific bonus Effects of "Thousand Descendants’ Blessing"...
A figure lunged at him.
Before he could react, she crashed into his arms.
It was Nieve.
Seeing the head of long, ice-blue hair buried in his chest, Lance thought the girl was worried about him.
He subconsciously raised a hand and gently patted Nieve’s slender back a couple of times.
"It’s okay. It’s all over now."
Lance said soothingly.
But in the next second, he felt something was off.
He felt a cold, wet sensation licking him.
Lance’s body instantly went rigid.
He quickly grabbed Nieve’s shoulders with both hands, using considerable force to pull her away from his chest.
He frantically shook her by the shoulders.
"What are you doing?!"
Lance despaired.
"Can’t you read the room?! There are tens of thousands of eyes around us, and the Minstrels are staring right at us!"
Being shaken so frantically by Lance, Nieve’s eyes seemed to spin in circles.
"Lance, stop shaking me... Nieve feels so dizzy~"
Seeing her like this, Lance could only sigh helplessly and let go of her shoulders.
Nieve stood in place and shook her head a few times until her vision slowly stabilized.
She raised her head, her usually expressionless little face showing a very serious look, and gave Lance a thumbs-up with a delicate, pale hand.
"Lance’s sweat is delicious!"
Faced with her outrageous words, Lance could only clutch his forehead in agony.
He was completely and utterly defeated.
’How can someone be so naturally dense?’
Meanwhile, Julius, who was standing not far away watching the two’s "intimate interaction," couldn’t help but reveal a gratified "auntie smile."
Seeing his little sister and brother-in-law’s public display of affection, as if no one else was around, the heart that had been dangling in his chest like a worried father’s could finally rest easy.
However, the smile on Julius’s face only lasted for a few seconds before it quickly vanished.
His gaze traveled past the couple, landing with a complicated expression on the four corpses not far away.
The terrifying strength Lance had just displayed was completely beyond his comprehension.
With the strength of a mere Level 3 Class, he had consecutively and cleanly slain four battle-hardened Level 4 Rare Professionals in a head-on deathmatch.
An absurd combat record like that... if it had been Julius himself on the field,
even though he was already at the peak of Level 5, he estimated he would have had to endure a bitter struggle to eke out a difficult victory against the four of them in a gauntlet-style fight.
A monster capable of absolute dominance at the same level, and even fighting above his Class.
In Julius’s experience, only one group was capable of such a feat.
The special group at the apex of the Excellence Tier: the Crowned Stars.
The so-called Crowned Stars were the small handful of monsters who stood at the very top of the pyramid among all the Excellence Tier Professionals in the world.
Without exception, they had all reached the absolute pinnacle of their Class in their respective fields.
Many of them had even achieved great deeds.
And all of their exclusive titles were prefixed with "Pole Star."
Every single one of them could effortlessly achieve invincibility against those of the same Class, and they treated Class suppression as if it were nothing.
The number of Crowned Stars in the Material Realm is constant.
Across the vast, boundless continent, with its hundreds of millions of living beings, there were only 36 seats.
Furthermore, it was said that this group of monsters intentionally kept their strength bottlenecked at Level 10, refusing to advance even when they could break through at any moment.
They did this all to compete for a ticket to a certain mysterious place.
That place was called the "Dusk Royal Court."
Rumor has it that the legacy left behind by the fall of the Old Gods is hidden there.
Looking back through the long and glorious scroll of human history,
many of the most renowned Legendary Powerhouses had once held a Crowned Star’s seat in their youth.
For instance, Emperor Clovis, who personally founded the Iris Kingdom; the third Hunter King, Valerian; and the Truth Practitioner, Herman...
These thunderous names all pointed to a single fact.
As long as a Crowned Star did not fall prematurely on their path of growth, their future was almost certainly Legendary!
And now...
Julius looked at Lance’s figure. He had a strong premonition that this black-haired young man absolutely possessed the terrifying potential to challenge for one of the 36 seats!
At this thought, Julius felt a heartfelt joy that Nieve had found such an outstanding partner.
He even secretly resolved that after the Summer Crown event ended and they left the Underground City, he must immediately report all intelligence on Lance to the Silver Hand headquarters.
If the Silver Hand could find a way to recruit this future Legend into the Guild, their Guild’s status in the Royal Capital would definitely rise to a new level.
Lance, still unaware of Julius’s thoughts, was still nursing a headache over Nieve’s natural denseness.
Suddenly, he caught a glimpse out of the corner of his eye as the crowd in the direction of the Golden Lion Cross Faction parted.
The captain in the golden Heavy Armor, Felix, was leading several team members toward them, stepping slowly over the rubble-strewn ground.
