When Love Turns the Tables: The Mysterious Husband's Chase

Chapter 1338: I’m Saving My Money for Marriage

  • Next Chapter

Zhou Qi squinted his eyes and put on a face that said, "You’re still making this up," while Zhou Cheng Chen maintained a sincere demeanor and continued, "I’m saving my money for getting married."

Luckily, Zhou Qi had grown up with Zhou Cheng Chen, or else he would have been stunned by such a statement.

People have heard of saving money to marry a wife, but saving money to get married?

Moreover, considering Xi Siyan’s wealth today, does she really need to save money to get married?

When Zhou Cheng Chen saw Zhou Qi not speaking for a while, she cuddled up to his arm and shook it playfully, "Good brother, isn’t that a good idea?"

Of course, Zhou Qi wouldn’t be stingy over such matters; he was just momentarily distracted by Zhou Cheng Chen’s audacity. As he was about to say something, he suddenly heard Zhou Cheng Chen say, "Anyway, you definitely enjoy this kind of thing."

This statement made Zhou Qi frown instantly. He was a clever person, although his brilliance had been overshadowed by Sheng Yanxiao’s dazzling presence since childhood, it was undeniable that Zhou Qi was also a remarkably talented individual.

Beneath the seemingly lazy and unserious facade was a calm and meticulous mind.

As soon as Zhou Cheng Chen said this, Zhou Qi immediately realized something. They were siblings, twin siblings, and if Zhou Qi was willing to spare some brain cells to think, he could pretty much guess Zhou Cheng Chen’s little thoughts.

Zhou Cheng Chen had a good relationship with Xiao Rou, was interested in little girl’s gossip, and often babbled about this friend in front of him. But specifically running to him for this unrelated matter about opening a store for her friend was unusual.

This matter itself already didn’t align with Zhou Cheng Chen’s usual way of doing things, and now with this statement, Zhou Qi clearly understood.

His expression changed slightly, steadily looking at Zhou Cheng Chen, and only after several seconds did he speak, "What did you find out?"

Though phrased as a question, it clearly had a sense of everything being unspoken.

Zhou Cheng Chen didn’t pretend to play dumb either, smiled slightly, "I didn’t find out anything, only discovered that my brother, who I thought was the best in the whole world, can actually have a secret crush."

Zhou Cheng Chen’s eyes were playful as Zhou Qi looked at her. After a while, he suddenly smiled, "It’s all over."

"Is it really over?"

"What do you want to say?"

Zhou Cheng Chen turned around, facing the railing, supporting herself on it with both hands as she looked into the distance, "When did you start liking Little Rou’er?"

Zhou Qi didn’t immediately respond; he lowered his head, immersed in thoughts unknown.

After a long time, he spoke, his tone relaxed, "Forgot."

Zhou Cheng Chen glanced at him sideways; she knew Zhou Qi’s "forgot" wasn’t genuine but rather a genuine uncertainty.

She could be sure that Zhou Qi’s feelings for Xiao Rou were definitely not like hers for Xi Siyan, which sparked instant goodwill.

His emotions must have accumulated over the years and suddenly erupted at a certain point.

This is how it feels when emotions don’t know where they begin.

"Why didn’t you say anything? Are you afraid Little Rou’er doesn’t like you, and you won’t even be friends then?"

This is probably the fundamental reason why anyone with a secret crush hesitates to openly confess.

Zhou Cheng Chen could understand; back then, she could openly express her affection for Xi Siyan and declare that she wanted to pursue him precisely because she and Xi Siyan were not friends.

If Xi Siyan didn’t like her, then they would just remain strangers; after all, they were strangers to begin with.

But Zhou Qi and Xiao Rou were different.
