Who Let Him Play Yugioh? (Re-Upload)
Chapter 1251: The King’s Intentions Are So Easy to See Through
In an instant, a fierce gale whipped across the duel field. A swirling green storm vortex coalesced madly before Jack. A low dragon roar echoed through the air, as if all the wind elements in heaven and earth had submitted at that moment.
"ROAR—!!!"
Accompanied by a deafening bellow, a massive dragon silhouette burst forth from the storm! It was entirely emerald green, its scales gleaming like jade. When its wings spread, they blotted out the sky, and every membrane flowed with storm patterns. The Strong Wind Dragon spiraled upward, twisting the surrounding air with its presence and forming countless tiny wind blades.
[Strong Wind Dragon, ATK 2400]
The moment it fully materialized, the shadowy silhouette of the sacrificed "Vice Dragon" emerged. The pitch-black dragon soul let out a screech as the Strong Wind Dragon opened its maw and devoured it whole! The Vice Dragon’s power transformed into dark green energy streams that coiled around the Strong Wind Dragon’s claws and wing bones, causing its aura to surge once more.
"Strong Wind Dragon’s monster effect!" Fake Jack laughed heartily. "When Strong Wind Dragon is successfully Tribute Summoned by Tributing a Dragon-Type monster, this card’s ATK increases by half the original ATK of the Tributed monster! Strong Wind Absorption!"
[Strong Wind Dragon, ATK 2400 → ATK 3400]
"I see. Because the ’Tributed monster’s’ ATK is judged after it’s sent to the Graveyard, the Vice Dragon in the Graveyard had its ATK reset to 2000," Kira nodded slightly. "So Strong Wind Dragon can absorb half of the Vice Dragon’s ATK—that’s 1000 points of power."
"You’re starting to look a bit like a king now," he added with a faint smile.
"Not ’look like’—I am the absolute King!" Fake Jack roared. "Not like some washed-up impostor who’s already lost his honor!"
Speak of the devil—right as the two spoke, the roar of an engine tore through the night behind them. A white, ring-shaped Duel Runner charged into the battlefield like a wounded beast, its tires leaving four scorched marks on the asphalt.
Kira’s helmet visor reflected the neon lights. He glanced back at the newcomer and raised an eyebrow. "Didn’t I tell you to wait for the ambulance?"
Kira had used Silent Magician’s healing spell to ease the injuries and pain, but he hadn’t fully healed Jack’s injuries from the crash. Jack was still at the end of his rope, yet he had forced himself to regain enough mobility to chase after them without hesitation.
"What kind of joke is that?" Jack’s Duel Runner front wheel suddenly swung ninety degrees, flanking the white Duel Runner alongside Kira. "The score between me and this impostor—I’ll settle it myself!"
Fake Jack’s platinum blond hair whipped wildly in the vortex as he burst into laughter. "You? A guy who didn’t even die properly, still chasing after me so recklessly? Fine then. Once I finish this guy off, I’ll come give you the finishing blow right away!"
The duel continued. Fake Jack waved his hand grandly. "My Main Phase isn’t over yet. I activate the Spell Card ’Monster Reborn’ from my hand!"
A massive emerald revival sigil appeared above his Duel Runner, followed by a black silhouette. The Vice Dragon that had been Tributed earlier spread its wings once more and returned to the field.
"Special Summon ’Vice Dragon’ from the Graveyard!" Fake Jack declared. "And because it was revived from the Graveyard, the halved ATK effect has already been reset. The Vice Dragon is back to its original ATK!"
[Vice Dragon, ATK 2000]
The real Jack’s expression changed drastically on the sidelines. "This guy wants to end it in one turn!"
He urgently warned Kira, "Be careful—that Strong Wind Dragon has a piercing effect! If it attacks..."
Kira’s face-down "Flip Flop Frog" had only 200 DEF. If pierced by the 3400 ATK Strong Wind Dragon, he would take a massive 3200 damage in one go.
Then the Vice Dragon could attack the "Unifrog" with only 400 ATK on the field, and Kira would be instantly defeated by this flashy Dragon combo!
"Even if you realize it, it’s too late!" Fake Jack declared arrogantly. "Watch closely—this is the duel of a King! No room left, absolute victory in an instant!
Attack the face-down ’Flip Flop Frog’ with ’Strong Wind Dragon’!"
A visible tornado formed at the center of the duel field. Strong Wind Dragon spread its sky-blotting emerald wings as storm energy capable of tearing the earth gathered in its maw.
"Shatter!" Fake Jack roared, swinging his arm. A hurricane cannon blasted forth, plowing a three-meter-wide trench into the ground.
The Flip Flop Frog’s Defense Position meant nothing before absolute power. The moment the card flipped, it turned to dust in the green light.
"Then, at this moment, I discard ’Kuriboh’ from my hand," Kira said. "When Kuriboh is discarded from the hand during an opponent’s attack, all battle damage becomes 0."
The Kuriboh card flicked from his fingertips and spun in the air, suddenly swelling into a fluffy shield layer.
"Kuri kuri!" With a cute cry, Kuriboh absorbed all the destructive energy with its bouncy body. The storm sparked countless golden fireworks on its fur before popping like a burst balloon and vanishing. Kira’s Duel Runner stood firm amid the blast wind, and the LP displayed on his duel disk didn’t change at all.
Fake Jack: "A hand-trap monster effect? You actually blocked it?"
"Not yet," Kira smiled. "The ’Flip Flop Frog’ you just attacked also has a monster effect. When this card is attacked, you can return up to a number of monsters your opponent controls to the hand equal to the number of ’Frog’ monsters you control.
I control two Frogs—’Flip Flop Frog’ and ’Unifrog’—so I can return up to two monsters to your hand."
Kira snapped his fingers.
"Return Vice Dragon and Strong Wind Dragon to the hand."
In an instant, frog tongues shot out like lightning, transforming into two blue water-stream chains that instantly wrapped around the silhouettes of Strong Wind Dragon and Vice Dragon! Fake Jack’s pupils shrank. "What?!"
"ROAR—!" Strong Wind Dragon roared furiously, trying to break free, but the chains released electric currents. The two giant dragons’ bodies twisted and shrank, finally turning into streams of light that were forcibly dragged back into Fake Jack’s hand on his Duel Runner.
Fake Jack’s face turned as dark as if it would drip water. "These damn frogs..."
His overwhelmingly powerful formation and lethal double-dragon setup should have won him the turn. Yet it had been dismantled by a couple of simple frogs.
"’A King’s eyes have no room for defensive trash’—that’s your famous saying, right?" Kira laughed.
Fake Jack fell silent.
"So that’s why you chose to attack the ’Flip Flop Frog’ first?"
Kira continued with a smile. "What a shame. If you had attacked the ’Unifrog’ with Vice Dragon first, you would have at least dealt some damage. Then when Strong Wind Dragon attacked Flip Flop Frog afterward, I would only have had one Frog on the field, so I could only bounce one of your monsters back. At least one of your dragons would have stayed on the field."
Kira clicked his tongue and shook his head.
"The so-called ’King’ really does have easy-to-read tactics and intentions."
Fake Jack was so angry he couldn’t speak, his face turning green. As for the real Jack, although he felt pleased seeing the impostor humiliated, he didn’t mock him either.
Because he realized that the words Kira had used to taunt the opponent... had originally been his own famous saying.
