Chapter 1335: Making an Approach

"Come over and eat."

Xi Siyan pulled out a chair for Cheng Chen, gesturing for her to sit down, while he turned back to hang the apron on the kitchen wall.

Cheng Chen walked to the table and saw a bowl of small dumplings, a piece of egg yolk toast, and two halves of a sandwich.

Cheng Chen looked up at Xi Siyan: "Didn’t you say it was just one kind?"

Xi Siyan smiled silently, just sitting opposite Cheng Chen, who had a smile in her eyes but pouted: "You said it would be just one kind, but you prepared three. You’re so proud, aren’t you, Xi?"

"Don’t like it?"

"I like it!"

"Alright, eat up."

Cheng Chen couldn’t eat that much, hardly finishing all three portions. She ended up nibbling a little here, taking a bite there, and giving the rest to Xi Siyan.

"Are you coming with me to the company today?"

With a small dumpling still in her mouth, Cheng Chen shook her head and replied vaguely, "No, I’m going to find my brother, I have some matters to attend to."

"Alright, be careful on the road."

"I know, I know, don’t worry."

Cheng Chen didn’t leave with Xi Siyan, instead lingering a bit in the apartment before heading out.

Xi Siyan left the car for her. Cheng Chen, after stopping by a nice dessert shop to buy some things, drove to Zhou Qi’s team’s place.

The neighborhood was well-managed; cars without parking spaces weren’t allowed in. Cheng Chen wouldn’t argue with the security uncle over this, so she parked outside. But with so many things to carry, she wouldn’t stubbornly try to take them all by herself.

She decisively called Zhou Qi to come out and help her carry things.

The weather was great today. Standing by the car, Cheng Chen looked up at the sun. It was bright and sunny, but the temperature wasn’t too high—a perfect day.

Cheng Chen stood there waiting for Zhou Qi to come out, when suddenly, out of nowhere, a guy in a baseball cap approached her.

"Hello, miss."

Enjoying the sunshine, Cheng Chen was startled by the sudden appearance of the guy. She looked carefully and saw a fair-skinned young man with a baby face, his age indiscernible, but the dark circles under his eyes were quite obvious.

Instinctively frowning, Cheng Chen wondered, who is this? Someone she didn’t know, here to strike up a conversation?

The guy seemed to sense her wariness and quickly pulled out a business card from his pocket: "Please don’t misunderstand, I mean no harm. I’m an ad director from Galaxy Media. We’re currently shooting an advertisement, and I feel your looks and presence fit perfectly. Are you interested in giving it a try?"

Cheng Chen continued to frown. Galaxy Media? What on earth is that? An ad? Here to recruit her as a star?

To be honest, this wasn’t the first time something like this had happened. Due to her outstanding appearance, Cheng Chen had been approached by so-called talent scouts multiple times before, most of whom were scammers. And now it was happening again.

Displaying undisguised aversion, Cheng Chen replied, "Sorry, I’m not interested."

The guy wasn’t upset, still politely offering his card with both hands: "Please take my card, think about it. I’m not a fraud, you truly are a good fit."

His attitude was genuinely nice, and there was an earnestness in his eyes that seemed sincere rather than feigned. Cheng Chen suddenly felt a bit embarrassed to reject him, and on a whim, actually accepted the card.
