White Dragon Lord

Chapter 243: The Sealed Evil Entity

  • Next Chapter

The White Dragon Lord looked at the kings who had just agreed to jointly attack the Luonan Empire. He knew that while fear would keep them from slacking off entirely, they still wouldn't put their full effort into the campaign.

He decided to give them a little extra motivation. Raising one claw, he gathered a small orb of green light that floated above his talons, radiating vigorous vitality.

The kings watched the magical display in awe.

The White Dragon Lord raised his head high.

"The first to breach the Imperial Capital of the Luonan Empire will receive my blessing."

As he spoke, the green orb shot forward like lightning, sinking right between the eyebrows of the oldest king present.

Startled by the sudden "attack," the white-haired monarch scrambled to feel his face, assuming the White Dragon Lord meant to harm him.

But as the green light entered his forehead, a vibrant life force washed over him, nourishing his aging body. Under the astonished gazes of the other eleven kings, the age spots faded from his skin as his face grew visibly younger, the wrinkles smoothing out around the corners of his eyes.

"This is your reward! A youthful body and a longer lifespan!"

The old king was ecstatic. He could feel the changes within himself. His cloudy eyes cleared, and his frail, aging body surged with newfound strength.

A mirror of ice materialized in front of him. Staring into his reflection, he realized he looked exactly as he had in his middle age.

Suddenly, in the reflection, he watched as threads of green energy began slipping back out from between his eyebrows. His face slowly aged once more.

"No! No! No!"

The White Dragon Lord drew back the life energy and scoffed.

"I can bestow it, and I can take it away. Whether you seize this opportunity depends entirely on your actions."

What ruler wouldn't want to live longer?

The kings stared feverishly at the glowing green orb now re-condensed in the dragon's claw.

Seeing the absolute determination in their eyes, the White Dragon Lord felt satisfied. Beating his wings, he took to the sky.

In truth, that green orb was nothing more than a trivial trick using life force. Even if he hadn't withdrawn it, the light would have faded naturally after a while.

But the White Dragon Lord had not lied to them, either. He did possess life-extending potions. As long as the human monarchs accomplished his demands, he didn't mind rewarding them.

After all, he would still need these human kings to manage the Madilan World in the future.

The White Dragon Lord hurried toward the Eye of the Earth. On the day he attacked the titans, he had sensed two Legendary Rank presences among them, a detail that left him vaguely unsettled.

...

Deep in the subterranean world, the throne room sat empty. The Life Titan, Delisve, leaned against the Throne of Flowers with her eyes closed, a look of profound pleasure on her face.

Time slowly ticked by.

Delisve languidly opened her eyes and stood up. Feeling the magical energy replenishing her body, she patted the armrest of her throne in satisfaction.

Suddenly, from deep beneath the throne, a savage beast's roar tore through layers of solid rock and echoed violently in the Life Titan's mind, attempting to shatter her psyche.

Delisve's expression shifted. She hurriedly fortified her mental sea, forcefully expelling the strange, invasive mental attack.

"Too careless. I was distracted for only a second, and it attacked."

She wiped a cold sweat from her forehead, silently cursing her own negligence. But a moment later, her delicate brows furrowed. Something felt wrong.

"Wait. It just woke up five years ago. How is it awake again so soon?"

According to past experience, this sealed monster spent the vast majority of its time slumbering to accumulate strength. It was only supposed to awaken for a few days every dozen years or so, expending its stored energy to batter against the seal.

This time, however, it had awoken unnaturally early.

Had something provoked it?

The dragons?

Thinking of her mortal enemies, Delisve became increasingly certain that the dragons were to blame. She had retreated underground ten days ago. Since then, she had been entirely focused on absorbing elemental energy, leaving her no time to monitor their actions.

They had undoubtedly been up to no good during that time. Delisve gritted her teeth.

"Guards!"

A titan posted outside the door tiptoed in. He covertly glanced at the throne behind Delisve, breathing a quiet sigh of relief when he noticed nothing out of the ordinary.

Seeing her clansman act so cowardly, Delisve frowned, though she knew she couldn't really blame him.

"While I've been recovering my magic, what have those cursed dragons been doing?"

"Your Majesty, those dragons are still trapped outside the barrier, but they've been attacking it with Dragon Breath day and night without rest."

Delisve's frown deepened, and she sighed inwardly.

No wonder!

The White Dragon Lord might be completely baffled by the barrier's energy source, but Delisve knew the answer well.

The source of the barrier's energy was the very monster sealed beneath them!

The seal set by that titan expert was exceptionally clever. Not only did it keep the beast imprisoned, but it also continuously siphoned its magical energy to maintain the barrier above.

In other words, the dragons' constant bombardment had accelerated the drain on the monster's energy, waking it up.

