White Dragon Lord

Chapter 237: Life Titan - Delisve

  • Next Chapter

A beautiful woman leaned lazily on a throne woven from green vines and fresh flowers. She wore a white floral crown, and her flowing hair matched the tender green of new spring grass. Her features were so exquisite that even the most critical observer could find no flaw.

She wore no fabric at all. Green leaves and fresh flowers concealed her modesty, leaving vast sweeps of snow-white skin bare to the air.

Languid, majestic, pure, yet alluring—these contradictory traits blended perfectly in this female Titan.

Samis stared at the female Titan on the throne, so captivated he didn't even notice the cyan giant setting him down.

The cyan giant placed the human on the ground and dropped to one knee, bowing to the queen on the throne.

"Rise."

The cyan giant stood to the side.

"Human, you wished to see me?"

The voice of the Life Titan, Delisve, echoed in Samis's ears. The tone was undeniably soft, but to him, it sounded like roaring thunder.

Sitting on the ground, Samis snapped out of his daze, suddenly overwhelmed by disbelief.

Me?! What's wrong with me?!

Born a commoner, Samis had spent more than half his life clawing his way up through officialdom. His eloquence, insight, and willpower were ordinarily impeccable.

Otherwise, Duke Shingesa would never have entrusted him with the mission handed down by the Imperial Emperor.

It was safe to say that the fate of the entire empire, and even all of humanity in the Madilan World, now rested in Samis's hands. Everything depended on the outcome of this meeting.

Remembering the heavy burden of his mission, Samis prepared to speak, but the female Titan beat him to it.

"What news have you brought?"

Hearing the Life Titan's intoxicating voice, Samis's briefly cleared head instantly turned muddled again.

"Three dragons... three dragons that even the Dragon-Shooting Cannons couldn't kill..."

The female Titan knitted her elegant brows. Humans had adapted their Dragon-Shooting Cannons from the Giant Slayers meant to deal with Titans, and the Giant Slayers themselves were forged as replicas of the Titans' own Dragon-Slaying Ballistas. Essentially, a Dragon-Shooting Cannon was a miniature Dragon-Slaying Ballista.

Three millennia ago, the human administrators chosen by Delisve had delegated the forging of the Dragon-Slaying Ballistas to humanity simply to save trouble.

This erroneous decision filled the entire Titan Race with endless regret.

The mention of the Dragon-Shooting Cannons reminded the Life Titan of this painful history.

But now was not the time to look back on historical lessons.

The Life Titan pondered: If they can withstand the attacks of the Dragon-Shooting Cannons, then those three dragons must be at least Legendary Rank.

Could it be that the Old Dragon has also found a stable source of elemental energy?!

The Life Titan, Delisve, looked around her palace. Invisible to the naked eye, countless elemental energy particles drifted through the air. Though thin, they truly existed.

"Is there anything else?"

"..."

Under the Life Titan Delisve's gentle questioning, Samis even spilled his glorious record of cuckolding a certain Count.

The cyan giant, Occam Scott, looked at the mesmerized human who had just bared his soul. He spoke calmly.

"Your Majesty, how should we dispose of him?"

The Life Titan, Delisve, casually decided the fate of the human envoy, Samis.

"Let him go back. There is no thrill of revenge in killing someone who has absolutely no ability to resist."

"Understood."

Occam obeyed the Life Titan's command absolutely. Saying no more, he grabbed Samis and strode outward.

It wasn't until the cyan giant hoisted him up that Samis finally snapped out of it. Realizing he was being hauled outside, he remembered in horror that his true mission—re-establishing an alliance with the Titans—hadn't even been brought up yet.

"Hey, Your Majesty, I still have something to say!"

The cyan giant tightened his massive hand slightly, and Samis immediately found it hard to breathe. Gripping the suffocating human, the giant continued his march outside.

On the throne, the Life Titan, Delisve, furrowed her elegant brows and fell into deep thought.

A few birds and beautiful, firefly-like insects seemed captivated by her charm as well, spontaneously fluttering and dancing around her.

In truth, the Life Titan, Delisve, hadn't used any magic against a mortal like Samis, simply because it was unnecessary.

Just as the Dragon Race possessed the innate talent of Dragon Might, the Titan Race had a similar ability. However, the specific abilities varied across different Titan classifications. The Life Titan's innate talent was gaining the goodwill of all natural life forms.

This ability might seem useless, but it was actually absurdly overpowered. It gave Life Titans a natural advantage when dealing with other creatures.

Against beings of the same rank, this talent could only slightly influence their judgment—for instance, making them willingly concede a trivial fraction of profit during negotiations. But over tens of thousands of years, those tiny slivers of profit accumulated into a considerable fortune.

But against life forms much weaker than a Life Titan, this ability was akin to brainwashing. While the weak didn't hold much value, one couldn't forget that life forms had the capacity to grow.

Weak yet highly talented life forms often became targets for Life Titans. Upon discovering such a target, they would use their natural advantage to invite the individual into their camp.

For entities weaker than a Life Titan but possessing a certain level of strength and talent, Life Titans would invest in them, often yielding impressive returns.

Moreover, if the target of their investment fully matured, they gained a steadfast ally. It was just like Bailey City's investment in the White Dragon Lord, which reaped unimaginably massive rewards.

Therefore, across the multiverse, Life Titans were virtually synonymous with hornet's nests. Once provoked, a massive swarm of powerhouses would emerge to champion their cause.

Of course, this ability wasn't invincible. Against elemental life forms and entities possessing Divinity, the ability was practically useless. It was equally ineffective against the Dragon Race, a species whose natural goodwill toward Titans was firmly in the negatives.

Furthermore, to an enemy of life like a Demon, seeing a Life Titan was like a bull seeing a red cape. It would be strange if they didn't charge forward and hack at them.

The Life Titan, Delisve, rested her chin on her hands and sighed.

"One Old Dragon, plus two Legendary Ranks. That's a bit troublesome."

...

Clang!

The steel gates slammed shut with a massive crash, as if mocking Samis's incompetence.

Samis sat on the ground in a daze, wondering how he was going to report back to Duke Shingesa.

Could he just say he forgot to tell her?!

If he did, Samis was absolutely certain Duke Shingesa would hack him into eight pieces.

After sitting in a stupor for a long time, Samis came up with a somewhat decent excuse—he had brought up the alliance, but it failed!

Although a severe punishment was inevitable, and he might even lose his life, at least it wouldn't implicate his family.

Samis crawled up from the ground, patted the dirt off his rear, and straightened his clothes. Grabbing a torch, he walked toward the lift and tugged on its ropes.

The bell tied to the City Wall rang out. Receiving the signal, the guards on duty turned the winch, and the lift slowly rose.

Finally, Samis stepped back onto the City Wall and saw the rising sun. Stepping suddenly from darkness into the light, his eyes couldn't adjust, and he used his hand to shield his eyes from the glare.

Suddenly, he noticed a flock of dark shadows rapidly approaching in the distant sky. Immediately, the terrified shouts of the soldiers rang out around him.

"Dragons! Dragons! Dragons!"

The Ancient Gold Dragon, Adelaide Leslie, led the White Dragon Lord, the Gold Dragon reinforcement, Leopold Chodmartin, and a massive horde of dragons from the Overseas Dragon Island. Flying in the sky, he muttered to himself:

"Delisve! I've come to 'see' you!"
