Chapter 205: Crisis in the Sky City

A day later, news arrived from the Council. Nordhill's strongest mage, Merlin Heavenly Principle, was preparing to lead ten High-Tier Legends and over a hundred of the Council's legendary practitioners into the Dark Lands to launch a final assault on the Demon Church.

Seeing this message, Amos instantly relaxed.

With Merlin Heavenly Principle taking action personally, the Demon Church could not escape defeat no matter how capable they were.

In the face of the absolute strength of Nordhill's strongest mage, Merlin Heavenly Principle, all schemes and tricks were meaningless.

On the Blood War Battlefield, Merlin Heavenly Principle had clashed head-on against Trollope Campbell, the Prison Soul Demon and veteran Abyss lord of the 56th layer, without losing any ground.

He had used that veteran Abyss lord as a stepping stone, making a name for himself in a single battle that echoed across the entire Blood War Battlefield.

With a mage who rivaled the gods taking action, the Demon Church would not be able to stir up any trouble.

Across the Nordhill Continent, the White Dragon Lord was not the only one who thought this way.

...

Another day passed.

In the tranquil Overseas Archipelago, the White Dragon Lord was discussing the construction of his Magic Tower with the building team sent by the Council.

"Master Horace, this magic array..."

Suddenly, the White Dragon Lord's heart trembled. At the same time, Tower Spirit Seven's alarms blared frantically.

"Warning! Warning! An unknown deity has descended into the Dark Lands in the Central Region of Nordhill. The energy reaction level is at the maximum. Analyzing divine power attributes. Divine power sample collected. Matching deity information. Match complete: Spider Queen Lolth."

The White Dragon Lord was shocked. Spider Queen Lolth was the deity worshipped by the Drow Elves. She possessed Intermediate Divine Power, was a master of schemes and tricks, and stood as the paragon of chaotic evil.

Lolth descending at a time like this certainly meant nothing good.

Sure enough, immediately following Lolth's descent, Merlin Heavenly Principle issued a warning.

"All Guardians of Nordhill, the Drow Elves have betrayed us! The expeditionary force is trapped. All councilors, report to Samiria immediately. The Sky City must not suffer any damage."

Upon receiving Merlin Heavenly Principle's message, the White Dragon Lord realized that the Demon Church's true target was the Sky City, Samiria.

The Sky City's importance was self-evident. It was the key to the Guardian Council's control over Nordhill. Whether for monitoring magical reactions within the plane or facilitating ultra-long-distance teleportation, nothing could function without the Sky City, Samiria.

In combat, Samiria was one of Nordhill's strongest trump cards. The Sky City was known as a mage's Divine Kingdom; within it, a mage's magical energy was virtually endless. Coupled with functions like cross-planar teleportation, the Sky City was essentially a magical star warship.

If the Sky City were destroyed, the spatial lock would cease to exist, and the demons would face no further obstacles in entering Nordhill.

Knowing the absolute importance of Samiria, the White Dragon Lord immediately took out his Councilor's Badge and rapidly chanted an incantation. A purple magic array appeared beneath his feet. Master Horace stepped in as well; he was a Legendary Mage and a member of the Council.

Without a word, the magical radiance enveloped the dragon and the man, and they vanished from the spot.

When he opened his eyes again, the White Dragon Lord had arrived in Samiria's Teleportation Chamber.

Boom!

Constant explosions echoed around them, making the Sky City tremble intermittently. The White Dragon Lord did not know the current situation, but asking Tower Spirit One, who was specifically in charge of the Sky City, was definitely the right move.

"Tower Spirit One, what is the situation in Samiria right now?"

"Councilor Amos, Samiria is under attack by a massive flock of flying demonic beasts, along with a small number of demons. Please enter the battlefield as soon as possible."

Saying no more, the White Dragon Lord swiftly flew out of the Magic Tower and landed on the plaza outside.

From the wide vantage point of the plaza, he saw countless flying demonic creatures swarming around the Sky City of Samiria, relentlessly attacking its Protective Shield.

Black, vile energy exploded against the transparent Protective Shield. Inside the Sky City, the crystals atop the numerous Magic Towers fired bursts of purple light. The targeted flying demonic creatures were instantly dissolved by the Magical Energy, vanishing into the air.

Disintegration Ray?!

The White Dragon Lord was stunned. The Sky City truly lived up to its reputation!

A Master Tier spell like the Disintegration Ray was merely being used as a conventional defense mechanism.

However, these flying creatures were just cannon fodder meant to drain the Sky City's energy reserves. In the distance, a dozen massive figures radiated terrifying auras.

Among these figures were demons, Transcendent Tier creatures, and humanoids. Without exception, they were all powerhouses at the High-Tier Legendary Rank.

The White Dragon Lord's gaze turned solemn. This was the Demon Church's true trump card!

At that moment, a mental link reached out from the highest Magic Tower in the Sky City and connected to him. Grand Duke Silver Dragon's familiar voice rang in his mind.

"Amos! Quick! Relax your body. I am using Samiria's power to boost your combat strength."

At the prompt, the White Dragon Lord quickly complied. Instantly, a colossal will connected with his mental sea.

Amos was surprised to find that the Sky City functioned similarly to his Gold Finger. The entire world suddenly snapped into sharp clarity, allowing him to see the actual flow of Magical Energy in the air.

"Shocking, isn't it? The Tower Spirit scanned the surrounding environment and transmitted the information directly into your mental sea. Furthermore, as long as you remain within its Scan range, the Tower Spirit will warn you if it detects any danger."

Grand Duke Silver Dragon explained this to the White Dragon, who was receiving the Sky City's blessing for the first time.

"The Tower Spirit links the mental seas of all councilors, allowing everyone to share intelligence. Additionally, within the Sky City's enhancement range, your spellcasting speed will increase by thirty percent, and you won't have to worry about running out of magic. So, just go all out and fight."

The White Dragon Lord drew in a sharp breath.

The Sky City was truly the supreme masterpiece of magical civilization!

Suppressing his shock, the White Dragon Lord asked:

"Senior, what happened to the Speaker?"

Grand Duke Silver Dragon spoke grimly.

"The Speaker and his team were ambushed. The Demon Church and the Drow Elves planned this long ago. After the Speaker arrived in the Dark Lands, the Spider Queen descended into the body of a High-Tier Legendary Level priest. The evil god and the archbishop of the Demon Church joined forces, trapping the Speaker's group with a magic array."

"Don't worry, though. The Speaker is only trapped temporarily and just needs some time to break the magic array. During this period, we must defend the Sky City at all costs. We absolutely cannot let the demons' scheme succeed."

The White Dragon Lord felt a heavy weight on his mind. Although Grand Duke Silver Dragon was trying to comfort him, his words revealed that he didn't actually know when Merlin Heavenly Principle would break free.
