【Combat Style Comparison… Knowledge Inclination Comparison… Sub-instance Performance Comparison…】

【Final Role-Playing Compatibility Assessment: Extremely Poor! (1%)】

【Warning: Role-playing compatibility too low. The Fate Trajectory of the target historical figure “Karen Valshius” refuses grafting!】

As expected.

Seeing those flashing red lines, the heavy stagnant breath in Lance’s chest finally escaped along with his exhale.

That black hand hiding in the shadows had painstakingly laid out such an enormous scheme, yet now the entire thing had completely miscarried without even making a splash.

Lance had already felt extreme disgust toward the mastermind forcing his head down and trying to make him inherit Karen’s Fate Trajectory.

Now, this comical result of 1% perfectly matched his expectations.

However, according to Ilysia’s explanation within the projection space—

If the intruder differed too greatly from the originally designated role, causing the target Fate Trajectory to reject attachment—

Then the spell would forcibly and randomly seize another unknown Fate Trajectory from the river of history for grafting.

This uncontrollable variable left Lance feeling somewhat uneasy.

He had no idea what sort of fate would ultimately fall upon his head.

Recalling his savage performance on the shallows earlier, where he had resembled a living meat grinder—

If the spell suddenly malfunctioned and forcibly grafted the fate of some historically infamous deranged serial killer onto him—

Then he would probably feel disgusted for a very long time.

Lance suppressed his chaotic thoughts and continued looking toward the panel, planning to see how the spell had completed the final settlement during the period after he left the Historical Projection.

【Warning! Spell activated. Fate Grafting cannot be interrupted!】

【Due to the player displaying distinct characteristics such as “Extreme Physical Violence,” “Superhuman Endurance,” and “One-Man Army,” the Wheel of Fate is forcibly searching the river of history for a Fate Trajectory with higher compatibility!】

【Search successful!】

【Fate Target: King of the Northlands】

The panel provided no detailed explanation regarding what kind of figure this so-called “King of the Northlands” actually was.

However, the four words “King of the Northlands” emitted a faint golden glow upon the translucent screen, as though they could be directly selected through thought.

At that exact moment, the two of them had just walked beyond a certain range of Copper Creek Forest.

Ahead, the familiar low city walls of Graystone Town had already come into view.

Returning to Graystone Town—

Lance stopped walking and waved goodbye to Guildmaster Necros beside him.

The old Guildmaster looked at the youth and revealed a smile.

He reminded Lance to remember to visit the Adventurers’ Guild tomorrow morning.

This sudden internship mission had effectively been forcibly terminated early, and the Guild needed to uniformly settle rewards for all participating students and Adventurers.

Since Lance’s commission had personally been issued by him, he instructed Lance to settle it directly through him.

Lance readily agreed before immediately turning around and quickly heading toward his home.

Pushing open the door—

Lance did not even bother lighting the living room lamps.

He strode straight into the bedroom, casually pulled out a loose set of casual clothes from the wardrobe, and changed into them.

Then he directly collapsed onto the soft bed and impatiently focused his attention back onto the System Panel.

Taking a deep breath, he heavily pressed his thoughts onto the glowing words “King of the Northlands.”

Buzz…

Accompanied by a faint ringing in his ears—

Blurred scenes surged violently into his mind like a tidal wave.

Lance’s vision was instantly replaced by a vast world of endless white.

This was an extremely cold icefield perpetually covered by blizzards.

The freezing wind howled through the glaciers like sharpened blades.

It seemed even colder than Northwind Province.

The first rays of dawn struggled to pierce through the heavy snowstorm, casting pale light upon the frozen plains.

At this moment, shattered monster corpses had already piled into a terrifying mountain of flesh several meters high upon the snowfield.

And at the very center of the scene, a man sat quietly atop the summit of that corpse mountain.

His entire body was wrapped in fully enclosed black heavy armor, the streamlined contours brimming with strength covered in old scars from blades and axes.

His arms wore pitch-black metal gauntlets, their edges sharpened into vicious spikes.

The critical joints of his legs were similarly equipped with sharp impact armor.

One of the man’s hands casually gripped a heavy spear drenched in blood.

The exaggerated design of this spear alone made its astonishing weight obvious at a glance. The tail end of the weapon had been carved into the shape of a ferocious dragon head.

The dark black spear shaft was covered in flickering crimson cracks, as though some violently surging mana had been sealed within. Merely glancing at the spear tip exposed amidst the snowstorm was enough to imagine the agony of being pierced by it.

He simply sat atop the mountain of monsters, raising his head to gaze toward the golden sun slowly rising in the distance.

But this calmness did not last long.

The next instant, the clouds overhead were violently torn apart by a savage force.

A true Dragon appeared above the battlefield.

The sheer size of this Dragon was suffocating, and anyone with eyes could tell this was absolutely not one of those inferior Sub-Dragons that crawled on the ground.

This was a pure-blooded Dragon.

Its massive wings were covered in thick frost, while its gigantic body shone with a crystalline deep-blue brilliance.

With every flap of its wings, the surrounding air instantly condensed into razor-sharp ice crystals.

The Dragon opened its fang-filled maw and released a dragon roar before diving directly toward the man standing atop the corpse mountain.

Facing this mythical creature radiating overwhelming pressure—

The man slowly rose to his feet.

Then he performed a mad action that made even Lance’s scalp go numb.

He reverse-gripped the crimson spear in his right hand.

Leaning his body backward, he concentrated all his strength into his waist and arm, aiming at the Frost Dragon descending from the heavens with a throwing stance.

After the brief accumulation of power was complete—

The man roared furiously and violently hurled the heavy spear from his hand.

Although the spear flew upward against the natural trajectory—

From Lance’s perspective, the crimson-glowing spear looked like a reverse-burning meteor carrying enough oppressive force to pierce through everything.

The spear tore through the sky, forcibly blasting away the surrounding air through sheer terrifying power, exploding into a gigantic white shockwave midair.

All the historical scenes abruptly halted at that shocking instant.

Lance suddenly opened his eyes, gasping heavily for breath.

The scene had felt far too real, causing him to personally experience the oppressive pressure of the Dragon’s descent.

A dense layer of cold sweat already covered his forehead.

If he had guessed correctly—

Then what he had forcibly intercepted earlier should have been the Fate Trajectory once walked by that savage man.

And just as expected—

As the vision disappeared, the System Panel immediately displayed the final settlement prompt.
