Xiao Rou’s apartment is not far from the team, and before long, Zhou Qi spotted the entrance to the community and, from a distance, saw the girl standing at the gate.

These past few days, the weather in B City has been a bit chilly. Xiao Rou wore a beige sweater with a denim vest over it, paired with denim jeans matching the vest.

It’s not exactly a ladylike outfit, but on her, it makes people feel she’s quite ladylike.

Zhou Qi walked up quickly, smiling, "Why aren’t you waiting at home?"

"I just arrived too."

Xiao Rou also smiled, "What do you feel like eating?"

"Anything’s fine."

"Then let’s have Japanese food, there’s a place nearby that’s supposed to be pretty good."

"Sure."

Zhou Qi didn’t drive, so the two of them flagged down a taxi and headed to the Japanese restaurant Xiao Rou mentioned.

The two didn’t choose a private room but instead sat in a relatively secluded corner in the main hall. The restaurant offered an a la carte buffet; Xiao Rou browsed the menu, then looked at Zhou Qi across from her: "What shall we eat?"

"Anything’s fine, you order. Two portions."

"Okay."

Xiao Rou perused the menu, ordering whatever caught her eye, and then flipped to the beverage section. She ordered a glass of juice for herself and looked at Zhou Qi, "Want some wine?"

Zhou Qi shook his head, "No, whatever you’re having is fine."

"Okay."

In these few minutes, Zhou Qi mostly echoed her choices. Xiao Rou knew it might just be that Zhou Qi found it bothersome to decide, yet inexplicably, she felt a bit pleased inside.

Because she had a good relationship with Zhou Chengchen, her interactions with Zhou Qi have never felt awkward, but today, even though it was just a casual meal as usual.

Sitting face to face like this, Xiao Rou suddenly discovered she didn’t know where to look, instinctively picking up the teacup beside her, sipping water, or fiddling with the table’s little ornaments.

Zhou Qi didn’t speak either, which made the already somewhat awkward Xiao Rou feel a bit more awkward, lowering her head, not daring to lift it.

Fortunately, the sashimi platter she ordered came quickly, and with food around, the stalemate between them immediately eased.

"Is the apartment tidied up?"

At this moment, Zhou Qi took the initiative to ask.

Xiao Rou smiled gently, "Yes, it’s all tidied up. The apartment is well-equipped, nothing particularly needing preparation."

"If you need any help, let me know. Cheng Chen’s not here, you can ask me."

"Sure, I know, thank you."

With the conversation rolling, the earlier awkwardness seemed to have relieved quite a bit. Xiao Rou chatted with Zhou Qi about her apartment and the recent happenings at the milk tea shop.

Talking while eating, without noticing it, they ate quite a lot. When Xiao Rou got up to go to the restroom, she realized she’d overeaten.

Upon returning, the table had been cleared of items. Zhou Qi stood as she came back, "Shall we go?"

"Yes."

The Japanese restaurant wasn’t too close, but not too far from Xiao Rou’s new apartment. As soon as they walked out of the restaurant, Xiao Rou pursed her lips and asked, "Want to take a walk?"

This is just an ordinary question, but at the moment, Xiao Rou felt a bit sheepish, quickly adding, "I’m stuffed."

Zhou Qi chuckled, "People like you are adored by buffet owners."

"Huh?"

Xiao Rou was stunned for a couple of seconds before reacting, immediately lowering her head, pouting, "Cheng Chen says the same."

"Let’s go for a walk, help digest."
