When Love Turns the Tables: The Mysterious Husband's Chase

Chapter 1352: You Never Had Feelings for Him?

  • Next Chapter

Just like Zhou Chengchen thought, Zhou Qi isn’t someone who would waste time with unrequited love.

Once he was clear about his feelings, the first thing he wanted to do was to confess to Xiao Rou.

Zhou Qi imagined many possible outcomes: if Xiao Rou liked him too, they could be together in a simple, spiritual romance and grow up together.

Or, if Xiao Rou liked him but wasn’t interested in a relationship at the moment, they could remain as they were, just knowing each other’s feelings.

Alternatively, if Xiao Rou didn’t like him, Zhou Qi wasn’t going to become clingy, after all she was his sister’s friend, not his; everyone could just stay as they were.

But the result was a situation Zhou Qi never anticipated.

His mind drifted back from the memories, Zhou Qi let out a bitter smile, tilted his head back, and finished his beer in one go.

These things had long passed, he hadn’t thought about them for a long time, so why were they resurfacing now?

Zhou Chengchen meant well, he knew that, but having old wounds opened like this was really unpleasant.

He crumpled the beer can, turned over and casually tossed it into the garbage bin, then stepped into the bathroom.

Xi Siyan was already lying down in bed, the unfamiliar room didn’t make him feel out of place because it was the Zhou Family household; however, looking at the empty space beside him, Xi Siyan furrowed his brow.

He had gotten through so many nights without her before, hadn’t he?

Yet now it was a bit difficult to endure, Xi Siyan smiled, estimating the next few months would be as hard as tonight, maybe even harder.

Xi Siyan couldn’t fall asleep; Zhou Qi came out of the shower, more awake than ever, both men preoccupied with their own thoughts.

Zhou Chengchen and Xiao Rou, on the other hand, were having a joyous time.

The two girls leaned against pillows, clutching tablets, seemingly engrossed in some trivial game; Xiao Rou was quiet, while Zhou Chengchen played and chit-chatted away.

"Phew... cleared it."

Xiao Rou was a bit slower than Zhou Chengchen and put down the tablet two minutes later: "I cleared it too."

Zhou Chengchen placed the tablet on the bedside table, turned sideways, resting her head on her hand, her eyes gleaming as she looked at Xiao Rou.

"Little Rou’er, speaking of which, I’m curious about something. Don’t overthink it, I’m just asking casually."

"Hmm?"

"My silly brother may not be as good as Si Yan, but he’s not bad either. You really never had feelings for him at all?"

Xiao Rou chuckled speechlessly, not answering Zhou Chengchen’s question directly, but instead addressing her earlier comment: "Cheng Chen, if your brother heard this, he’d cry."

Zhou Qi not as good as Xi Siyan?

How could that be?

In terms of looks, both are top-notch; in terms of charisma, they have different styles and each has its merits.

As for abilities, their starting points are different, hard to compare, but it’s clear that saying Xi Siyan is better than Zhou Qi isn’t right.

Zhou Chengchen is evidently seeing Lu Bu in her lover’s eyes.

Zhou Chengchen wasn’t ashamed, instead took pride in it, waving her hand boldly: "In my eyes, Si Yan is naturally the best."

Xiao Rou laughed so hard her shoulders trembled; maybe true, but only someone like the person in front of her would say it so boldly.

"Hey, hey, don’t change the subject, seriously though, my brother used to be pretty popular with girls, you really didn’t fancy him at all?"