Delisve felt a headache coming on.

Originally, this flawless seal would have kept the monster in eternal slumber until its energy was completely depleted and it finally died.

But due to Delisve's intervention, the monster had gained a sliver of hope for escape.

Four thousand years ago, before the elemental energy vanished, Delisve had accidentally uncovered the secret of the titan race's forbidden grounds—a monster was sealed inside!

She hadn't breathed a word of this to anyone. Tribal law forbade entry into the forbidden grounds, and at the same time, she harbored her own selfish motives: once the monster died, she would reap massive benefits.

So, she had simply been waiting for the monster to die.

Three thousand years ago, the dragons and titans fought until the skies darkened and the earth shook. All the elemental energy in the Madilan World vanished overnight. Stripped of its elemental energy, the Madilan World was no longer habitable for magical creatures like the titans and dragons.

Consequently, the titan race initiated a mass exodus. However, according to ancient tribal law, the forbidden grounds required a guardian. Delisve, who had just broken through to High-Tier Legend at the time, volunteered to stay behind.

In order to continue cultivating in the Madilan World, Delisve studied the seal for a full five hundred years. Utilizing the legacy of the Life Titans, she successfully opened a small hole in the seal, letting elemental energy leak out to sustain her and her clansmen's cultivation.

However, because the seal was no longer flawless, the monster was able to awaken and begin battering against the seal.

That scared Delisve out of her wits. If she allowed the monster to break the seal, she would become a sinner of the titan race, leaving behind a legacy of infamy for ten thousand years.

Fortunately, the breach in the seal was extremely small. Using magical materials left behind by her ancestors, Delisve resealed the gap. But her own magical level wasn't on the same tier as the seal's creator. As a result, the monster woke up once every dozen years or so.

To guard the seal, Delisve placed her throne directly over the breach, keeping a constant eye on the monster's movements.

Because the monster's periods of awakening were unpredictable, every departure carried immense risk for Delisve. It was for this exact reason that, thousands of years ago, she had handed the management of humanity over to a sinner of the titan race—the Thunder Titan, Coverdale Keith.

The monster had only awakened for a brief moment before falling back into a deep slumber.

Having not slept long enough, the monster shouldn't have had sufficient energy to batter against the seal.

Thinking of this, Delisve let out a sigh of relief, which was quickly followed by a heavy sense of disappointment.

She had forsaken the migration to other planes, waiting for thousands of years. And now, just to survive, she had no choice but to lay her cards on the table with the dragons.

Feeling the abundant magic flowing through her body, Delisve took a deep breath and began walking toward the Gate of Steel.

...

The Gold Dragon, Leopold Chodmartin, lay sprawled against the damp subterranean soil. He watched three dragons bombard the barrier with their Dragon Breath, feeling incredibly bored. Nine days of this had already passed.

To constantly drain the barrier's energy, the Ancient Gold Dragon had organized the dragons into groups of three to simultaneously attack the barrier with Dragon Breath, rotating fresh groups every twenty minutes in an endless cycle.

Meanwhile, the two High-Tier Legend Gold Dragons stood guard underground at all times, ready to intervene should the Life Titan suddenly open the doors to slaughter the ordinary dragons.

Suddenly, the three dragons cut off their Dragon Breath and scrambled backward, shouting.

"The titan is coming out!"

The two Gold Dragons immediately stood up and moved to the three duty dragons' position. Through the transparent barrier, they spotted that deeply memorable figure approaching from the Gate of Steel.

The Gold Dragon hurriedly pulled out the Scale given by the White Dragon Lord and triggered the sliver of mental energy stored within it.

Delisve glanced at the two expressionless Gold Dragons outside the barrier. Frowning slightly, she continued walking toward the Gate of Steel.

"It's been a long time, Adelaide!"

Hearing the helpless tone in the Life Titan's voice, the Ancient Gold Dragon raised an eyebrow.

"What? Have you come to beg for mercy?!"

Reaching out to open the Gate of Steel, Delisve replied, "No! It is a negotiation!"

...

The White Dragon Lord, responsible for the canal and the continental situation, was reviewing the intelligence sent by the Orcs.

"Mm, not bad. They cleared the path in just nine days. They're almost at the Imperial Capital of the Luonan Empire."

The White Dragon Lord was extremely pleased with the Orcs' war progress. Upon receiving the White Dragon Lord's orders, the Orc high command had immediately taken it seriously. With the help of several dragons, the Orcs utilized the cover of night to launch ferocious sieges against the heavily guarded major cities of the Luonan Empire.

After pulling out those tough strongholds, the Orcs advanced triumphantly. Encountering almost no obstacles, they pushed straight toward the Imperial Capital of the Luonan Empire.

A portion of the credit for this went to the Kingdom Alliance.

On the Kingdom Alliance's side, they had immediately mobilized their troops against the Luonan Empire after meeting with the White Dragon Lord.

However, since there was only one reward, the nine nations failed to unite. Instead, they schemed against one another, leading to slow progress.

This was something the White Dragon Lord hadn't expected, but it didn't matter. He had never expected the Kingdom Alliance to breach the Imperial Capital of the Luonan Empire anyway; all he wanted was their attitude.

Sure enough, the Kingdom Alliance's betrayal caused a chorus of wails among the Luonan Empire's upper echelons, completely shattering their last sliver of hope.

It was a killing blow to the heart. When their own kind stood on the side of the Orcs, what hope did they have left!

Within the Luonan Empire's borders, there were already precedents of lords abandoning their cities to flee or opening the gates to surrender to the Orcs. With someone taking the lead, the rest began to waver, leaving only a small number of hardliners to put up a stubborn resistance.

The White Dragon Lord tossed the letter aside.

The outcome was sealed!

Suddenly, the White Dragon Lord sensed that the mental energy in the communication Scale he had given the Gold Dragon had been triggered. He hurriedly took to the sky, rushing toward the massive sinkhole.

When the White Dragon Lord arrived at the sinkhole, he was astonished to discover that the Gate of Steel was actually open. The Life Titan, Delisve, stood before the door, arguing fiercely with the Ancient Gold Dragon.

Both sides actually hadn't started fighting?!

The White Dragon Lord tucked in his wings and landed on the flat ground.

"What's going on?"

The Gold Dragon, Leopold Chodmartin, replied via telepathic transmission.

"Amos, the situation has changed. The titan took the initiative to open the gates and negotiate with us. She holds a trump card that can take us all down with her."

"Alright, all the dragons are here!"

The Life Titan, Delisve, said as she looked at the landing White Dragon Lord.

"This matter has to start from the ancient era. In the ancient era, our ancestors sealed a monster here—one that never should have appeared."

Delisve looked at the three dragons in front of her. She took a deep breath and continued speaking.

"A hybrid between a dragon and a titan."

The White Dragon Lord raised an eyebrow, pointing at the Gate of Steel.

"The one mentioned in the relief carvings?"

Delisve nodded.

"It seems you are already clear on the beginning of the story. But I imagine you must be very curious as to why our titan ancestors would so carefully seal away a hybrid."

The three dragons were indeed curious. They listened quietly to Delisve's account.

"Because this hybrid is a true monster—an Evil Entity!"

"What?! An Evil Entity!"

The three dragons couldn't help but exclaim in shock. This greatly exceeded their expectations.

Evil Entities were among the most terrifying existences in the multiverse. They could not be killed and generally possessed powerful strength. To be called an Evil Entity meant they were inevitably born with negative emotions, attempting to destroy all life.

Even The Gods could not clearly explain how Evil Entities were born.

Because the birth of an Evil Entity followed no pattern, even the weakest mortal could give birth to one, though such an Evil Entity would usually be relatively weak.

An Evil Entity born from an Ancestral Dragon of the Star Realm era and a titan would be absolutely no weaker than an Evil Entity born from a deity with Weak Divine Power.

"Although unbelievable, it truly happened. Fortunately, in the early stages of its birth, the Evil Entity was discovered by the titan ancestors and sealed here."

The White Dragon Lord's expression flickered uncertainly. If Delisve really held an Evil Entity in her hands, then she truly had the qualifications to negotiate with the three dragons.

If she released the Evil Entity, the White Dragon Lord would have no choice but to take out a Portal and run. Let alone the Blood Axe Clan and the other Orcs, he might not even be able to save all the dragons beside him.

But making the dragon side retreat based on empty words alone was also impossible.

"How can you prove the existence of the Evil Entity?!"

Hearing the Ancient Gold Dragon's questioning, Delisve sneered and turned around.

"Just come inside and see for yourself."

The three dragons exchanged glances, nodded, and followed Delisve into the passage.

Looking at the Life Titan's back, the three dragons suppressed the urge to strike her. They didn't believe that Delisve hadn't kept a backup plan.

The instant he stepped into the passage, the White Dragon Lord sensed the thin magical energy in the air.

It seemed Delisve was likely telling the truth. Subsequently, the White Dragon Lord saw wonders such as the subterranean forest.

Amidst the complex gazes of hatred and fear from the ordinary titans and giants, the three dragons followed the Life Titan all the way across the main road, arriving before a floral archway.

The moment he crossed the archway's barrier, the White Dragon Lord suddenly looked toward the Throne of Flowers. Beneath the throne, he felt a deep malice and indescribable evil.
